My first pair of Frye boots lasted 30 years and fit me like a glove. I could even sleep in them. Wore constantly until the foot leather actually tore. My fault cuz I didnt oil them ever. Now with a constantly changing crippled right foot that was rebuilt 3 years ago and ended up 1/2 longer than the right, couldnt get a size that fit both. Now crippled again, my right foot is 1 longer than my left, at a size 9. I tried on my size 11 boots that arrived 2 days ago. So scared they wouldnt fit again. They both fit PERFECT! The arch is soooo comfortable. At 66 years old now, this pair should last the rest of my life.if my foot doesIf not, I will continue to buy additional sizes, as I have done with my other shoes and boots. Its expensive, but I have to wear high tops for best support. Im going to start wearing them out and about, in my wheelchair. So happy that at home, wearing my new boots, I dont even have to use my walker cuz these give me such great support

I purchased a pair of Frye Harness 12R boots in 1975 and wore them almost daily until the mid 80s! The had leather wrapped heels and the leather strips started falling off. Sadly they are out of my price range today but I would highly recommend them.

The heel came off in my hand the first few times i wore them. Ended up getting them resoled in NH and now i can take them on and off without them falling apart. Now i can say they are a good pair of boots but not without spending another $100 to get them right without a warranty.

I read they are hard to break in. I did not have that happen to me. Fit like a glove from the start. I got my regular size and they fit perfectly. The look and feel of the thick leather. The sole and the heel. And they look great too.

The size was to small, I couldnt even get my feet into them. I ordered a half size bigger then I normally wear to no avail. I was forced to return them.

I've been to many stores and seen and tried on many boots, and none can compare to Frye's harness boots. The quality they have and the perfect shape and good looks can only be found at fryes. I love my boots.

Well constructed boot that looks great. Purchased specifically to use as motorcycle boots and they are wonderful for the purpose. The sole really grips well and gives good stability for keeping the bike up. The boot was a little taller than I was expecting from the picture, which isnt a criticism at all. I have also been please with how easily they pull off. I thought I would be needing to get a boot jack, but the go on and off easily.

Very nice boots, delivered in condition as described. Well-packed by seller. Fit, style, quality all very good. This model of Frye boot is just as I remember from my first pair in the 70s (which I sold in the 80s for spring break money!)

The heel fell off of my boots after wearing them out (dress only) to dinner a few times. Called Frye and they stated they no longer warranty boots worn more than 1 time. With an expensive product like this, youd thing they would stand behind their products.. very disappointing

I had a pair of these as a teen. I wore them after a cousin got them for Christmas and didn't like them. His mother was not happy about it and my mother said she'd buy them so she got them for a good price. I did everything in so much so that years later at my 25 year reunion (now many years back) some of my old classmates said they remembered me being 'taller'. It was these boots! I had them on all the time. We were a shoe poor family. I grew up in WV where I got hand me downs from my older cousins and being the oldest when I left home at 19 for the service to be active duty my brother wore the same boot and used them for even rougher tougher things than I did. He rode motocross with them on! They took it! We resoled them three times as I recall. Maybe more but I doubt it. Are they are great boot! Yes. Anything manufactured can ship out bad ones though so one bad apple doesn't mean they are all bad. Could the great ones be better? Yes in fact they could. I wore the Frye boot of some sort all through the early part of my life. Combat boots, western wear in these 12R boots, and hikers. I own several pairs of others and Frye Earl, a great hiker at a great price. In respect to all said above about these 12R boots I had my problems with the boots sagging! The shaft dips, sags, droops, whatever you want to call it it's bad. Even the pictures of the used ones show this. Heck some of the new ones show and haven't been worn much if at all. The shaft will drop. It won't stand up on it's own and they are difficult to get on. These are a man's boots! If you are an elder like I am now and have joint or hand and grip problems you may run into what I did and struggle with these. I would say get the 8R all these problems are gone. For whatever it's worth I have known people that embroidered their 12R boots and this wing pattern from Harley or some other emblem on the boot shaft shapes it right up nice and holds it up like it should. Frye should offer this even if costs them more and it costs us more! I had to go to Justin Bent Rail square toe wide boots (EE) with the rubber sole to get the pull on holes due to my thumb dislocation problems as a senior so to me the 8R is the solution but I must say they are not as good for riding on my Harley as the Justins with the longer shaft but you know what do you do? You write a review and hope they listen that is what you do. I hope to see Frye offer some pull on and embroider features on an otherwise perfect boot! Maybe the shaft foot enter area could be less 'bell' shaped with better more senior or clumsy oriented pull on. Other than these experiences of mine these are flawless American boots of a timeless design.

I purchased my first pair of Frye's, Campus, in 1975, I loved Frye Boots then, and I still do. I do wish they had lined shafts, but the fit, the look and the comfort are all good. They do take a bit of breaking in, but after getting them on, the hardest part, they feel great.

I owned Frye and other boots in another era. These boots appear to be as well made as they used to be (sad to say that is not true of many other products today). Truthfully, I probably won't give them a taxing workout until Autumn-I don't ride a bike which assuredly they were intended for, it is simply too hot for boots right now. Just wearing them casually now but they are a handsome looking boot and appear to be well made and will wear tough-believe me I have torn up all types of footwear. I look forward to wearing them on a constant basis. As a side note being a big history and Civil War buff I think it is really neat to own a pair of boots that traces its lineage and roots back to the Union Calvary 1863.

I received a pair of Frye 12R Harness boots size 8.5 medium for Christmas. Unfortunately I could not get my feet into them. I called Zappos on the 26th and explained my problem. The lady I spoke to was very helpful and also very patient with me as I was dealing with a technical problem with my computer. To make a long story short, I received my free return shipping label and I already have my replacement boots on my feet. They feel great, not hard and stiff like you might expect new boots to feel. As for Zappos your company and the people are the best there is. It just does not get any better. Zappos will bend over backwards, jump through hoops to make the customer happy. Keep up the good work Zappos.
