On my feet 9 hours a day, Doc's are the only shoes that can "stand" the test of time for the amount spent. Solid, reliable, comfortable, a real shoe. Love my Doc's!

I absolutely LOVE these shoes. I'd wanted to purchase them for a while but I was worried that they'd take forever to break in like my Doc Martens boots. The first day I wore them I walked 40 minutes across NYC and had no pain. I was thrilled! The only downside is that I can't wear them in the summer because my feet get too hot. Otherwise I absolutely love them and am so happy I bought them.

I love the way the sole feels. Firm yet compliant.

Even though they are made in China, the shoes are up to the standards of all the Docs I have previously owned. Like all Docs, they take a bit of time to break in but it's time well spent.

This is a fantastic shoe! I first purchased this exact brand of shoe over 9 years ago. I wore it every day all day long. This shoe is finally wearing out to the point that I have decided to replace it. Since my first show held up, looked great, and lasted this long, I had to definitely purchase it again as a replacement. Great shoe!

This is my third pair of Doc Martens, I wear them everyday at work, a lot of walking in and out of a body shop and walking through snow. These are my favorite pair so far. I did buy a good quality insole to help with my back problems. I would buy this pair again in a heart beat.

Good looking boot just ran a bit large for my wife. She normally takes a size 6 in tennis shoes but this ran about a whole size larger. I would buy again just the size smaller.

Very durable work and casual shoe. Great for winter months when you don't need a boot but a shoe to keep your feet warm and prevent slips and falls. Great with wool socks added comfort. Can't go wrong. I got ten in nappabnlavk and brown.

Been wearing Doc's since 1995 and these the 8053's are one of the most comfortable styles I've owned. I was so impressed I order a 2nd pair a few days after receiving my initial order. Fit like a glove immediately. Soft leather, top quality mfg'ing. I'm also SUPER impressed with Zappo's overall service. I buy all of my shoes and sneakers from Zappo's....there's no better online company.

I purchased these because I am very short and do not look good in boots because it shortens my legs even more but I love the style of chunky Dr. Martens boots. So these were perfect! I originally purchased these in a UK 6 (or US women's 8) because I usually wear an 7.5 US but it was WAY too big. I exchanged it for a UK 5 (or US women's 7) and it fit perfectly! It is initially stiff and needs breaking in but the leather is so nice and it's been comfortable thus far. LOVE IT!

Great shoes for working in the studio or garden. Good fit and comfortable and they will last for a long time! Comfortable and funky, perfect!

I'm a shoe guy. I probably have over thirty pairs (I know...I have a problem). Point is, that of all those shoes, most of which I love, these guys are my favorite. I don't wear sneakers in public, but these are the go-to shoes for jeans. They're perfect with denim. They're also extremely comfortable and hold up well. I've had mine now for three years and except for some very minor wear and tear, they look nearly brand new. These are not dressy. They're very utilitarian, and I'd feel silly wearing them with nice clothes, but they are absolutely perfect for work or dressing down. I love them so much that even being on this page writing this review, even though the ones I have are nearly mint, I'm very tempted to pick up another pair just in case they decide to discontinue them someday. I have two pairs, the black, and the Gaucho. I love them both but I rarely wear the Gaucho; it's an attractive shoe but the leather is sort of an oiled leather (it reminds me of oilcloth, if you know what that is), which I like, but doesn't seem to hold up to rough wear as well as the black does. Any scuff on the Gaucho is immediately noticed. Sure, you can rub the nap of the leather back down and easily solve most cosmetic problems, but with the black that's unnecessary - they can take a lot more abuse and come up smiling.

I bought these for my husband who works in IT for a hospital company. He is on his feet, walking all over most of the day. Since the first day he wore these on the job, he says they have been VERY comfortable and didn't require any break-in period. He says that his feet and legs and back feel much better since wearing these.

This is the nicest pair of shoes I've ever owned. I was a guy who bought a $60-80 pair of shoes every two years and thought that was fine. Now I know it is worth it to spend more for quality shoes. These shoes ooze quality from top to bottom, and are very well made. If you are someone who needs arch support, you will probably want a different insole, which is great because they're removable. I personally do fine without the arch support. Very high quality, impressive shoe.

Taking a trip in the near future that will require lots of walking, nothing better a good, solid pair of Dr. Martens will do! No "breaking in" period necessary with this pair. Zappos rocks with quick and free shipment options...creating a very satisfied customer, along with the superb customer service is the reason I return again and again.

I have been wearing these shoes for about a week and absolutely love them. I walk around on concrete all day and at the end of the day my feet and legs usually hurt but not since I've been wearing these shoes.

I love these shoes! I got it the very next day and shipping was free. I cannot believe that this is the first pair of Dr. Martens that I have purchased. Day one I wore the shoes on my 10 hour shift. They were very comfortable. I had no issues. I am purchasing a second pair. Zappos, your customer service is flawless!

These shoes are COMFORTABLE right out of the box. There is the usual "new shoe" stiffness in the leather, but I expect that to break in in no time. The soles offer outstanding support and walk-ability. I am a little put off by the "greasy" appearance and texture of the leather, but I am going to go after that with some saddle soap to see if I can make the shoe take a good polish.
