These shoes run large, but that's good if you want to wear an insole. I would have kept them except for two things: the mesh part was too airy for me and my feet got cold just walking around the house (and I live in CA)! Also, I wasn't happy with the white soles, but would have kept them if my feet weren't cold.

The good: these are totally cute, especially in the dark brown; they are also a little wider than normal in the toe, which is great for me (I’m in between a medium and a wide shoe). The bad: ALMOST NO CUSHIONING. The sole is extremely uncomfortable for a walking sneaker. If I can find an insert that gives me a little softer sole I’ll keep them. Otherwise back to the store. Too bad — I love the way they look and have adored the last two pair of Nicos I’ve owned. They just seem to have gone downhill, and they are rather pricey to be uncomfortable.

Adorable shoes. A sneaker that really doesn't look like a sneaker. I was expecting a little more arch support than they provide so I may need to add custom inserts for long walks. They seemed a bit large at first but my feet tend to fluctuate in size throughout the day. I liked that I could just adjust the strap for a better fit whenever I needed it.

Great color, not as comfortable (cushy) as I had hoped but ankle and heel strap make fit very adjustable. They are a bit clunky looking on my feet but light and would be good for traveling.

nice shoes, always like these, but this shoe material is too soft to support the outer side of my food in place. maybe if leather...

I am 32 but have sensitive feet prone to swelling/overheating, and need very comfortable and cool shoes. With a few adjustments these should be great. They have no arch support, but easily accommodate an insert (I put one underneath the removable insole). This does, however, cover up the lower mesh portion of the shoe, leading to a tad less breeziness. The edge of the top Velcro strap jabs me in the tendon at the front of the ankle/top of foot when I walk, but adding some thin padding underneath that will be easy and completely solves the problem. The inside of the shoe is mostly comfortable without socks, with the exception of a single rough seam (above the little toe area) that rubs a bit when it folds in and may need covering up. It is not uncommon for me to make small alterations to footwear to ensure total comfort - they key, for me, is finding a well-made shoe that doesn't need major changes, and this fits that bill. I've never before seen a sneaker-like shoe with an adjustable back portion, and I think it's just brilliant. Many shoes curve too far in above the heel and press into my Achilles (hello, Skechers) and this makes it a complete non-issue. Awesome design. Be aware: the Cemento color is NOT buff/bisque as it appears in the photo. It is a true cool medium grey (not beige in the slightest), which is what I was hoping for, so I adore them. Do an internet search and you'll see a few photos that are more true to color. They're super cute. Overall, I think the price is slightly too high considering the somewhat hard footbed with no arch support. The descriptions definitely had me expecting a cushier footbed. However, since it is quite difficult to find comfortable airy shoes that aren't open sandals, I can deal with it. I'm tempted to purchase a second pair in black, but the price is somewhat prohibitive.

I wear a 9.5. The 9.5 was too big and I exchanged it for 9 and the length was fine but shoe is too wide.

cute shoes but not enough arch support. I had high hopes for these but without the arch support my foot would be fatigued.

I love Zappos. Your website is friendly and easy to navigate. The speedy delivery and customer service is outstanding. The Mephisto Niro Allrounders I ordered fit well and look great. They provide moderate arch support and they are fine for a few hours out and about, but I probably won't wear for them long walks.

I have been nuts about comfortable red shoes and have tried a lot of styles and brands. Finally, I thought I would spring for the famous holy grail of comfort shoes: Mephisto. I ordered two sizes because other reviews said not to size up (as I have been doing for most shoes). Yeah, not that generous in length, but if you go for the larger size they'll be roomy enough for socks -- and I don't think the liner feels so great barefoot. The structure of these obviously has more general support than many sandals, but I'm looking right at them, and there is no arch support, just a tiny blip in the liner. In go the orthotics.

I bought this shoe to work in, but it does not have enough support, especially in the front of the shoe. I will keep it for casual wear though. They are a nice pair of shoes but I wouldn't buy any more of them.

