We live in northern Iowa and I needed some real boots. I saw the 40 below and thought the Sorel Waterfall boot is the boot to fill my need. They are reasonably light weight, which is a plus and attractive. I purchased the tan, but prefer the looks of the black one. I have worn them and my feet and have stayed warm and dry in the worst Iowa weather.

These boots are made for walkin'...Great fit. Water, snow and slush just roll right off. I hike roads and woods with our dog a mile or more daily, and they've been comfortable from right out of the box. Easy on and the zipper gives them a close fit to keep snow from coming in the top.

I love these boots. Looked for several days for a pair of boots that looked cute with tights or skinny jeans AND were really warm and practical. Wore these boots on New Years Eve while snow tubing with my family and my feet were WARM. I wear them to the gym with my long down coat and yoga pants and they are sporty too. I did order 1/2 size up as suggested and it is perfect. They are a little rigid in the ankle so squatting in them can feel tight at first but I am used to them now and they feel super. The foot is wide enough (though my foot is medium/narrow width) and the boot does not slip its a good fit. Highly recommend for someone with very active lifestyle and wants warm boots that look good.

These boots are great. They look good, are warm, and completely waterproof. I was worried about what the other reviewer said about the zipper cutting into your leg but wearing tall enough socks seems to eliminate the problem. I'm able to walk my dog over a mile in the snow in total comfort. I will definitely buy Sorel boots again!

These boots are great! They kept me completely warm and comfortable in frigid temps this winter while visiting up north and during our own extreme cold snap. They were a little stiff at first but quickly softened up. I am glad I didn't go up a size; my regular size fit just fine even with thick socks. It's not necessary to wear really thick socks though, they are perfectly warm without them! I love the styling too, subtle and not too bulky. A wonderful purchase - wish I had had them years ago!

I am going to Whistler, BC for the Olympics and will be viewing several outdoor events so I needed a boot that would keep my feet toasty warm while being comfortable and light weight to walk without feeling like I had 10 lb weights on each leg! So far- these boots ROCK! I normally wear an 8M but based on previous reviews I purchased an 8.5M for a little extra room. They are perfect with slightly thicker SmartWool socks. The zipper did push slightly against my leg when I first zipped them up so I did experience what other reviewers stated... but within 30 minutes of wearing them around the house on carpet they felt great. And I didn’t have to manually stretch the boots - they just gave naturally once I put them on. I purchased the Flax color and it looks great with brown or black or navy ski pants. When wearing with my boot cut jeans they do not stick out or protrude. My toes are really warm... do get breathable socks if you aren’t going to be in very cold temperatures or your feet will perspire easily. These boots are rated -40F and they are the lightest boot that I have found in that temperature rating. I also love the clean style of the boots - they aren’t so technical looking as many other boots rated -40F. I also love the soft trim at the top of the boot which alleviates any chaffing at the calf.

I love these boots. They’re incredibly comfortable and keep my feet warm. I first ordered one size up based on others’ reviews, however, I found that the Sorels are true to size. Happily, Zappos had my size and the exchange was seamless.

I really like my boots. They seem to be nice and warm. I haven't been out yet for a long length of time, but I believe they will keep my feet warm.

I found this boot to be super comfortable, warm and reasonably stylish for life in the snow. The sole is grippy. It may be a tick wide, but I like this as I can wear a heavy sock. Easy to get in and out of.

I\'m very happy with these boots. I ordered up a half size so I could wear my woolen socks and they fit well. Caution: they are not slip ons. You\'ll need to zip and unzip to get them off and on and there\'s no way you could tuck your pant legs in. Also, if your legs are heavy, they might not zip at all.

This is a great boot. I can't say enough. I am new to Canada. With a mid weight sock, these are warm and keep my feet dry in 30 below freeze. I haven't tried them in colder temps though I'm not concerned at all. They also look great for a sturdy winter boot! These are great looks, toasty and waterproof. I have tried them in deep snow, not puddles. What more could you want in a winter boot?

