I’ve been wearing Birks for years. I bought my first pair in Germany 20 years ago and was hooked. Now I wear Birk sandals in the warm weather and Bostons in the cooler weather. Happy feet!

I don't have a "wide" foot, but regular Birkenstocks footbed just feels better, more "foot-shaped." I wear a 37 R in the Arizona sandal, and that seems to be the correct footbed with the Bostons. However, try as I might, I could not get these sandals to fit. The footbed felt great, but I couldn't walk in them, they wouldn't stay on my feet! (not a problem with the Arizonas). I tried a 37 N in the suede, and it was WAY too small-- and I realized, the Narrow width is actually about a half inch shorter than the regular. So, maybe the 38 Narrow will work for me. I'm hesitant though, because I do like being able to spread my foot out in the regular width... I might also try a 37 R in the oiled leather, as these are a bit stiffer and might allow me to walk in them. Thanks Zappos!

I bought the Arizona in the blue suede with the soft footbed and love it, so I ordered the Boston in the blue suede with the soft footbed. Well, the footbed is comfortable, but the sides of the Boston rub my foot and the toebox is way too wide. I cannot wear a narrow because then the heelcup is too narrow. This is the 3rd or 4th time I've tried a Boston. I guess this style is not for me. I'm a 9 1/2 and the 40 fit me perfectly.

I put these on and never wanted to take them off again! My mind is working overtime figuring out what occasions I can get away with wearing them. Work, no, but out for brunch?: maybe! (Depending on the venue and hangover level). I got the dark green suede in a narrow. With wool socks they are easily the most comfortable shoes in my closet for kicking around. Farmers’ market, here I come.

I love the Arizona’s and they fit the same. I wear a narrow in both. These are going to be harder to break in. I have blisters on my toes from them hitting the top when I walk.

i had read the reviews that said they big and ordered a 40 instead of a 41, I didn't order narrow but adjusted the top strap and they fit well.

I love these Birkenstock’s just as much as my others. I get they may not be the cutest mule/clog out there, but you can’t beat how comfortable they are. I normally wear a 40/Narrow, and that is what I ordered in this style, fits perfectly.

Love these!! So comfortable and the color is dark and earthy!! They seem a bit roomy. I usually wear a 6.5 or 7 and bought the 37. They fit nicely!! Highly recommend

This is my second pair of Boston soft footbed Birkenstocks. The first pair I ordered in size 38 based on reviews and guidance on the Birkenstock site (it was my first pair of Birkenstocks and I'm between a US 7 1/2 - 8). They felt very roomy, but as I was unfamiliar w/ how they were supposed to feel, assumed that was right. I am only now figuring it out after 2 years of pretty regular wear, that they were too big and I was not getting the full benefit of the foot/arch support. My second pair, size 37, are perfect - don't seem as awkward in width but still with ample room for my foot to relax and not be constricted while still being supported. As others have mentioned, there is very little to no break-in period w/ soft footbeds. I was very rough on my first pair - I wore them in the rain, got them soaked doing yard work in them, wore them in snow, did city walking - they held up great and the cork didn't get ruined. Recommend!

Hi! Love these shoes! I wear Arizonas all summer and wanted a winter shoe. I had plantar fasciitis for three years and have a large bag of boots, braces, balls, ice packs, etc to prove it. (Religious downward dog yoga stretching is what finally fixed it.) Anyway, I do not want to go back there, so I rarely go bare foot. I bought these for weeknight and weekend wear. I’m a solid 7.5 women’s shoe and love the Arizonas in 38 narrow. Unfortunately, my long toes hit the suede in the 38 narrow Bostons. I went up to a 39 narrow and they turned into the dreamy Birks I hoped for. I wish they had gray suede but went with the dark green instead. That color is very rich, dark, and unobtrusive as Birks can get. Love them!

I listened to what everybody else said ordered narrow, have a medium wide foot and there’s plenty of room in a narrow. Had I ordered medium with I’m sure I would’ve been returning. I also ordered the port color and it’s a little bit more like rust but I’m keeping it.

Different dye lots . I just purchased these Birkenstocks and I was wearing them outside today for the first time and noticed they’re different shades of black Suede. When I rub them so they’re in the same direction they’re still different colors dye lots.

Just thought you should know someone’s not looking at the shoes before ahipping out or Birkenstock is not matching dye lots carefully so the shoes match each other.

The first order was contianed in a plastic bag. The shoes felt very narrow and one shoe felt a whole size smaller. I called Zappos and Judith was a great help! She suggested that I may have received a defect pair and she sent me another pair overnight. The second pair were housed in a Birkenstock box and fit perfectly. I wear the same size and width in the soft sole in the open toe version as I do in the closed toe version. Both fit without a sock or with a thin sock. So comfy! Can’t beat real Birks! And I appreciate the great Zappos customer service.

I ordered my normal size 9 but went with narrow and glad I did because M would have been way to wide. My foot is not narrow but not super wide either so I will probably wear a thin sock in cooler weather. They are comfortable to wear. I bought the port and they are a bit of rust color but I like them.

It took about a week to break them in. I love the support it gives my feet.

They looked used and worn ! With a stain on the right shoe. I can’t believe these were sent to me!! Compared to the wide buckle sandal they were huge in my size! So disappointed in shoe and inspectors!

Fits like a glove. I have tried every comfort shoe, as someone who works on my feet all day, and nothing beats a Birkenstock. With the soft footbed, there really isn’t even a break in period, which is great. These shoes have ruined me for everything else.

I'm a slim-footed 6.5 and there is NO way 37N is my size—I was swimming in them. 36N is too wide without socks but perfect with. It's a clunky looking shoe alright, but you know that already if you're buying Birkenstocks. Green suede is beautiful. Love the lightly cushioned footbed.

This was my first purchase of Birkenstock Boston. I had tried Birkenstock shoes before but without the Soft Footbed and they weren't comfortable for me. The Soft Footbed on the Boston was perfect and the adjustable strap was a real plus. I am very pleased with my purchase!

This is my first pair of Boston’s. I’ve been wearing Arizona’s for over 25 years; as a matter of fact I just retired my first pair!( I did have them re-soled once). I’ve wanted to try Boston’s for some time. Why did I wait so long! This is my first pair of Birks with the soft footbed. Very comfy, although I’ve never felt that the regular footbed needed much breaking in. I wear a 35regular in the sandals, however I wanted a little extra room for socks and got the Bostons in 36 regular. Super cute with jeans and leggings!
