My best Naot shoes yet!
I have several pairs of Naot shoes, but these are my most comfortable and the cutest style yet. I ordered the black, and they are very unusual looking with the inset of the swirling suede and pink stitching. The Stitching is a mauvey-pink color, and is very subtle. In the past I have had a problem with Naot sizing. I wear an 8 1/2 American, 39 Euro in every shoe--except for Naot. I would often have to size up to a 40 in a Naot, and then it would be a bit too big. This pair is a perfect fit for me, at 39. So they have either changed their sizing, or it is just this shoe. At first the heel slipped up and down a bit, but I have found it doesn't bother me. Sort of like a Dansko Professional clog type fit. NO blisters or sore spots at all--which is amazing for me because my feet are the most sensitive on the planet. This mary jane style looks cute with or without socks, and is perfect for jeans or casual dresses.

Beautiful Unique Shoe -
Very beautiful, comfortable, unique shoe. Beautiful garnet color. Bought the shoe for holiday parties, but keep I wearing it everywhere! It's a nice touch to an already nice outfit, but has the ability when worn with jeans or plain clothes to make an outfit all on its own. AND it is supremely comfortable- necessary for a mother of toddler child. Very happy with the shoe.

These are the most comfortable shoes I own but improvements can be made. I ordered EUR size 42 in black. I am a 10.5M in US sizing and felt the size 41 was a smidge too small lengthwise and 42 are a bit long but much better fit. Adjustable strap is helpful since I have one foot still swollen from an injury. Wide toe box gives enough wiggle room for my toes and the heel fits my narrow heel with no slippage!
First, the removable insole is very supportive and the shape of the heel/outsole make this shoe very comfortable to walk in for long periods of time. However, I feel like the leather at the front toe box area is stiff like cardboard so you may need to wear socks or do something to soften it up. Lastly, I hate the pink stitched design! Just so ugly and doesn’t match anything. They should have kept the design simple and classic not whimsical like a clown!

I had high hopes for this shoe which seemed high quality and very supportive. My foot is usually size 8N... in order to expedite matters I ordered 2 sizes: both US Womens size 7 & 8. The 7 was too short and the arch was wrong placement for me. The 8 was the right size and but much too wide even when worn with wool socks and still had too much slippage for my narrow heels.

These shoes feel heavenly, but I couldn't reconcile myself to the style. I typically like something unique (and these shoes are!) but I need something a bit sleeker. And I'm short, so a 2 inch heel is a must. This falls short, and so the shoes made me feel clunky and stumpy. But they would be really cute on someone tall, or if I were a little old lady (which I'll be in the not-too-distant future).

A little loose. But I chose not to size down. Solid go to work in a casual office where you are expected to be on your feet and walking shoe. Got my 10,000 steps the first day I wore them and zero complaints. Highly recommend for comfort and, well, they look fine for the purpose.

This shoe runs true to size. Stop saying that it runs large! That is YOUR fault, and you have no one to blame but yourself!
LEARN your European size, and order it!
If you depend on those faulty size conversion charts, you deserve the extra time and delay of returns and exchanges.
Those charts are nutters, and some doofuses trapped in a long meeting late in the work day threw them out there and made them official just so they could finally get out of there, enjoy their long commute, and go fix dinner for a bunch of offspring who were accidents.
These shoes are in European sizes!
They are true to European size!
So take responsibility for yourself, order accordingly, or pay your reckoning!

