Needed a new white sneaker as I wore my last pair until they had holes in them (a street style Nike from DSW that I couldn’t find again anywhere). Was pretty skeptical about the fit as I’ve worn classic Converse in the past and they have always ended up in a donation pile because they are too narrow and pinch the sides of my pinky toes. Now... full disclosure, I am a 35 yr old professional dancer with 85 year old feet. I’ve been in a motorcycle accident. Unless I’m performing or going to an event that I want to wear heels at, I have given up the vanity of my youth (at least as far as my feet are concerned) in favor of shoes I can put my orthotics in. I am also very particular about my style and am always on the hunt for the perfect white street sneaker. Soooo with that behind us Dear Reader, if you’ve gotten this far, let me share the following: I actually love these sneakers. They are NOT just like classic Converse (although (very similar). First of all, I am usually a 7-7.5 and got these in a size 7. I’m able to fit my orthotics over the glued-in insole (something I wish Converse would change, already!! Make it removable!), which can sometimes cause your heel to slip out because your foot is now sitting too high in the shoe, but these were completely fine - a nice fit, no toe pinching, and much more comfy overall with the added orthotic, obviously. On the aesthetic side, the biggest difference for me is that the tongue on these is shorter and flatter than regular Converse, which makes a huge difference. Nothing bunching up on the sides or flapping up over your ankles. These just sit flat over your foot without getting up in your ankle’s business when you walk. So although they look almost exactly the same as Converse, they are not quite, and for the better. My only wish is that they come out with a seamless knit pair!

Really love the look of these shoes. Slight narrow on my foot than I would prefer, but it is manageable where I did not want to return them. Since it is a canvas type shoe, my hope is it will just stretch out over time. The sole that came with the shoe is very flat which caused the bottom of my feet to ache, but I have flat feet so I always have to switch out the soles that come with shoes for my custom orthotics anyway.

I had to return these. Because apparently my 38 year old foot is not the same as my 17 year old foot. These were too narrow in the toe box area. I tried them on and wore them around the house for a few minutes and it instantly hurt my big toe and pinky toe on both feet. Super bummed cause these were my fave shoes in high school. Was excited to try them again. Not for this old lady.

Love this shoe in white. More comfortable than it looks and goes great with a sport coat and jeans!

Alas, the Converse version of this shoe is not the same as the original. Everything--from the rubber moulding to the laces--is a little thicker/wider. The result is a less sophisticated version of the classic Jack Purcell. Size too is a half-size larger, and while the original Jack Purcells came with an excellent and substantial removable insole, this Converse shoe has no arch support and no insole. I ended up putting my full-length running ortho-supports inside; that's how much more space there is in these shoes. With my orthotics inside, the shoes are comfortable; I'll probably keep them, as they'll be good for walking. But it's sad that Converse has dumbed down a previously classy sneaker.

These shoes are really cute and comfortable. However, I have a small frame and skinny legs, so they made my feet look long and awkward. This style seems to have a little more length in the design of the toe box than the classic Chuck Ts which I think attributed some to them seeming awkwardly long on my foot. I'm sure someone with a different frame would love these.

Have admired these sneakers from afar for a long time. Being a loyal Pro-Keds fan I've never taken the plunge. Well, life is short and new sneakers brighten my day and many of my outfits. I am glad I bought them. I chose the navy blue and am happy with the style, fit and comfort. Many reviewers bemoan the changes in the sneaker but as a first timer I am a fan.

Cute and comfy--I would not walk for miles in them, but for typical daily use--running errands, etc., I really like these! They have more arch support than the regular chuck taylors.

This is the basic canvas Jack Purcell shoe, which is the slightly upscale sibling of the Converse Chuck Taylors. There are also leather Jack Purcells for rain resistance and a dressier style and the Jack Purcell Signature shoes with a thicker insole and various added styling details. The basic Jack Purcell uses higher quality canvas and a better insole than the basic Jack Taylor shoes, making it more comfortable and more durable. The Jack Purcell is true to size so if you wear a 10 with New Balance or Nike you can wear a 10 in Jack Purcell. The JP is tight across the toe box and can rub on your small toe. My solution is to wear them with thick socks for two hours a day in the house for a week. They loosen up enough to wear all day and after a few weeks of frequent wear they conform to your foot for a snug and comfortable fit.If you like the canvas version, you will love the leather version which is rain resistant, dressy looking, and easy to keep clean.

I've always wanted a pair of Jack Purcell's and think they are so classic looking. I think they run a little too large, but with thicker socks, they are very comfortable. I don't wear these as walking shoes, more for style; I don't think I could wear them for a long time.

This is the go to cool shoe in my family. They have been wearing them since grade school and they are no in their 20s. Simply a classic.

These are great for that funny old gym teacher look I was going for at the time. The toe section is a little tight and never going to stretch so if you have narrow feet be aware of that before purchasing.

Having never worn a pair of Cnverse, I was going to purchase the all white 'Chuck II' style, but saw the white Jack Purcells, and loved the slightly chunkier style! Pair them with cuffed jeans or a t-shirt dress for a clean, cute look. They are moderately comfortable to walk around in, and do not chafe like some other canvas shoes. I know these will be my go-to shoes year round!

bought these because they have a removable insole and i need to use orthotics. I wear a 6.5 to 7 D (women's). I purchased the size listed as size 7 women's and it is at least a half, if not whole, size too long. Sadly, the width is too narrow for D width so no point in trying smaller size

These bear little resemblance to my old, favorite Jack Purcells. They have a lot more rubber on the toe and a lot more, perhaps unnecessary, innersole. From the outside they now just look like All-Stars, are a bit overstated. True, original Jack Purcells were more elegant, even for sneakers. All that said they're perfectly comfortable. I'm just not sure why they're called Jack Purcells.

The one I received, the sole appeared off-white compared to the rest of the shoe. I do not see this yellowish tinge from the ones at the shop.

Fits true to size. And much lighter and better fit than traditional Converse. The vents are covered by the insole, however, so they don't breathe as well as one one would expect.

This is my third pair of Jack Purcells (I've worn the others out), but for some reason this pair fits a little differently. It's a little bit bigger, looser maybe. They're still a staple of my wardrobe because they casual and comfortable.

These are great looking. But they fell apart pretty quickly after just a few months. The soles and the fronts were separating from the shoe.
