It's a very comfortable pair of shoes but i have to send it back because it is little short. The other downside about this pair is that it's chunky looking.

Frighteningly frumpy! I was pretty disappointed in both the look and the lack of comfort - they are on the way back, sadly.

I tried the size 8 and my toes touch the end of the shoe, the 8.5 is 1" too long for my foot and the front across my toes is loose and sloppy - can't believe that much difference in 1/2 size - really sad at the poor sizing and high price.

I read a lot of the reviews before purchasing these. I have high arches and plantar problems and hoping that these were going to be just as comfortable as my other Mephisto shoes. These were a big disappointment. These are not comfortable at all and there is no arch support. I will be returning them.

What other reviewers say about the heel of this shoe fitting strangely is true. I'm pretty easy to fit in shoes, but have never had a pair of shoes with such an odd/uncomfortable heel design. The shoe in the heel just does not come up high enough, hits at an odd place. And fits uncomfortably. These are super cute, just not designed well for fit.

Flat and very little support. Better than the Santana model. I thought these would have the support of a trainer and look nicer for Europe travel. They are clunky but not as bad as a running shoe. They are very flat, although, they appeared to have some lift to the heel. Orthotics do fit. In may case the shoe is too flexible and too flat. I do like that the heel can be loosened to lessen pressure on Achilles tendon.

I gave 3 stars overall because I couldn't wear them outside to give a true test. My normal size is 8.5 Medium width. I heeded reviewers' advice and ordered a 7.5. The 7.5 fit but my toes ever so slightly hit the end and undertops of the shoes. The only support I noticed was the cradling of the foot and perhaps that would help with overpronation. I wouldn't be able to fit in an orthotic with this sizing, so I'd have to order up a half size. They are lightweight and they are the type of sporty Mary Jane I'm looking for for a June trip to London, but they didn't make the cut. They felt comfortable for around-town errands and such, but I could never get away with these for a serious walking shoe without more trials of sizing, etc. I only gave one star for comfort because, again, I couldn't give them a true test because of the fit. This was my first look at Mephisto. And while I'll check them out further, I was surprised to see nothing special in this shoe.

I have three pairs of these that I've had (and worn) for a long time, and have just bought a fourth in the same size that I'm going to return. It doesn't fit as well as my others (seems shorter and narrower); while I'd like to try another pair in a half size larger, the site doesn't have one in the color I want. I did notice that, while my old ones were made in China, the new ones are from Thailand - maybe the lasts didn't travel well.

A lot of fun to look at but not the right shoe for an MBT (original -- pre-2008) wearer. Feels empty, not enough padding and arch support.

The lighter color was out of stock so I ordered these to test the fit. They run wide, especially in the heel. There is even a strap around the back to adjust the fit and no matter how tight I made it my heel still moved from side to side in the shoe. Had to return.

Looking for a good walking shoe for a trip to Italy - liked the style and color. The fit was good and supportive, but the high pull tab on the heel rubbed to a blister.

I wanted to love these shoes because they\'re super-cute and on another foot they might be comfortable, but for me they weren\'t. I have really high arches and there wasn\'t enough arch support. I considered putting in a special insert but for this price, shoes should be perfect from the get-go. Plus, the heel came up too high in the back for me. Someone with a normal foot would probably love them, though!

I was quite disappointed with this shoe, very hard, and no flexibility. I work on my feet all day and this shoe just doesn’t do the job. It’s a nice looking shoe, but I was looking for comfort.

I don\'t normally require extra arch support but I had to add insoles to these shoes because they were so flat.

I found the shoes comfortable for short walks or around town but I tried wearing them as walking shoes in Paris and they were not adequate - not enough cushioning and I caused blisters. So of you want a cute pair of sporty shoes to wear to the store they are great but not for a serious day of walking. Also, don\\\'t wear when it is wet out as they bled on my socks.

Disappointed in this purchase. I'd been looking at them for months trying to decide on a color combination, and setting the money aside for double what I would normally spend on an athletic style shoe. And, well, they're OK. Not as cushioned as a Nike but conforms to the foot. I bought them with the intention of wearing them without socks but the insides are really rough and my feet sweat like crazy! I am not a sweaty foot person, so this is somewhat of a shock. I do get lots of compliments on them, but they aren't as comfortable as I expected them to be from the reviews. Also, I did have to return them for a half size smaller then I usually wear. For this money, or whatever, I think they are way to expensive for what they are.

Very disappointed with the fit. The soles are very hard, no give and did not seem comfortable at all. I wear Danskos and appreciate the benefits of a firm sole but his is not it. The sides came to a point by the strap and pressed into the side of my foot. I knew within seconds that these would not be comfortable to walk in for any length of time.

I needed to order a sneaker that I could wear with dresses...and these looked like they would work. At first fit I found them hard with no comfort and little arch support. I think they look kind of cute with cute knee socks and long dresses/skirts...but I'm not feeling the comfort. For the price I should feel comfortable, and the strap feels hard on my foot. It’s probably just that it doesn't work for my feet.

I am so disappointed with this shoe. While it fits well and is good-looking, the insole is so hard (not only no arch support but also none for the rest of the sole) that I know it would be uncomfortable for me to wear walking in an urban environment, which is why I bought them. Why is it so hard for me to find a comfortable walking shoe?

Walking shoe lacks flexibility - The order was delivered within 24 hours! The cut out across the arch is exactly what I need to avoid interference with the cyst on the top of my foot. The fabric and design are nice. The sole is too rigid and does not flex enough to make walking easy or quiet. To be an expensive shoe, I was turned off by the need to purchase an arch support to make it a real walker. I need it for the cut out, so I use it.

Not so great - If my feet were not so thin they would be more comfortable. I needed to add special insoles to make them fit better. So I feel they are expensive for a shoe that is not perfect for me. Everyone told me how great Mephistos are...but not for me.