These shoes are so cute, and so comfortable. I have spent months, several shoe stores, and several returns at Zappos and other stores, trying to find the right shoes. I thought that finally I had found the perfect shoe for me in the Naot. They're very comfortable and didn't compress my toes, and they have an amazing arch support, with a little bit of a metatarsal pad (but not as extreme as the ones at The Walking Company, which hurt my feet) - I have high arches, so the super-support is nice. The soles and heel of these shoes look just a little orthopedic, but the cute design on the toe makes up for it.
I wear an 8.5 US, so I wasn't sure which size to get, a 39 or a 40. I ordered both, and the 40 ended up being the way to go (but I also wear socks with my shoes). When I wore the 39, my toes hit the end of the shoe. However, my middle toe is longer than my big toe, so my toe-shape doesn't match the shape of the footbed. I'f your toes do, and you're in-between sizes, then it's possible you'll want to chose the smaller option. It might also make a difference if you plan to wear these without socks, or with nylons. Thankfully, Zappos has their awesome return policy, so you can just get both sizes and return the one that doesn't fit.
I love the heel/ankle part of these shoes. While it looks kind of like a tennis-shoe heel, and therefore makes the shoes look a little orthopedic, it doesn't rub or dig into my heel at all. That is part of what won the Naots over for me above Allegrias. Between having plenty of room in the toe, and these heels, I didn't need to break in these shoes at all. Also, the toe-box is nice and long, so if you have long toes like I do, you don't have toe-cleavage showing like happens with some brands with shorter toe-boxes.
I wasn't happy with the velcro straps on these shoes, but it seems that's what everyone is doing these days. However, these velcro all the way along the strap, so I'm not as scared that the velcro is going to wear out and stop working like I've experienced with other shoes. However, one problem I have had with the strap is how narrow it is, it kind of digs into my foot, even when I don't do it up very tightly, and hurts a little bit. With time, I've gotten used to it.
I love these shoes, and I wanted them to work so bad, because they seemed so perfect. However, ever since I first got them, I started having even more problems with my hips and lower back. A month into wearing these shoes every day, I'm now going to the chiropractor 2-3 times a week and we've both been perplexed as to what was going on. I finally realized this all started when I got these shoes.
I bet they would probably work for most people, but I'm back into my old pair of shoes with the super-worn soles now, because I think my back just requires me to have zero-drop soles. So now I'm back to the challenge of trying to find flat-soled shoes with an arch support that are nice enough I can wear in the office, and have wide toe box. Time to try some of the non-sandal Birkenstocks I guess....

I was hoping to wear this shoe as I have plantar fasciitis, and it has room for an orthotic. But unfortunately, my foot is between a 35 and a 36. If this style fits you, you'll get a shoe with a lot of support.

This color is more of a metallic brown / deep maroon than what I would consider violet, but if you are looking for something metallic brown, it's quite pretty. The footbed is very comfortable, but the thin strap proves to be a problematic design. It's a heavier shoe -- so there's more pressure on a smaller area of the top of the foot. I've found it to be comfortable for walking short distances, and definitely comfortable for standing, but walking more than a mile over the course of a day gave me bruises under the straps.

Very well crafted shoe. It fitted funny on the top by the strap...the leather wrinkled, like it had been stretched? Looked awkward...for a shoe that cost this much it should look proper when wearing it.

I wear a 9.5 so I got the 41's. They were too long. I would suggest doing down to a 9 size.

This is not only the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn, but it's extremely attractive as well. That being said, I was surprised by how easily the purple color scuffed off the shoe after only 1 wearing. I exchanged the shoes, and hope the second pair hold up better than the first.

Review Text: With a broken foot, I needed shoes to go with my boot cast. Of course they needed to look good so I could wear them afterward. These fit the bill perfectly and 2 weeks out of the boot I still wear them almost everyday. I have other Naots, and this pair is the best/most stylish. They are perfect for walking here in New York and are SO comfortable, especially for my high arches and instep. I am on my feet all day and my feet feel great. The style isn't super clunky and so looks good with jeans and longer skirts and the red/wine color is great. Only downside is they stretch after a few wearings so my narrow heels slip out; easily fixed with heel inserts but those with narrow feet might find these too wide. And for those with high insteps, the Velcro strap is easily adjustable, but the Velcro can be exposed and you will collect "stuff" in the fiber.

