The fit is perfect for me. I have rheumatoid arthritis and experience back problems without good support in the shoes I wear. I wore Birkenstock’s years ago, it’s good to back in them! The soft bed is the best! There is no breaking in, I normally wear a size 8 medium, I ordered an 8 narrow soft bed, and it is a perfect fit. They are very comfortable, they feel like I have been wearing them for months already! I ordered them in the Port Suede, this color will work well for me, it’s a deep burgundy color, looks great with jeans. And how about Zappos great service! My orders arrive super fast, and if you have to return an order, they are just as nice to you as when you placed the order. They are kind of like the Starbucks of the shoe world! Thanks for the great service, Zappos!!

Thevshoes wore great l, but Xappo’s sent the wrong pair. Paid extra for soft foot bed. They sent the regular hard footbed after I paid extra.

I was really worried about purchasing these event though I love Birkenstock sandals (and have too many to count), I've never owned their clogs. I decided to purchase from Zappos due to their free return policy, just in case I didn't like them. I LOVE THEM and why haven't I purchased them sooner! These are by far my most comfortable clogs I have ever owned. I did get the Black Amalfi Leather and thus wore them around the house occasionally to gently break them in before wearing them out only because the leather seemed really stiff to me. Other than that, they are perfect and I love wearing my handknit socks with them!

Loved this style but my 39 regular was way too full/wide in the toes and way too narrow from the arch to heel. Sadly, they went back.

It fits a little big - needs some way of tightening the top strap more. The arch support is awesome. I've been wearing Birki's exclusively since 1998 and love 'em!

I am a big fan of the Birkenstock sandals and own several pair. This year I decided to order the Boston clog and was a bit too late as my size was out of stock in the colors that I liked best. I decided to try the navy suede and found the exterior upper to be a little too floppy for my taste; I like the stiffer leather uppers much better. The soft footbed is amazing and I wear a smaller size (38) than my typical 8 in order to have that wonderful "heel-hugging" feeling. I also find that the narrow is a must in these unisex shoes even though I'm usually a size M. I returned the shoes mostly because of the color. I wanted to wear them with jeans and the blue isn't a true navy-it needed to be a bit darker. Zapppos- thank you for being such a great hassle-free company- your customer service support is excellent!!!

Needed a casual slip on! Always wear 10-11 or Euro 41- this shoe just barely accommodated the back of my heel-so glad it did. Can wear a thin pair of wool socks with the narrow size. Nice amount of room in the toe box! Like the look & feel of the leather.

Bought the 5 the Mocha. First time ever buying Birkenstocks so I had to order SEVERAL to get a feel for fit and color. Narrow for Birks is really more like slightly wide. Wide is very wide. The mocha color is really rich and yummy. Definitely need to wear with thick socks.

These are awesome shoes with great support. I'm a true women's 8.5 and ordered a 39N and they fit perfectly. Love the comfort and support. JUst had a baby less than 3 weeks ago and these are what I wear all the time. My only probelm was the light beige suede showed a lot of stains in the less than 3 weeks I had them. On a whim I contacted Zappos customer service thinking that it would just be the usual you should've known, it's a light color, blah, blah. Nope, they exchanged for a darker color and I just am in awe of the customer service provided. Thank you Zappos!!

I'm a pretty true 8.5 womens shoe and ordered the 39N and it is a perfect fit. I just had a baby a little less than 3 weeks ago and these are my everyday all day shoes. I love them. So comfy. The only thing I'm not happy about is the light suede color is already showing lots of stains and I don't like that at all. Considering contacting zappos regarding that. Other than that though, these are perfection and are a dream to wear!!

I first ordered my Bostons in a size 42 narrow because I wear a size 11 average width in women's. When the first pair arrived, they were perfect as far as width but far too short in length. My entire heel hung out the back. I quickly returned them and ordered a 43. Unfortunately, the oiled leather wasn't available in 43 narrow so I got stuck ordering mocha suede. The 43 narrow arrived today and they fit well even with thick, boot socks. These are my first pair of Birkenstocks, so I'll have to see how it goes. I wanted a comfortable pair of shoes to wear this Fall, and these appear to fit the bill. My only complaint about the suede vs the oiled leather is the suede arrived looking very worn. I checked the bottoms of the shoes and they appear to be new and unused, so I'll keep them.

I was really excited to receive these but unfortunately my buckle was defective and the button holding it place was completely broken off (hence the 4 star rating, surprised due to the cost of the shoe!). Customer service was excellent and my new pair is on the way and issued me a $25 credit. I was able to get the black suede I originally wanted but was sold out (the taupe is lovely too and versatile). These are super comfortable, first time ordering narrow in Birks but glad I did because they look nice and slim. Soft foot bed feels great, they fit well with or without socks, perfect for fall!

Great fit for my "skinny" feet. Many times slides/clog type shoes are much too wide. The narrow fit in my normal size 40 is perfect in this style.

I bought both the narrow and regular, to be safe. The Narrow seemed short and wouldn't work as well with thicker socks as the regular. As I intend to wear these in the cold weather, I need to be able to wear socks (plus they look cute like that). Yes they are a bit clunky, but I love my Birks and how they feel on my feet, so this 65 yo Grammy will be lookin hip w/ my socks and sandals look all winter. I love them with my standing desk at work, work with my bunions! I got the Havana Oiled Leather and love them, nice dark brown. I have the strap to the last hole for now.

Standard high-quality Birkenstock. Soft suede footbed. Thick shiny black leather. This is my first covered-toe Birkenstock - the shiny black toe is a little large looking. My husband calls them Mickey Mouse shoes. Made in Germany. A classic birkenstock.

Bought for step daughter who needed an inside shoe with strong support: mission accomplished! She is reportedly “floating on air”, feels her whole foot is beautifully supported with this finely crafted sole Birkenstock is famous for!

I'm struggling with a case of plantar fasciitis and read somewhere that Birkenstock Soft Footbed shoes help. Well - it's true. I've been guilty of walking around on my hardwood floors and the podiatrist said that has to stop. So I bought the Boston in Black to use at home and have conditioned myself to wear them when I'm not in bed. They provide such great support that I got yet another pair of Bostons - this time in Green because I want a pair to wear outside and one just for home. Yes, I still have plantar fasciitis, but I'm now wearing shoes to support my recovery. Thanks Birkenstock for a wonderful shoe that didn't require a long break-in period. And thanks Zappos for carrying the Boston is narrow - the only width I can wear.

I so wanted these navy blue suede, historic and sexy while utilitarian (beauty is in the eyes of the befooted) Birkenstocks to be my Fall answer to...well...everything. While I love the style, the pesky side panels under the strap and buckle curled, and would not stay flat as I walked. Perhaps the leather versions or a thicker or sturdier suede could prevent that? I am a lifelong Birkenstock wearer and this little blip in my fit preferences will not change that.

What’s not to love about comfortable shoes....and Zappos. Birkenstock’s may not be uber-fashionable but boy do they feel great. Comfort is everything when you’re 61! I’ve got wide feet and the regular width is perfect. Thanks for speedy service Zappos. :-).
