Perfect support

A bit snug at the toe. With thicker socks, I was afraid my regular size would be too tight. So opted for 1/2 size larger.

I've heard a lot about TIMBERLAND but I hope these are not typical. On the very first time I tried to lace them up, the top hook pulled rightr out of the boot when I was tightening the laces down. I didn't over tighten, just normal like anyone would to get a comfortable fit. The hooks are CHEAPLY riveted in place and will never in a million years last very long. I will look MUCH MUCH closer on the workmanship from this legendary company. I am much preferring both Keen and Danner. A bit more $$$ especially Danner but there is NO COMPARISON in the quality. NOT EVEN CLOSE !!! Both Danner and Keen are right here in Portland where I live. Maybe thats why QUALITY is JOB ONE ! Keeping Portland WEIRD !

I would buy this again. I wear these everyday in the winter.

Had a problem with the overall fit although length and width was okay. The problem with the fit is that the stitching around the lower part of the throat opening extends kind of far onto the vamp. This gave me a blister on top of my toe where it joins my foot. Ouch. Of course I wouldn't have known this until AFTER I went on a hike. And after just one short hike with a 1000 incline and down the tread shows more wear than I expected. I don't know if these can be resoled but I tell ya. That won't be cheap if they can be.

I am a female who wears a women's 10 wide and I own two pairs of these boots in men's 8.5 regular width, in the darker brown and the tannery leather. While the darker brown pair starts off softer in the uppers, the footbed is the same in both pairs. The one thing I have noticed is that the midfoot support wears down quickly. I have done 3 hiking vacations over 14 months with the first pair I ordered and they are now just knock around boots. Considering how light weight these boots are, which I consider a plus, the support system wearing down is not unexpected. I will gladly purchase a new pair every year to have the comfort of these boots over the absolute rigidness of my old Keens mid-rise. I notice these are gone in men's sizes from Timberland's site, but it seems that the "Chocorua" model may be close to the same boot with some cosmetic changes. I hope that is true. At least I was able to get a new pair here at Zappos.

Very sturdy and comfortable. Recommend thick socks and ordering 1/2 size up. Great sole grip and secure ankle.

Excellent boots and very comfortable. I used them hunting on the Oregon coast in the rain and mud and my feet stayed dry the entire time. Love these boots and highly recommend.

Excellent short boot. I bought it to use while doing yard work. They have had heavy use for over five years now. I would buy them again! Comfy. Durable.

I bought these for both of my sons and they wear them all the time. They have worn very well and we will be buying more soon.

I usually buy Keen boots but couldn't find a pair that fit as good as they usually do, so I tried these. I have big feet, 14 or 15, I ordered both sizes and found the 15 able to accommodate my power step insoles and still have some wiggle room without any heel slip. They are fairly lightweight, comfy and so far waterproof. I use them for tree spraying and other arbor work, if they last a season I will consider them a bargain. I would recommend these for light hiking, work boots or kicking around town. Nice grippy soles and good ankle support, plus more leather and fewer seams or fabric than many other choices.

this is about the 5th pair of these that I have bought for myself, as well as two pairs that I've purchased for my father. Very comfortable, very durable, very stylish.

I bought these for a trip to Iceland over New Years when I needed something warm and waterproof. These worked as needed and still felt great after trudging through the slushy street all day. They also look very classy.

The perfect boot for working outside. I bought these boots for my husband to wear to work. I actually have a pair of these boots that I bought 2 years ago & they still fit like the day I first bought them. They are the most comfortable, durable, waterproof, and light-weight boot I have wore.

Too narrow even though supposed to be wide. Noticed that Chinese last is narrower even in wides than it is supposed to be. Viet Nam wides are a truer fit.

This is my second pair. The first was the Trail Mid in 9 wide and fit like a glove. This pair of 9 wide seems to be a bit wider, but that's OK. My last pair fell apart way too soon so we'll see how these last. One complaint is that they will not stay tied for long. Have to retie them often during the day.

I did my research on a couple of hiking shoes before I ventured on an 18 day of hitchhiking from Oregon, USA to Toluca, State of Mexico, Mexico. I was hesitant about buying these Timberlands because of it's color and the fact that the dirt stains would ruin the shoe. Also, I got the shoes the day before I left, so I did not break them in before I left, risking foot blisters on my trip. I am glad I took the risk of buying this shoe. The material on this shoe is so soft, it molded straight to my feet from the moment I I wore it on. Sure, there were some dirt stains that probably will never get removed. But man, like one of the Mexican ladies said, this shoe is like a 4x4 car. It can handle anything!

I ordered these boots instantly when I saw them. I just received them, they are great. I bought the Chokura Trail Goretex boot also as an alternative. Both of the boots are awesome, but I would have to say that these boots are a bit more comfortable than the Chokura Trails. Just a tad. I can't make up my mind, so I think I will keep both, lol. The Timberland name has never let me down.

Absolutely love them. Keep feet warm and dry. The EE width is perfect for wide feet (other wide boots have been too narrow). Lace up great, stay tight. I've been hiking and they're still in great shape. Glad I didn't go with Gore-Tex.

Timberlands are great shoes if you work in an industry where you have to stand around a lot.
