Great looking shoe. The sole of this shoe was green and so were the shoe strings. I'm hoping that this was just some sort of error.

These shoes look good, but really are boat shoes. Luckily I sail, so I've kept them, but they are not great as an office shoe.
Additionally, they are not very comfortable. They feel like a slipper when you are walking down the street, and not in a good way. The also tore up my feet the first few times until they stretched to shape.
In summary, I won't buy another pair of these.

Sperry 0195222 was my main shoe. Sperry stopped making this model a year or two ago and I bought three pairs. At the time I was told 0195222 was Sperry's most popular shoe and the telephone person didn't know why they stopped making them. 0197640 is the closest I could find to 0195222. I don't care for the color. They already look dirty and warn to me. The width is not the same as the old 0195222 being a little narrower. Just enough that I can see they are not going to work with a heavy pair of socks. I am a disappointed customer.

Having a narrow foot myself, I love my Sperry shoes (I've worn them since I was a little girl), so I purchased two pairs of these shoes for my husband; one in the brown and one in the navy. My husband wears an 11 Extra Wide shoe, but I was hoping (since the leather on these shoes is so soft) that he would still be able to make these work after he wore them a few times. Unfortunately, Sperry's shoes are simply too narrow in the sole and wider options aren't even offered? We are disappointed, but we have no choice but to return these and look elsewhere for his boat shoes.
Sperry, please consider making some extra wide options on your shoes as well. My husband loves being outdoors and staying active, and these shoes seemed like the perfect addition to his warddrobe (slip them on and go! - while still looking stylish). We were disappointed that wider options weren't available from a company who has always been so highly regarded.

I love the style of these shoes because they are so versatile. However, there is a seam in the heel that rubs and causes blisters.

Good shoe that lasts. Good value. Have purchased several pair in the past and this won't be the last.

I have been very disappointed in one respect, that being when wearing socks with them the leathers brown dye comes off big time on my socks.

I ordered the Men's Authentic Original Boat Shoe / Sahara - 0197640 M 105. I got what I ordered, but it's not as good as the real Original Boat Shoe.
For years I ordered the Authentic Original tan with honey sole style number 0195222. Like your current Amaretto, it had a durable finish and a good leather insole. This shoe has a suede-like finish and a cheap insole. I've had one pair already, and it doesn't take long for the insole to start curling up - the real original shoes don't do that. It also doesn't take long for the suede-like finish to start showing wear. I like Topsiders, but I'm going to have to look elsewhere the next time around.

These shoes look great, but are not the most comfortable with or without socks, especially if you are going to be walking in them for any average distance. The inside pushes on the top of your foot and there is little support. It is a shame because they really do look good.

Love the look of the shoe, but upon close inspection the leather is rough and the dye comes off on your socks and feet. The quality of the leather is not as nice as my other pair of Sperrys. I had hoped with some wearing the leather would soften, but no. I really love my other Sperrys and am rather unhappy with these. I had needed a darker pair of shoes and while these fit the bill the quality is not what I am used to with Sperry.

It\'s a good fit, but the color rubs off inside (on your white socks if you wear socks with them). There are also sharp parts inside of the shoe. Overall, I\'m a little disappointed it because it hurts when I wear it. However, good shoes for the price.

Great-looking boat shoe with a smart combo of navy and tan--but I had to return because it is too wide. I need a narrow but apparently Sperry does not make one available in this shoe. Not much arch support but that is typical of boat shoes in general.

These shoes are good, but the shoes I received are lighter in color than the ones pictured above. I think the lighting on these shoe photos is off because mine did not appear to be this dark (which is what I wanted). The photos should be re-shot or they should include another color because like I said mine are lighter than these pictured (the ones I ordered) and I have seen these darker models in a store prior to ordering with Zappos. However, I didn't feel like dealing with the return so I just kept them. Other than that they are just "good". These shoes have given me plenty of blisters worn without socks, this is the one thing I do not like. But the soles are good.

Shoes seem fine. I'm just disappointed that they are manufactured in China! I would have tried to find comparable shoes made in this country at a higher price, of course, as I want to support our economic recovery.

Like the nubuck appearance and deck shoe style very much. These shoes are not as comfortable as I would like. I have size 13 feet with a high instep. I had to return them and get a wider shoe (from M to W).

These shoes look great with shorts or jeans and are very comfortable. HOWEVER, be aware that if you wear these on a hardwood floor, or inside some malls, there is a SQUEAKING NOISE that can be heard with every step. This is similar to the soles that are in Dr. Martens and Nike Shox. So if you don’t mind the squeaking, I would recommend these shoes.

I ordered these shoes because my old Sperry Top-Siders were all but worn out. They were the most comfortable shoes I ever owned. The new shoes are comfortable enough, but there is a design change that I find very annoying. Sperry has shortened the shoe tongue slightly, so that it doesn\'t protrude out the top of the shoe as much as before. This creates a problem where the tongue slides down as my foot enters the shoe, and doubles over inside the shoe. I have to remove the shoe and pull the tongue out to fix this. It\'s a small change (and I don\'t know why they made it), but it affects the comfort and ease of use.

I've worn Top Sider Originals for years. I'm now 69 years old and I do need additional orthotic support; and I would suggest that anyone wearing these shoes use additional support as there is very little in this type of shoe. But I love them!

What's that smell?
I really liked the light tan color I got. They were pretty comfortable, although I felt like wearing a low sock would be even better. The bad thing was they were so smelly. I know new leather shoes can smell like leather, but my husband was saying he thought a mouse maybe died in my closet, and we determined it was these shoes he was smelling. I put them outside for several days, through sun and rain (boat shoes, right?) and that seems to have helped.

Disappointed -
I have worn this model (0195115) TopSider for decades, and generally buy two or three pair at a time. This pair has two faults: (a) the serrated sole is poorly manufactured. The serrations are uneven, in some areas just an impression with no cut into the sole at all, hence its ability to grip a wet surface with confidence is far less, and (b) the leather seems a different and lower quality and perhaps a less durable shoe.

Not very authentic -
These Sperry Authentic Top-Sider Originals are knock-offs of what I remember the Original to be. The stitching is crude, the inside unfinished and unlined. They more resemble a cheap moccasin than an authentic boat shoe. However, they are fairly comfortable and fit my narrow foot well. The Zappos service was excellent, as usual.

Summer Comfort -
I had a pair of Top-Sider's since I was a kid and that's been a few years. Slip them on, enjoy the comfort and go. You don't even have to wear socks. They are great around water or the beach. Was nice being able to buy the original from you and not go to the mall. Loved the fast and actuate service and you even upgraded the shipping method at no cost to me. I will be buying another new pair soon (diff. color). Thanks for making life easy! Dennis

Not that great -
These are rather ill fitting shoes. I have a narrow foot, and although the size is correct (11.5 B), they are tight and hard to get my foot into. They are unlined (I wish I would have paid attention to a previous review that said that). I may buy another pair someday, but wider.

Only option -
The shoe has all the ingredients for casual summer wear. But the color is dark; and the leather is stiff; and the fit is mediocre. I buy a lot of casual Sperry stuff, but this shoe does not match the rest.
