I have had and enjoyed many pairs of sperry boat shoes. I usually have 3 pairs on hand, an every day pair, a go on the bat pair and a go to dinner pair. This last pair of sperry boat shoes are not the same as the ones I have had over the years. This pair appears to be cheaply made and are uncomfortable so I rarely wear them. The shoes are made differently from the left foot to the right foot and don't have the same shape. I have been very disappointed in this pair of shoes and will be hesitant to purchase another pair once I wear out the ones I already have.

The worst. Uncomfortable. Stiff. The most over-rated shoe ever. Ended up donating them. Got Allbirds instead.

I recently bought a pair of these shoes as I had wore my previous Sperry boat shoes out. Man, was I disappointed with my purchase. What has happened to the quality of this shoe? I've had numerous pairs of these boat shoes over the years and the quality and fit have been excellent. I've had my latest pair of "wide" shoes for a couple of months now hoping they would break in, but every time I wear them I get blisters on my little toes from the stiff leather. In addition, the insoles have already come unglued. In the past, I paid up for this brand of boat shoes. I'm not sure I will continue to do that with the decline in quality.

Sperry Topsiders used to be a very reliable (if expensive) choice. No longer. There is a leather insole that never used to cause any problem, but now that leather seems to be of a lower quality; it no longer stays shiny and clean. BUT ... the worse problem is that the insole further down, under the toes is of a different material and it is all underlain by some goofy 'cushiony' stuff that's probably intended to make the shoes more comfortable for walking around but is just bunches up under the toes and makes the shoes really unsuitable for anything. Also, the elaborate (and necessary) detailed stitching, where the upper/tongue is attached to the sides is gone; just a couple of loops of stitching now. Such a disappointment. When it was a smaller company, they made a perfect product. Now they're a subsidiary of a subsidiary and they have completely lost their way. Lots of styles and colours now. Great. Couldn't they have continued to offer the originals unmodified? Boo for mega-corps, mergers, and acquisitions.

I've been wearing Sperry Top-Siders since the 1980's. They were always my favorite shoe, most comfortable and lasted years. I purchased a pair about a year ago and to my surprise they wore out very quickly and never were very comfortable. I thought maybe it was a fluke, so I was going to purchase another pair. I came to this website and read the many other reviews about the decline in quality which confirms the experience I had with my last pair. Based on my last pair and the comparable reviews I have decided not to purchase another pair. Time to find a different quality shoe. Sperry, please bring back the quality we were all use to!

I have had my first pair for over seven years, and I have worn them everywhere. They were still intact but but in thought it was time for a fresh pair. I have purchased two pairs in the past 7 months and the soles have torn on both of them. These do not seem like the same shoes that I bought in the past. I am very displeased and disappointed.

Ordered Extra Wide but they were very narrow. Return is difficult for me due to health issues so I may get stuck with these. Other than the misleading width they're great looking shoes!

I bought these fairly recently, and was disappointed with the quality. They lasted me 3-4 months of casual wear indoors (about 3 times a week) before the laces got too soft to stay tied, shoes got filthy even with conditioning and waterproofing and inner sole came off. I had previously bought a pair that lasted me ~4 years and several thousand miles, but these only made it 4 months. I won't be buying sperry again.

I've only had the shoes for a month, and the outsole is staring to tear apart from the shoe. I've owned pairs sperry shoes before, and they have lasted for 3 or 4 years without any major thing happening. I am very dissatisfied with the product I purchased.

I love these shoes but after two weeks they're already falling apart which is pretty ridiculous. The last pair of Sperry's I had lasted me 8 years and can still be worn. This (more expensive) pair lasted two weeks and the stitching has fallen out on one shoe and the other has come apart at the toe. Sperry's are my go-to shoe in the spring/summer but I can't justify buying another pair if this the quality of the shoe.

I bought two pair. The toes were stitched too tight and ripped through the rubber sole. I sent them back and asked for replacements, no one ever contacted me.

I bought these shoes in December 2020 and this picture is after 3 months of wear. I took this photo in March 2021 and the sole is falling apart. I got my first pair of Sperry's back in 2004 and had them for over 10 years and loved them. Got another pair and they lasted over 2 years. This latest pair didn't last 3 months without falling apart. Seems like the quality of Sperry's have declined over the years.

I received the shoe with a very smashed up shoe box. I received the right size, but the right shoe looked super worn and distorted. I didnt return because i didnt want to go thru the hassle. Very awful shoe experience. Shame on Sperry company.

I bought my son these shoes, he wore them only a few times and the sole came apart from the shoe and soon just broke off. He owned them less than a month.

I ordered these shoes in late October for my son. His last pair lasted 3 years. Within 2 months, the rubber sole snapped and broke.

Not what they used to be. The width is WAY narrower than advertised. I ordered extra wide width. Shoes were still way to narrow. What happened Sperry?

Sperry Topsiders have been my go to shoe for 37yrs, until this last pair. The previous pair wore out after 6 years of daily wear so I went to buy a new pair. The store did not carry 12w so I ordered them in-store. When the shoes arrived they were extremely narrow. Every pair of Sperry shoes I have purchased previously fit like a glove from day one. Managed to stretch these out enough to wear uncomfortably since the return costs to me for a problem with QC are ridiculous. The insoles came unglued within a week and one of the eyelets separated from the upper 2 weeks afterwards. A year later and the soles are failing too. These have been the worst pair of shoes I have purchased in the last 10 years bar none.