Comfy but scuff easily -
These shoes are very comfy and required no break-in time for me. Some people complain about the strap, but it's Velcro and totally adjustable. When the shoes arrived, the toe already had a tiny scuff mark. I've had my pair a couple of months and they're totally scuffed up now...but this is because I've had all kinds of rowdy FUN in them.

Very Comfortable and stylish -
I am very happy with these shoes. I have these in black. They are comfortable out of the box and I get many compliments on their stylish appearance. The only complaint is that they scuff easily. I hadn't had them on for more than 5 minutes before the toe had a scuff mark. I was also able to find these on another website for a cheaper price - but Zappos did credit me the difference as promised.

Cozy! But needs break in time for strap...
I saw these shoes and loved the design. Also, they are super comfortable and easy to put on and take off. However, I've been getting scraped by the stitching on one of the shoes...wearing socks helps. I'm hoping that this will wear down soon because I enjoy wearing them. I tried these shoes on in a store beforehand to find the right size for me...I usually wear a US size 8, but ordered a US size 7 (in the equivalent European size) - and this fits perfectly.

Fit and size good. A little uglier than I wanted but the deal breaker was the tilt of the sole. There's a raised portion in the middle. The whole point of great support for me is not turning an ankle. I felt it start to turn when I was testing it in the house!!

These run a full size small. I usually order a 39 in European sizes, which usually gives me extra wiggle room in the toe area. That's what I ordered in thes, but they wee too small. The shape of the tor area made me think there would be room for my toes, but such was not the case. I hace a corn on the inside of my little toe, and it hurts, hurts, HURTS in these shoes.

Never having owned this brand before, I ordered a half size larger than usual. It wasn't enough. These shoes are heavy and hard, not soft at all. I do not have any foot issues to speak of except that my feet are broad across the toes. This style looked like it would work, but it did not. I don't think I can return the shoes because I walked around inside my house. What a disappointment! I had such high hopes.

I have had a dark red pair of these for two years and they are my favorite enclosed shoes. I've replaced the insoles once and will probably do so again soon as I have logged MILES in them. The outers have held up well for me and the comfort is the best I've found for dealing with a Morton's neuroma. I liked the shoes so much that I bought the silver toned color about a year ago. Initially I was thrilled with them. The color is great and the surface is holding up well for me. HOWEVER, about 3 months after I'd been wearing them, one shoe began to squeak. Then the other shoe started squeaking also. I looked on-line and tried all sorts of advice on how to make a shoe stop squeaking (powder under insole, thin layer of paper or fabric under insole). I bought replacement insoles to see if that would help. Nothing has stopped the squeak. I asked my shoe repair guy what to do. He repeated all suggestions I'd already tried and said that nothing could be done and the squeak was the result of an air bubble in the sole according to him. I attended a trunk sale by Naot at a local store (where I frequently buy Naots and Keens), brought my shoes in with me and asked the representative what I could do. He suggested same things I'd already tried and commiserated with me about how annoying the squeak was. He said that had I bought them at the store, the store might be willing to offer some kind of compensation. I told him I'd bought the silver shoes from Zappos and he said that there was nothing Naot could offer me to help. I'd love to buy another pair in the brown tones but I'm worried about a squeak developing after I've worn the shoes for some time and when they will no longer be returnable. IF I could be sure to get a squeak-free pair, I'd probably have them in all colors. By the way, I have some Naot boots in black with the same footbed and the same sole and they do not squeak.

I liked these shoes for a month until they started squeaking. Both shoes squeak whether I am walking on carpet or tile. It is embarrassing- I have a new nickname "Squeaky"... I thought spending this much money I would get a higher quality shoe.

I was hoping these would be comfortable based on other reviews, but after wearing these for a couple hours the strap rubs across the top of my foot and makes painful blisters - with or without socks. The strap can only be adjusted a little, and is stiff enough that loosening leaves it sticking out oddly. Way too expensive to be painful!