I love these boots! I needed something to keep my feet warm and toasty while waiting on windy train platforms and walking to work during snowy and freezing cold Chicago winters. I also wanted boots that were versatile enough that I could wear with pant suits during the week and with jeans on the weekends. These fit the bill perfectly. My size is between an 8 and 8 1/2, so I got the larger size. They are a bit big and a little clunky, but that makes it easier to wear big socks. I have bigger calves, so when I have socks and pants tucked in, sometimes the zipper won't go up quite all the way - but I've never had them fall back down again. If you need boots to keep your feet warm and don't need really tall boots, these are perfect.

I bought these boots in my normal size and they fit fine. Definitely a little stiff at first, but not uncomfortable. Generally I walk about three miles daily in these boots and my feet would hurt the last mile for the first week I wore them. Either the boots or my feet got broken in though because they feel great every day now. I do prefer to wear a thicker and longer sock with these, otherwise these boots tend to suck my sock down into them. I could tuck my pants into these if I wanted, but luckily the tops are not too bulky because I prefer my pant legs outside. Great tread, warm, sturdy boots that I expect to last me a long time.

These are warm and dry, even in terribly cold and wet conditions. I wore these straight out of the box for a three mile walk through snow with my dogs and was perfectly comfortable and warm! I bought a half size up for extra socks but don't think I'll need them. My first pair of Sorel shoes lasted 20 years. I passed on my second pair to my daughter. This is my third pair.

These are by far the best boots I have ever bought. I spend a lot of time outside for my job in the wintertime. Trudging through snow, slush and navigating ice. These boots keep my feet warm and dry and don't feel like I am wearing weights on my feet. I am 100% satisfied with this product. I would second what others have said about ordering at least a 1/2 size larger than your normal size; I did and they fit perfectly. How often do you find warm, comfy snow boots that look great? Love these boots - I bought these boots for a trip to CO. They were great! They kept my feet warm and dry. They looked really great too.

Sorel's Waterfall - My winter boots fell apart and I was looking for a new pair. It was the end of the season and I wasn't having any luck. I wanted something sturdy that could handle anything from looking nice to being warm for shoveling snow. Talking to my husband one evening, he suggested I look on the web for Sorel's as that is what his winter working boots were and he's had them for over 20 years and they are still going strong! I started surfing and found the Waterfall boots on your site and others. It seemed to fit everything I was looking for . . . so I took a chance and ordered them. They look great, are extremely warm (can handle colder weather than I'll likely experience I think) and my first experience with Zappos was great. For those of you with a high arch - I have one as well and I was able to get my feet into these with only a little struggle - lighter socks would help that and they are so warm you don't need the heavy ones. I ordered a 7.5 which was always my size until over the years you can never tell what size will fit you. The 7.5 is definitely the right size so I would say that sizing is true. I really like them - the black suede makes them a bit dressier but I wanted something sturdy with good soles that will grip under bad conditions - after all that is what they are boots! Now high heeled ones for me. I loved them. Also the Zappos experience was excellent - they weren't in stock - but the emailed me when they became available again . . . free shipping (and I understand the shipping is free for returns and exchanging sizes! - makes you feel safer just knowing that). Then communication as to when they would arrive - they even sent them out faster and notified me when they were coming! I'm new at this ordering online business but with Zappos I felt comfortable. I did find other sites where I could have saved a few dollars but considering shipping and free size exchange - it would probably come out the same over time if you start ordering this way all the time. Excellent service counts!

Warm and Stylish - This boot is very warm, waterproof, and stylish. The tread works well in the snow. It is streamlined enough to wear under jeans but can also be work with jeans tucked in.

Love these boots! Purchased them to wear at Sundance Film Festival as we do a lot of walking and standing. These boots were incredibly comfy, warm and were not bulky.

I really like this boot. The only drawback to it is if you have a high instep it is very hard to get on even with the zipper. I purchased this boot because of the zipper figuring I would not have any trouble getting it on which I do have, but after it is on the fit is great so I decided to keep it. It also keeps my feet very warm for outdoor activities. It is very comfortable for walking, too.

I love the boot. I have high arches so it was a little challenging to get on the first few times. I also have skinny legs and they just fit with my jeans tucked in when I zip them up. So if you have bigger calves these may not work for you.