I bought these shoes for my daily commute which involves a 1 mile walk each way. These are much cuter than sneakers and much more comfortable than my other casual shoes. I can wear them with pants and skirts with and without socks/stockings. I think that they run a bit large and also wide. The width is one of the biggest problems for me because I cannot tighten the velcro closure enough for an optimal fit. I also think that these shoes are pricey.

Shoe is easy on and off, but it is a bit too roomy (and I don't have a narrow foot). It also looks kind of clunky, like it is a size larger than it is. It's very comfortable to walk in; I bought it for summer walking in the city and mountains. If I could, I'd get a half size smaller next time. Otherwise it's a pretty good walker.

I need a vacation shoe that will be comfortable all day and good for walking over all sorts of terrain. I like these a great deal, though I'm not a big fan of camouflage. They don't breathe and I think work better with socks. I had to go down half a size to get the right fit and they run a little wide.

Not up to expected Mephisto quality...pricey for what it is, the materials used and construction of the shoe. The removable insert that is supposed to provide cushioning was really thin and did not cushion my feet at all. I could feel cobblestones under my feet. I needed to add my own additional layer of cushioning material, but to do that I needed to go up 1/2 size. Once my own additional cushioning was added, the shoe was comfortable and I wore them out of the box for several weeks of walking and light hiking around China. Two strap system was nice for adjusting shoes for hiking up and down hills. Nice wide base for foot stability. I thought Mephisto used to be made in France, these are made in China, so not sure why they cost so much.

In my experience, the mapping from European to US sizes is highly variable (and therefore frustrating to me the customer). I wear a perfect size 11B. Mephisto mapped this to a Euro41 but these are too short by one size. The tricky part is, different manufactures have different mappings!

These are really cute, but not nearly as comfortable as I hoped they would be for the price and the name brand. More of a hanging out shoe than a serious walking shoe--which is OK, except I didn't need to spend a lot on something like this. There is virtually NO cushioning on the insole. The sole is relatively good, and the rest of the shoe is very comfy. Just not nearly enough padding for walking, which is what I really bought them for.

These shoes are a bit clunky looking, but I was seeking shoes that would work with a new brace that needs a shoebed that can be adjusted so that one foot is adjusted narrower and the brace foot is bigger. The adjustable heel strap, the removable insert and the wide toe box with adjustable top strap made this work for me. It is a very stable shoe and looks good with jeans.

I really loved the style of these shoes on the website. I usually wear a size 7M. I ordered blue in 37. I loved the color but the shoes are not as comfortable as i hoped for. First my toe is touching so it is definitely a half size smaller, and also there is no cushioning. For the price I would have hoped that I would be walking on the clouds if it came in half sizes may be I would have considered ordering a different size, but no luck there. They are returning back. The color is so beautiful.

I really wanted these shoes to work out. Unfortunately, I had to send them back. The size was considerably larger than other Mephisto styles I have bought and loved. Also on this one particular style, the printed material, which looks adorable, seems a bit rough and I could feel that with walking, would rub my heel. I do love the high quality of Mephisto and I have several pair, one of which I bought a couple years ago styled very similar to this, but the lining was a soft leather, not the scratchy material I found this one to have.

I tried The Niro by Mephisto a year ago in a size 36, Recently saw this shoe came in smaller sizes (35.5 & 35) So I thought I would try again, Unfortunately, had to return as the support in these shoes is really lacking for my problem feet! I ordered a 35.5 which is my true size and they fit great. Due to very problem feet, I need a lot of support for walking any length of time and these Niro's simply do not deliver for support. I loved the look! So sad they did not work for me on a second try, my search continues for a casual shoe for lots of walking! Going to put on my Brooks Addiction and walk a few miles! Thank you Zappos for your exemplary customer service!

I have been wearing this shoe for years! I wear orthotics and they fit right in, even with my wide feet! They look cute with or without socks so they can be worn with jeans or capris! The only complaint is that the souls wear out very quickly, considering the price I would have liked them to be more durable!
