Great toe protection. Toe cap is one solid price so it won't peel back. Very hardy shoe which I intend on using mostly for hiking and mountain biking. My 3rd pair of Salomons. They wear great and last.

I have been wearing a pair of these shoes for 15 years now. I replace them yearly, and have never had a shoe that performs better or more consistently than the XA Pro. It's a great cross trainer and trail runner, fantastic support and incredible comfort. I am on my feet 14-16 hours a day, and these are a big reason why I am able to do that. I have worn them in 18 countries and every geographic region, from desert to jungle and they handle everything I can throw at them.

Very good looking shoe and comfortable as well. It's considerably narrower compared to my Keens even when you get the normal or regular width. Based on experience, it feels better if you wear a thinner than normal sock. Only concern are the laces, hope it holds up and not break.

I have been an adventure athlete for as long as I recall. I have also had a pair of Salomon XA Pro trail runners on my feet for as long as I recall. They last forever! They fit perfect! The quick lace works and is tough! I have a had a bunch of these through the years. I keep a pair for a few years then I replace with new ones. I then use the old ones to work in my yard.

Great shoe, definitely runs narrow, I wear a standard size width in every shoe I've ever worn before these. Wide fits great, good arch support.

I have owned two pair of these Salomon shoes. I originally bought a pair for air travel, since I travel weekly. Thinking of the quick on/off shoe removal and comfort for quickly getting from one gate to another. However, what I found is that I was wearing them everyday, for all occasions where appropriate. I will own a pair as long as they keep making them.

I purchased these shoes to replace some Moab Ventilators for everyday wear. Very comfortable, unique quick lace system works well. Lighter than the Moabs. Fits my feet perfectly, however, my feet are quite narrow (measure B width on the Brannock). If you have wide feet these are probably not for you.

I have my entire family hooked on these. Even my 75 year old Mom. She just bought a colorful pair. My husband loves these because they are comfortable and easy to slip on. Great for the weekend. Worth the money. They will last for many seasons.

I have fallen arches, therefore I am extremely flat footed. I've had these for about a month, and I have never been this content with an online purchase. First shoes I have ever purchased without trying them on. This will not be my last pair of Salomon XA Pro 3D's. They are extremely comfortable and durable. I ride a motorcycle and work selling motorcycles. I am on pavement a lot. Which has in the past destroyed my Nike Airmax's, Brooks, or fill in the blank. Zappos was extremely easy to order from. One happy customer!

These are my husband's third pair of Solomons. These are his favorite shoes and he wears them until they are completely worn out! They are definitely worth the price and are great for everyday use and also for hiking. My husband feels they are a bit narrow in the toe box at first, but they stretch out well over time. Will continue to repurchase over and over again.

Excellent shoe for trail running and light hiking. Fit is perfect. Hope they never change this model.

Have had several pairs, and I keep coming back. This is the only shoe I have found (after trying many) that I can wear all day without foot pain.

Great so far, I changed out insoles for the super green feet. The shoes have a harder sole than your typical running cushiony shoe which I was looking for. My feet hurt when I stand very long in a cushy type running shoe so these are perfect. I use these for the gym - weights and running on treadmill, walking the dogs and for around town.

While this shoe is highly rated and comfortable for me, I had little confidence in the tie method because of my hiking experiences so I returned it.

I really like the arch in these sneakers and the laces are great to get proper fitting. I need a wide shoe. Purchased the Salomon wide - not as wide as I thought. Keen is wider with their regular width show.

These shoes are awesome. I like the stability. I wear them almost everyday, and I also use them for 3-gun matches because they grip so well in rough terrain. Only thing I do not like is my toes sometimes feel crowded. I don't even have that wide of a foot.

I purchased the XA Pro 3D as a more breathable alternative to the waterproof versions of this shoe (which I own as well). The waterproof version while nice for winter/fall, I found to be a bit clammy during warmer months. These shoes breath extremely well but will not provide you any water resistance on the top of the shoe. The color pattern is great, shoe is very durable and comfortable. The kevlar lacing system works very well (the little tab on the lace fits in a stow pouch in the tongue of the shoe). The traction pattern accommodates most situations. Overall am extremely happy with these shoes, no complaints. They breathe great and are comfortable, sturdy, and sure footed. If you are looking for something that is waterproof, there are two separate offerings of more or less the same shoe.

Oops - my bad (previous review.) It is of paramount importance that I should stress the excellent (not moderate) Arch support of this shoe. Warning - flat footers need not apply, because this support is not found in the in-sole alone. Nope, it is also an integrated wall of cushion that extends from the body of this sport-shoe as well. Snug fit @ first, but Ulta-supportive, and break-in quickly, with very strategic, properly placed/designed flex areas.

I am going to simply withhold telling you all just how wonderful these shoes are made and fit. At least until, I have the cash to gain another couple of pairs. My previous Salomons have been of the SpeedCross 3 variety (CRs, too), and I was very happy with those. Now I am even happier (if that is possible) with these XA PRO 3Ds. They are very stable, and supportive. This is a substantial piece of rubber artwork, that will really envelop your soles.

I'm really enjoying these shoes because of the sock type of fit. You'll become a Salomon addict after your first pair. Zappos is the best!

Don't be misled by the Salomon narrow fit for these - I'm a 9.5 D-plus, need a wider toebox. Nikes - no way, Mizunos - nope. I've been in ASICS and Brooks for the past 6 years. Last pair of trail shoes were Brooks Cascadias. These are more comfortable overall and snug nicely in the heel. I was skeptical about the lacing system but just ran a 10K on single track and dirt roads including a steep downhill. More responsive than the Cascadias but not as cushioned - lighter and less clunky though; tread pattern of the XA Pro 3Ds doesn't throw as much dirt and the higher uppers keep it out better. Wore a pair of thick Darn Tough! No-shows without overheating except under the tongue where my foot got a little hot - tongue's thick with material. Remarkably comfortable and functionally snug but breathable single-track/packed dirt shoe. Thanks, Zappos for the superquick delivery and copious feedback from purchasers on this shoe.

Good lookin', but tough on my feet! I usually wear the XA Comp 3 design, but these looked nicer and a bit sturdier. Pretty stiff, and the arch support was perhaps too much, causing my foot to shift, and my toes to poke out the side. It gave me about an extra inch in height. If you're satisfied with the XA Comp 3, then stick with the comfort, but if you prefer a stiffer stride then maybe this IS for you.

Awesome Shoe - Awesome shoes. I don’t really see these shoes breaking down at the pace of other shoes. Quality, all the way around.
