The shoes were scratched up and definitely seem to have been used. I am very dissatisfied, since I bought them as a gift and will need to return them.

I read a review that said these shoes run big, so I ordered my regular size, 9 Wide. Could barely squeeze my foot into them. I normally would reorder a half size larger, but they were so tight, I am ordering a full size larger, 10 W (I would order WW if it was available). Will report back on the sizing after I receive the new shoes. P.S. I had to fill in the blanks on Overall Rating, Comfort, Style, Quality in order to submit this review. Please pay no attention to that. I have no opinion yet until I actually have a shoe I can wear. I think I'll be very happy once I get the sizing right.

I bout a pair of sperries from one of outlets stores in Tampa Fl the worst decision I made for my feet. I wore them for 1 week on my vacation and sun after I developed Morton neuroma on my feet. The shoes feel flat and feet hurts so much . After two shoots of cortisone and so mutch money for special inserts and new wide special shoes my feet still hurts. Never had previously issue with my feet only when i purchased my first and never again Sperry shoes

These boat shoes are no where near the quality they were in the 1970s. They look and feel very soft and cheap, not much more robust than gift shop mocasins. Leather (?) and stitching is quite thin. They look old and worn very quickly. Sizing is terrible... you have to go half to full size up in length and in width. Sole fit to shoe is sloppy with too much sole sticking out in front. You might get a year out of them, I imagine much less if you actually used them when sailing boats, then uppers and stitching is trashed. Back in the US-made era, these lasted for years and long enough for some people to even have them re-soled! Availability is terrible... regardless of seller, many sizes and widths seem always Sold Out. Outsourcing and penny-pinching by Sperry (and also Sebago) have RUINED the boat shoe brand. So sad. I would still buy a pair for casual use MAYBE for $30 to $40. But $90+ is robbery for such poor quality cheap shoes. I am extremely skeptical of all the 5 star reviews. You should be too.

The half insole in the shoe comes unglued and cannot be replaced. Secondary market insoles do not fit this shoe well.

These shoes fell apart after six months the rivets popped out. Very disappointed in quality. I have one this brand since I was a teenager and never had quality issues. Maybe I just got a bad batch of shoes. I will probably buy again.

Quite comfortable at first, but after a year and a half of moderate wear, the soles have transformed into hard, crumbly rubber. They are so slick that I nearly slipped and fell on a dry wooden surface. Wood! These shoes are now completely worthless. This is totally unacceptable. I am pursuing the issue with Sperry, but needless to say, I'll never purchase a pair of their shoes again. If you need boat shoes, spend $25 more and get Allen Edmonds. They use better leather, and their rubber will not turn into deathly slick plastic junk after a year and a half.
I'd also recommend:

I love these shoes. I had either this exact pair or a very similar style a while back that I wore all the time so I decided to get a new pair for the upcoming warm weather season. I bought a pair of these and the sewing came undone after only 2 weeks and like 3-4 wears. They're practically brand new and splitting wide open. It's unfortunate because I like this style and I like Sperry in general. The shoe fit and looked great while it lasted. Maybe it's from a bad batch or something because I notice a similar review on here. Really disappointing.

Bought these two months ago to replace a pair that lasted almost two years. The sewing on the toe is already coming undone. Not pleased with the durability.

Sperry docksider, not what they where just a few short years ago....now they have been cheapened, in the materials and workmanship. I will never buy again online...the interior was cheapened the most, within a few weeks the sole on the inside had flacked away, reveling The EVA pad inside the shoe.....first time that ever happened!,,,,no thanks, never again !,,

I bought these last year for this summer and noticed the sole was yellow; I thought it must be a design change...nope. In a few weeks I noticed a pitting in the soles, then the right sole cracked all the way across the ball of the foot, then the left sole started dropping chunks of rubber, it appears to be dry rot. Too bad Sperry was my go to for 30 years.

Sperry seems to be cutting corners as the inside padding stops 2/3 of the way in to the shoe and is uncomfortable around the toes where there is less padding.

Watch out! No satisfaction guarantee! I own 3 pairs of these shoes in different colors-- navy, white, and brown. My brown pair i have worn for about 2 years very lightly (not even my primary boat shoe) and only wore boating once. I bought the brown pair as an overlap/replacement for another brand boat shoe that was on its way out so these weren't worn much for the first year. The rubber sole is already tearing away from the leather upper by quite a bit mostly after wearing out on the fishing boat. These shoes truly do not stand up to their name! I am not satisfied with these shoes in terms of durability and they have not stood up to the test like other boat shoes from Well known brands!

I have bought many pairs of these shoes over the years. I like the style, and I like the comfort. However, I am now on my THIRD pair in a row that have developed a squeak when I walk. It sounds like I am stepping on a got dam squeaky toy every time I take a step. All three pair have developed the same problem where the leather underneath the ball of my foot seems to separate from the rest of the sole and turn into a miniature whoopee cushion. The first two developed the problem after getting soaked with water--so I figured it was my fault--but the current pair has never been wet! I like these shoes, but for $95 I expect them to be better quality. So disappointing!

I don't understand why you can't get sizes right. I find it very stressful to order shoes that aren't even close. This is unexceptable. Please let me know you care enough to do it right.

Love the shoes. However, after only wearing them for three months, the insoles are coming out. If they would stay in place I'd give them 5 stars

The shoe fit a little small and looks nice. I ended up with blue leather dye on my feet after, which feels indicative of low quality manufacturing.

I've been wearing Sperry Top-Siders for over 30 years. Once broke in, they are the most comfortable shoe I own. You will rarely see me in anything except Top-Siders. However, it seems Sperry has made some changes in design, or Sperry's new manufacturer is cutting corners. I just got my new Top-Siders and am very disappointed. Right out of the box, the leather in the foot beds started rolling up when removing my foot. A little Shoe Goo and that problem was resolved. Then I noticed the shoes felt uncomfortably tight. Took some measurements of my new Top-Siders and compared with my old. Sperry has narrowed the width of the shoe by one-quarter inch as measured at the sole. The length of the shoe heel-to-toe measured at the sole is three-eights of an inch shorter. Why did they do this? Has there been some kind of international shoe size change in the past few years that dictates that a 10M be shorter and narrower? Or is the manufacturer cutting corners? My old pair of Top-Siders were manufactured in China. My new pair were manufactured in the Dominican Republic. I have no choice. I will have to return the shoes. I have no idea what I'm going to replace them width. If I stick with Sperry's, I guess I'll have to go to a regular store with a ruler and start measuring. This review is based on problems with the shoe only and not on the service provided by Zappos which is always top notch.

Ordered 2 different pairs both in wide width. Unfortunately, much too narrow and both need to be returned. Sadly, this was a gift and am really disappointed.

Pretty terrible shoe. I will be looking to return these if I can. They are made of cheap un-flexing leather that will are not like any other pairs of Sperrys I have had. Do not buy these.
