Incredibly pleased - I ordered this backpack on Saturday night and wasn't supposed to receive it until sometime on Tuesday. Imagine my surprise when it showed up on Monday afternoon. The bag itself is perfect but I'm even more impressed with the service.

JANSPORT BIG STUDENT - I bought this backpack for my son. He used it as his only piece of luggage for a one week trip to London. It expands nicely to accommodate a lot of stuff. Now he's using it for school and likes the area that keeps small items in place. As always, great customer service from Zappos and love the overnight delivery!

Jansport Big Student - I love this backback. It has enough room for all my books and pens and pencils and iPod and whatever else I need to carry. It was also a great deal. Thought it still only has padded fabric straps they are pretty comfy. Though stiff at first.

The Best Backpack EVER! After reading all the reviews on this backpack I bought one for my teenage son who is very hard on backpacks. He loves the wide straps, the generous inside area, and says it is the best back pack he has ever had. I bought a little Jansport daypack thirty years ago when I was in graduate school and I still use it. This company makes backpacks that will last decades. Zappos, I am so glad you have such a wide variety of items you sell. Three cheers for Zappos!

I've been trying to find the right day pack for a long time. Most are too small for the amount of stuff I need to lug around. This bag is the one for me. Enough room for my stuff and it looks good too. A very durable back pack and keeps the water out on rainy days. The shoulder straps are a bit stiff at first, but eventually wear in and feel good. Well worth the money. Get it now!

The first school supply to buy!!! I knew my seventh grader would need a bigger pack than the standard available pack we always find in the stores. This is "THE PACK" for middle school and beyond. He never needs the additional messenger bag he needed to carry last year. It’s one tough pack too! Don’t consider any others!

Cute and Roomy - My mom bought me this backpack for school... and it is very large (I'm slightly a pack rat). It fits all of my books and trapper ect!! The straps are padded and I have no complaints!!!

I got this backpack last year for eighth grade. I like that it is a large backpack. I used one compartment for school papers and stuff and the other one for soccer. The front pocket is great for my MP3 player and cell phone. Now that I am in high school I am going to have a lot more stuff so this backpack will come in handy. I think that Jansport needs to make more colors available though. Overall it is a great backpack and now my 6th grade brother is getting one too.

I bought this backpack (the pink and black flowery one) for my airplane carry-on. It was perfect for my trip all the way to the west coast. It has tons of little places to store things so you can easily grab stuff you need from your tiny airplane seat. Totally Awesome Dude!

This is a great backpack for general use. It sits a bit low on the back. A sternum strap would make it fit better. But you can't beat the price.

The backpack feels good to have, it got a lot of pockets (that's the reason I bought it) and it has a curved strap so you can easily take it off your back, the only thing I don't like is, the bigness, that thing pops out, so if you're small I don recommend it.

Sturdy, well made, just the right number of pockets and compartments for organization. I previously had an identical one that had lasted for years, and bought a new one just because the color had finally faded a little -- still was perfectly sturdy with working zippers, etc., after years of use. I anticipate this one will last and wear just as long.

I love Zappos and have purchased many things from this website. This is a negative review for the JanSport Big Student backpack. I bought it for my 8th grader thinking it would serve her well for at least a few years, but now, merely halfway through 8th grade the thing is falling apart. I was a bit disappointed, frankly, when it arrived and wasn't as sturdily constructed as I'd expected. Now, the zippers are broken, everything is gaping open. Honestly, it's junk. It's annoying to know that I'll have to make her finish her 8th grade year with it as is, but will have to purchase yet another backpack for high school. I thought the JanSport Big Student name brand would indicate an ability to carry a load. Well, no. It's poorly constructed and both she and I are sad about this. It was not the cheapest backpack, and to see it with broken zippers after a mere four months of use, that's not right. It's junk.

This is replacing a JanSport backpack I used for 6 years. This bag has lots of room. Glad to find a new one.

So far, this looks like a sturdy backpack. And it is very roomy inside which was my other concern. There is plenty of room for two big binders, a couple of textbooks as well as notebooks. I am happy with it so far.

I have had this bag for over 13 years. It lays flat, does not have much support, but it is comfortable and light weight. I have used it internationally, and although it is made of fabric it still has no tears or rips. I have tried other bags from the North Face to Tibmbuk2, but always come back to this. It is a definite buy.

They have made the perfect pack for schoolkids! It is large so I wouldn't get it for kids under 12 or so. Plenty of room. Well constructed. Reasonable price. They also have a Lifetime Guarantee against any problems. Doesn't get much better than that.

This product is exactly as it was described plain, functional and bigger than I thought. Good product for busy middle schooler.
