Ordered these for my daughter, but the unisex sizing was just way too wide for her. Will be returning them.

The sizing on these classic Vans has gotten progressively worse. They run laughably small now. Order 2 sizes up if you want these to fit.

Bought this shoe to replace another pair I have had for several years. This new shoe has thicker soles and the heel rubs. I also don't feel like I can walk around for as long of periods of time without my feet starting to hurt. I miss the old shoe. This is not a better verison.

I have worn this pair less than ten times. The rubber around the shoe is separating at four different locations. The ankle liner cut into my heel.

I've always worn Vans, these definitely feel smaller than normal, i've worn them twice and would like to return them if possible? I would need a size 11 at least. I also called your customer service line a week prior to shipment to confirm delivery date as I was going on travel, they showed up 3 days late and I was unable to travel with them, pretty bummed all around on the experience.

These shoes squeak. It is noticeable when walking in a relatively quiet place. Maybe its my socks but this is the only shoe I own that squeaks. I had a pair of vans slip ons and they didn’t squeak. I’ll probably donate them if Zappos won’t help me out. Their customer service is always good so I may give them a call first. Fit it a full size small compared to American made boots. I’m a 10.5 in redwing and 11.5 in vans.

Too small. All my vans fit all the same size but these were way too small. Maybe just a defect pair. But they were super cute and easy return..

I forgot that it's impossible to remove the insoles from Vans and that no amount of sizing up will comfortably accommodate an insole for arch support. Of course they look cool, but that means nothing if they're too painful to wear. Bummed.

These are not the same as the Eras that I previously had. Before this shoe had very good quality. The shoe that I received was a half size larger, the tongue was not padded and was very narrow. It was more like the Authentic than the Era. Very disappointed.

I selected these thinking they had more comfort padding and support than the classic Van's. Within the first 1/4 mile of walking in them, my heels were rubbed raw by the material used around the top of the foot entry. It looks and feels like vinyl and is somewhat "sticky" so it creates a lot of friction when walking. (yes i wear them with socks). The box got thrown out so I have to keep them. I'm using Moleskin when I wear them to protect my feet and hopefully they will wear in and be as comfortable as my old classics. I've seen other reviews about blisters at first then they are fine. Looking forward to that day!

This is not the shoe I ordered. The picture shown on the website was a four eyelet shoe. I received a pair with five eyelet. I know it may be no big deal to some, but I looked all over for this particular style and when I found it on Zappos I was elated. Sadly, I am returning them.

We love vans for their quality. But unfortunately after wearing these everyday to school my son's shoes are already falling apart. The front of the rim is detaching from the fabric over his toes. They didn't even last one school quarter.

These shoes were my first Van's purchase. I've worn a size 11 for decades in all types of shoe styles and boots. These felt very small so I returned them and ordered an 11.5 (thank you Zappos for free returns!). Box was marked 11.5 but the shoes inside were 10.5. Sent them back and made another attempt at 11.5. Actually received the correct size but they're still at least half a size too small so I'll be returning them. I give up. I'm going to try a different style / brand.

nice shoe but the size 12 was too tight (short and narrow). I've never had trouble with other size 12 shoes.

Great classic style. Lowest quality construction. This shoes is great if you want a very simple, no-frills classic sneaker. However if you're looking for decent quality at minimum, move on because Vans makes junk. I currently have 3 different pairs of Vans sneakers. These ones (Era Core Classic), a vinyl version and a similar leather version. All three have the exact same problem - the rubber bottom starts separating from the upper within a few months. Everywhere the sole flexes, (mostly around the ball of the foot, on both sides of the shoes) the rubber that overlaps the upper is cracked and peeling away from the upper. If these shoes cost $20 or less, no problem. But shoes costing this much should last more than a few months before they start falling apart. It's unfortunate that Vans quality has fallen so far over the decades. They used to make good quality shoes. Now they make low-quality junk with rubber that can't flex without cracking and glue that doesn't last more than a few months.

I have been wearing Vans since the early 80s. The reason I am writing this review is that over the last year (from 2013-2014), the quality of these shoes has dropped dramatically. Previously, these shoes would last me about 6 months to a year of weekly (but not daily) normal wear. I never skate in Eras, so this is just walking around and driving and stuff like that. The last few pairs I have gotten have lasted 4 to 6 months max. What I noticed changed is that the soles wear down twice as fast. This is especially the case when I wear them to drive my car, which has a manual transmission. Shifting and using the gas kills the rear edges of the soles, which is ridiculous for a skate shoe. Vans needs to maintain a higher level of quality for their sneakers. I feel that their quality is actually going down rather than up currently. I am a loyal wearer of Vans shoes but this is ridiculous because I only wear sneakers when I am off work and relaxing, so not every day, and not all day. I will be looking to other options when my current pair wears out.

Honestly I love the way these shoes fit and look. The only complaint I have is that they are made like complete crap... I go through a pair every 3 months or so because the shoe literally just falls apart. The top fabric gets holes in them, the white sole breaks off from the fabric and the inside of the shoe flakes apart. I'd love to say it's an isolated incident, but I've had 5 of these over the years and it happens to every single one!

I have high arches, but my most comfortable shoes are basic sneakers. I needed a new pair and Soda no longer makes mine, so I decided to try these from Vans. My first concern was how narrow the shoe box was - looked like something slippers would come in. The shoe looked okay (terrible chemical smell though), but as I loosened the laces I felt like there wasn't enough canvas for me to get my foot into. When I tried to put them on, there was no way. Oddly, the length was right and the width was right, there just wasn't enough actual "shoe" on top of the sole. Perhaps for someone with a very flat foot, they might work. Sent them back and I continue my quest for a truly comfortable, good fit, basic sneaker.

As for shipping and service, Zappos went above and beyond to do their part, as usual. However, the shoe itself left me disappointed. I really like vans and have worn then for years, but if you are considering this shoe, get the authentic instead. The vinyl reinforcements under the eyelets make the shoe tight and unforgiving to your feet. The heel is also uncomfortable. Don't get these unless you plan to wear fairly thick socks that protect the heel.
