Love these boots. They are substantial in quality and weight. Also seemed a bit tight in the ball of the foot but stretched out after wearing for 1 day. Super cute and I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase!

The leather is much more orange/brown than pictured. The cross band looked flimsy. Sizing was very large, nearly an entire size.

These shoes have decent cushioning and are beautiful boots; however, they are really narrow. I could barely get them on, and when I finally did, they were painfully narrow. The length was perfect, though.

I own many many pair of fryes. This pair was narrow. This pair was nutso stiff. This pair is still ridiculously stiff months later. But I’m devoted, I shall soften this spirited pair with many a journey into the wild world, into the kingdoms of vintage shops, into the Land of NESs, if need be.

These boots are stunning! I am a size 7 and they do run large. I’m exchanging for the 6.5 and cannot wait to slip these on with everything from leggings/skinny jeans and dresses and shorts for summer. Brilliant quality once again from this company. Third pair of Frye boots I’ve purchased and have yet to be disappointed. Woo hoo!!!

These are my first Fryes in decades and why did I wait so long? (well, they are expensive, but I know from experience that you get what you pay for with Fryes). I ordered the cognac in my regular size 8 1/2 medium and they are perfect. Toe box is roomy without being sloppy and my rather narrow heel does not slip around. Room for socks but why? I intend to wear them without and let them conform to my bare foot, which was how it was done when I had my horse all those years ago! I had no trouble getting these on even with my high instep. The leather is exquisite and the harness detailing is so chic yet country. I'm getting mine conditioned because I live in Oregon but not really needed because I know this leather will age well regardless of the weather. And made in the USA. Bury me with my boots on. Go Fryes.

I normally wear a size 9, and ordered exactly that. I have a medium width foot and a fairly high arch and these feel a bit loose at the ball of my foot, but I think an insole or thicker sock will take care of that. My right boot went on easily, but I struggled with my left. The harness strap really was the issue, going over my ankle. Stretching it with my hand allowed me to get it on. Once on, I could easily get it off. I wear cowboy boots a lot (snip toe), and the toe box on these is pretty wide in comparison. The quality is very good. I bought them as a utilitarian boot, and they should hold up well.

Love these boots! The color is gorgeous - warm brown cognac. The leather has a marbled satin patina and is thick but soft - will break in beautifully. The heel height is very easy to walk in (I have knee trouble so can't wear most heels, but these are easy due to the canted back side on the heel which allow a very natural step). I'm an 11 in Frye boots and although some of their styles run a little more snug, these boots fit more like the early Frye Campus styles which run about 1/2 size large, in my opinion, but I don't mind - I just add a Birkenstock arch support and sometimes neoprene insole and then they're perfect. I also like the shorter shaft on these - they don't feel too hot in the summer. These boots are super comfortable and I highly recommend them!

I usually wear a 5 1/2 or 6 size shoe and couldn't find a pair of these boots to try on in a store so I took a chance and got the 6. They fit perfectly! I have worn them for several days for 8+hours at a time with no problems. I'm so glad I finally have this classic in my closet.

I actually got the dark brown oiled leather color, which I love. What I was looking for when I bought these was a throwback to the ones I had in the 70s. These are shorter but truly capture the essence of what I had back then. This is a heavy, rugged boot; the leather is designed to get scratched and scuffed up. I have lots of Frye boots and these are definitely one of my favorites.

LOVE these black with black hardware Frye Harness 8R. For years I wore the Frye Harness 12R in Vintage Brown. I decided to change the look up, while keeping the amazing square toe box (hard to go back to a rounded boot after you meet the Harness!) The black with black hardware felt risky, its a starkly dark look, with no patina/vintage feel. Like someone else said, kind of a moto boot. Classy, sexy, edgy. One thing to note, is I think the processing/dying of the black leather makes it FEEL stiffner, narrower just a bit. I did size up 1/2 size from Vintage Brown in 12 R to this boot and am glad I did. I wore 2 days to work (physical job, on my feet) and there was only a little minimal push on my pinky toe (from stiffness). I am sure they will break in just fine. 100% I would recommend these boots. My favorite all-time Frye boots: Campus 14L, Harness 8R and 12R and Logger 8G.

Truly a gorgeous boot, but it runs a whole size too big. I normally wear a 9 1/2 for a boot, and a 9 for a high heel. Had to return the 9 1/2 for an 8 1/2, which fit well.

Great looking boot, I’m a 7.5, usually get an 8 to be safe, glad I went with my true size-7.5, fits perfect!

I purchased 2 pairs to replace mine that are more than 10 years old. These boots are the best made...period. They only get better with age and scars.

I fell in love with the boots when I opened the box. However, they were just slightly too big for me (heel slippage). I am a size 10 and these were size 10. They also had some strange scratches on the back of the right boot (they were definitely minor scratches, not natural imperfections.) The color and quality was great, I just wish they had fit right.

The picture does not show an accurate description of the color. These boots have a distinct orange color to them;they are definitely not brown as the picture shows.
