I have had a pair of the "original" (not soft footbed) Birkenstock Bostons for 20 years. I'm less enraptured with the new soft footbed version. They feel like they are taking longer to break in to my feet - I've had the new pair for about a year - and they make my feet a lot warmer than the old ones. This can be good on cold days, but it's uncomfortable in the moderate climate where I live. They also feel stiffer and clunkier than I remembered my old ones feeling when they were new. Those are fairly minor details and I would have kept trying with them, except in the last 4 months they have developed an annoying rhythmic"fart-squeak" sound when I walk! Very embarrassing walking into a quiet room! Unfortunately, that's $150 down the drain because it's too late to return. I'm donating them to Goodwill. I wish Birkenstock would bring back the regular footbed version in the Boston clog! :(

I was so disappointed that these would not work for me. I was so hopeful that I also ordered the care kit for the shoes. Unfortunately, something in the footbed caused pain to run into my toes almost immediately. I have to return them. I can't tolerate the pain long enough to break them in.

This Boston Birkenstock is so comfortable! I got it in the soft footbed in a narrow and it fit and felt so comfortable right out of the box. Unless you have a wide foot, I would recommend this one in the narrow because I tried the regular first and it was way too wide. The soft football it the best too, because it feels great right away. Love these shoes! I wear a 9 1/2, I ordered a 40 and they were way too small. Exchanged them for a 41 and they are perfect! Zappos customer service was awesome and very helpful.

Love these shoes! I have had plantar fasciitis and Birkenstocks give me enough support to avoid it. They're comfy enough that I wear them around the house too. They feel a little smaller than my Birkenstock sandals (Arizona) but I still kept the same size in both.

What's not to say about Birkenstock!?!?They are timeless. They've been around for many many years. They are so super comfortable. I can walk for hours while wearing them. They last forever. I have 2 other pairs of Boston that are very old and feel like new!!

Love Birkenstock and love the Boston clogs. This is my second pair. 4 stars for the suede leather because it has a bit of a ragged appearance that slightly detracts from the overall appeal of the shoe. Also the suede requires more upkeep than the oiled leather of my other pair of Bostons. Great arch support, comfort, and shoe. I will buy more Birkenstocks and Bostons in the future.

Absolutely love these these shoes. These are my daily go to. Have been wearing the Boston for over 30 years. I typically get 5 plus years out of them before replacing or having them resoled. Also, the soft foot bed is a must. Totally worth the extra spend. Can go wrong with Birkenstock. Solid purchase.

I have been using Birkenstocks for many many years. I couldn't really do without them. The support and comfort they provide cannot be beaten. I have tried both the regular and the soft foot beds. The soft is definitely more comfortable. The style of course is classic and I don't mind that, but perhaps someone out there can think of a new style. Can't promise that I would like it though!!

I ordered the black suede soft footbed. I wear a 9 1/2 so I went with size 40 narrow. Long story short, my heel didn't fit in the heel cup like it should have, so I opted to exchange for a 41. Customer service was great! Got my exchange the next day and I'm a happy camper!! Can't wait to order a pair of sandals and another pair of Bostons!

I gave these as a gift. They were a definite hit!!! This is a great show in a great style.

I got the last pair in 2008 So this was my second pair These are likely the best shoes that I have ever used Once can use them with scrubs ,with jeans, with shorts and while traveling Now I am using them while traveling in India Previoulsy I have used them in Kauii on the beaches and mountains The best part is that the sole molds to your feet and makes the shoe very very comfortable Moreover they need minimal or no care at all I am looking forward to buying the third pair after 8 or so years :)

After having been recently diagnosed with plantar fasciitis from running I was looking for a good pair of shoes to wear while slowly replacing my other shoes to fit my orthotics. Lots of hours were spent researching and reading reviews on these shoes. Finally made the purchase when one of my rewards came through and so glad I did. They aren't the prettiest things out there but I've come to terms that I have to start taking care of my feet. No regrets.

You just can't beat these shoes! Perfect to wear around the house if you get sore feet walking around on tile. Also great for outside. They last for years and are well worth the money.

I discovered Birkenstock sandals earlier this year. I'm a hairstylist, and work on my feet all day. I found that Birkenstocks are the only shoes I can wear that my feet don't hurt at the end of the day. As the weather started getting colder, I realized I needed a pair of closed toe shoes. I found these, and I've been wearing them since the day I got them. They are so comfortable and supportive. They won't win any fashion shows, but I really don't care at this point.

Love Birkenstocks and have worn them for many years. The Boston is a style I have wanted and have tried to buy for years but the fit is impossible for me. I wear regular width 36 but in this shoe, although the foot bed fits perfectly, the upper is way too loose without enough adjustment to take up all the slack so the shoes literally walk off my feet even with thick socks and on the tightest buckle adjustment. I have ordered in narrow and the foot bed is much too narrow for my foot (which is regular width by the way). So now after ordering and sending back 4 different pair, I give up trying to find winter appropriate Birkenstocks.

This isn't my first pair of Birkenstock Boston's. I purchased these because I wanted the soft foot bed. I have no foot issues. I just love the comfort of all Birkenstock's. I love wearing thick socks during the winter and these are perfect for that. They last many years if you take care of them so the price is worth every penny. Purchase the Birkenstock shoe care kit. I wear a 7 1/2 to 8 and the 38 was a perfect fit.

Don't your feet deserve comfort while you walk. Your feet are worth these shoes! No, they are not hiking shoes. With the soft foot bed, try them on and you will get it! You can always send them back, but you won't.

Loved the color and the look, but not the feel and the fit. The leather of this shoe is very stiff and i have a high instep so it rubbed my foot raw in minutes . Wearing with socks might solve it, but if I have to do that I would rather get the shearling. So re-ordered the suede shearling . SO much more comfy.

I am a florist & stand most of the day. These are super comfortable. I wear them with socks so the fit was perfect.

I am a longtime wearer of Birkenstocks. I love these shoes! I can wear them with or without socks and they just get more comfortable as I wear them.
