Nice shoes, but I found the shoe to be uncomfortably tight, especially in the toe box. My other recently purchased Earth shoes, Vapor-K, in the same size, are very comfortable and almost too roomy in the front. Huge difference between the two shoes. Had to return these.

The shoe is fine and fits well. I expected less heel for a more upright stance. The first day I noticed slight muscle pull in the back of my thighs. After two weeks I don't notice any difference in the feel or my walk. I was hoping for more pull on my lower back.

I Really Wanted To Like This Shoe -
I've had degenerative arthritis since high school and I'm very sensitive regarding footwear and learned to run like the Native American postal runners in order to minimize pain. When I saw these negative heel shoes I thought I struck gold. Not so. Basically this is a MBT shoe with the roller under the ball of the foot instead of the middle. Now I can see why people with toe problems love this shoe. I tried putting in a Spenco orthotic to raise my heel level with my toes for a flat footbed but this was impossible due to the mass of material under the ball of the foot. It reminds me of those funky jumping shoes on Seinfeld. I was surprised how comfortable they were otherwise. I really wanted to like them but the negative heel thing just didn't impress me at all. I feel it's an overly complicated failed attempt design wise and, sadly, it's still better than 99 percent of the crap out there. At 30 this is all I need: a below the ankle (low top) shoe that is lightweight without compromising quality; flexible sole that is even thickness from toe to heel (no built-up heel and no stiffeners from the instep forward); a completely flat footbed (no wedges and no curves) that is well padded and molds to your foot; arch support a la Born; and learning to walk properly. Sadly, everything is a compromise when our bodies were designed to move in the forest and not on flat concrete and asphalt.

NOT FOR WIDE FEET -
I first tried size 12, but thought they might be too small, sent them back and received size 13. They fit like an athletic shoe should with a little space between your big toe and the end of the shoe, but this extra room causes my heel to slip. Still comfortable, but I think the size 12 may have been the way for me to go. Not as wide as other Earth shoes. Good shoe for walking, standing, weight traning. Too heavy for running.

Earth Energetick -
I like this shoe. I like the earth shoe design to help posture and keep the calf and hamstring muscle groups flexible.
However, I found the shoes to be very heavy for an athletic shoe...it feels like you are wearing ankle weights. I would like to see the uppers made of light weight synthetic materials like running shoes.

First image misleading -
I love everything about this shoe except for the insole. The insole on the right shoe does not fill the entire width of the footbed and created much discomfort for my right big toe. I am going to try a replacement insole and see if that helps. It might just be my foot too.

I had purchased a black pair of the Energetic K's and really love them. I have foot issues. I am an Emergency room RN that works 12 hour shifts. I have post chemotherapy neuropathy. Like I said I have foot issues. The Energetic K's were the most comfortable shoes I have worn. I purchased a second pair - this time brown colored - as the other Earth shoe styles don't do it for me. The brown pair while just as comfortable started to have the stitching come apart on both sides of both shoes. I have worn them far less than the original ones. Either it is a defective pair, the brown color is made differently, or they are all being made differently. I am returning the brown pair and hope to find another style that I can live with. I am just not wild about the squared off front of most of their styles. For comfort they are tops.

Sore knees -
It took a week and a half of outdoor walking but, now both my knees are aching and I've had to give up walking until they recover. I'm so disappointed. It's a very comfortable shoe to wear. You have that slight feeling of walking uphill and that's not so bad. I was very hopeful with this shoe because I suffer with plantar fascia problems. I guess I'll have to keep searching.

Worst Pair Of Shoes I have ever worn!
I returned 3 pairs of the Earth's Energetic K Shoes. The first pair the lace pulled through the leather. The second pair the inside material ripped in the heal area. The third pair the sole came loose. I have never seen such POOR Quality. Tried ordering the Orion 2 and Zappos only carry the Orion. VERY FRUSTRATING!

Quality issue -
When I got the shoes in at the end of March, I was excited. They seemed to be exactly what I was looking for, and while I'm not use to spending this much on a pair of shoes, I thought I'd give these guys a try. The shoes were great for about 2 months, after that a hole began developing on the inside heel. By the end of May the hole was larger than a dime. If I'd known this would happen, I would have bought a much cheaper shoe, and replaced the inserts several times. It would have lasted longer. Is this normal for this brand?
