Another girl-
Had to order the men's version to avoid white, but they're wonderful! Had to return first pair and get half size bigger- once I saw the conversion chart (I need European size 41), I knew I had the right size, which is not my women's size- 2, btw. But they are exactly what I was looking for.

This is the fourth Earth brand shoe I have purchased this year. I was curious to see if the tennis shoe would have the same great feel and comfort as the other styles I have. The energetic k did not disappoint me. The Earth brand shoe is all I wear now.
Thank you Zappos.com. Service was great as always.

"YES!"
I am a woman and I got this shoe in a size 7 (I wear a woman's 9) to see if I could get the equivalent of a woman's size 9 in a bit wider size. When I first put them on I was a bit 'meh'. However, in that typical "Earth Shoe" tradition, they're difficult shoes to start off with - it was hard (but now I read: excellent support) and almost uncomfortable. After my first walk with them they were almost totally broken-in; conformed to fit MY foot. The sizing is just right as the size 7 mens shoe is a dead ringer for a 9 wide womens shoe. They're as attractive and (feminine?) looking as my Earth womens styles. One thing to remember about the Earth shoe is they simply need "breaking in" time. Other than that, they're perfect. Just Perfect.

Comfort, style and negative heel all in one.
I've always hated the look of those negative heel sandals and shoes. However - this show looks like a great tennis shoe AND has the excellent benefit of a negative heel. Feels great, with all of the posture benefits of the negative heel. I'd recommend this shoe to anyone.

Great Shoe -
This shoe is comfortable, stylish, and well made. Though it takes a bit of time to get used to at first, it is quite easy to manuever in no time. Not sure what it is doing for my posture, but my legs certainly feel better.

Awesome sneaker -
This is the second pair of Earth shoes I purchased. I have knee pain and these shoes really help! I wore the original Earth shoes in the 70's and missed them!

I bought these shoes for my son who tells me he really likes these shoes but would really like it if them came in more colors.

Superb -
This is a beautiful very high quality athletic shoe. The fit is fantastic. The shoe really follows the contours of my feet unlike many shoes that seem to have designs that are two simplistic. My feet are wide at the toes and narrow in the heels with high arches. The negative heal causes me to naturally have better posture while elevated heels cause me to slouch. I have run in them and they seem to have plenty of shock absorption. However, I plan to build up my running distance gradually as I can feel that my muscles need to stretch out for the negative heel. I have also noticed that running with elevated heels running shoes caused my ankles to crack with each step and this goes away with a flat or negative heel. The negative heel combined with a soft shoe with lots cushioning creates a brand new walking experience somewhat like walking barefoot on the beach. It’s a real treat and the health benefits are real too. Finally, unlike other Earth Shoes, these shoes don’t look out of the ordinary. They look just like other athletic shoes. This is the shoe that I will probably live in for years to come.

Woman Ordering Men's size -
I ordered a pair of Earth Energetic women's size 10 (white with pink trim) a couple years ago for my terribly broken feet & bad back - they did much more good than the expensive orthotics, but they were right on the edge of too small. This year, after tearing a tibial tendon, I wound up ordering an 8.5 in men's to be comparable to a 10.5 women's & a tad wider in the forefoot. The men's insole arch hit in the wrong place, so I had to replace them with my old women's sz 10 insoles & although the forefoot fits better, I have to tie them on tight in order to keep the heel on. They do help my feet and back tremendously, but I find myself dreading putting them on, especially in Florida in the summer because they are hot & heavy (and very much not feminine colors). Hopefully Earth Shoe Co. will soon get that they should focus on their strongest customers… people who want & need nice-looking comfortable (& practical) shoes that are good for their feet & backs (all us baby boomers - the people these shoes were originally designed for & realize that women over size 10 are people, too!).

Better posture and stability -
Definitely a very comfortable shoe. Provides relief from my toes getting crowded from the boots I have to wear at work. Better posture and stability even while standing, and are comfortable enough for running. No sore legs or knees after hiking, though it was a bit tougher going uphill. My only other complaint is that the style from the outside looks like an "old-man" shoe.

Good shoes -
I bought these for volleyball reffing. They take a little to get used to, but they have made a difference in how my back feels at the after reffing 7 matches in a day.

These shoes are great -
I've really enjoyed trying out these shoes. They make basic walking feel like more of a workout. Particularly down the back of your leg. Also they do make you stand straighter, just by virtue of the negative heal. Since they are different than most normal shoes I would agree with recommendations to break them in with shorter interval wearing at first. My husband wore them all day right away and found that a little uncomfortable. But I've really enjoyed wearing them. Definitely worth a try.

Earth shoe novice -
This is my first pair of Earth shoes. Positives: appear to have excellent quality; very good support and cushioning; seems pretty wide but I like that. Negative: looks [my teenage daughters say they look like clown shoes (big and clunky), they begged me not to wear them in public :) ] Also may be a little on the heavy side. Not sure about the negative incline yet. I really like them for wearing indoors. I think they're great for a teacher or salesperson or someone who stands a lot and walks around inside. I've tried a few 2 mile walks in them and they've never felt quite right with the low heel. May just take more getting used to. I've jogged a little in them. Actually felt good with all that cushioning in the forefoot. (I didn't allow my heels to hit first.) I'm definitely going to wear them a lot around the house and office. And I'm going to keep trying them on outdoor walks.

In Nike I wear size 13. In energetic K the size 12 fit perfect. I ordered size 12 Earth Leisure and it was to0 small. The Energetic K is very comfortable. I got use to the negative heel immediately.

Excellent idea: The lower heel -
The back of the heel support seems to be a little low for my taste. This forces me to tighten the laces more to prevent the shoe from feeling that it will come off.
Also I would offer this shoe in varied widths and toe height.
The above suggestions would make the shoe a great one when considering the excellent idea of the tapered sole, lower at the heel and higher at the front toe area. It forces me to play tennis on my toes and improves my mobility and speed. You have to be careful at the beginning lest you could develop injuries until you get used to it. I felt it on my knees initially. It felt o.k. after the third use.
The markings below are the result of my first and second paragraph comments.

Comfort wins over look -
Simply put, this is a great workout shoe. I wear a size 12, so the styling of this shoe does make it look like I'm wearing shoe boxes, not shoes when compared to my Pony’s, for example, but I bought these for workouts, running and power walking, not as a fashion statement. I did not find the negative heel to be a problem to adjust to and will eventually replace most, if not all, of my shoes with negative heel versions. Now if only Earth would make shoes I could use while dancing (there's no comfortable, safe way to do turns while wearing a non-slip sole).

New to Trying this type of athletic shoe -
I'm very glad I took the time to read the reviews, because the statements on ordering a ½ size up is TRUE! I wear 7.5 normal shoe, but some running shoes, I've got to order 1/2size up, which in this case applies. I thought they might look weird or larger on my foot, but they didn't! I got these for my fast walk/hike exercise which, boy you can feel it in your hamstrings & Achilles. Tried to run in them...uphills are killer workouts. I'll probably get another pair!

Nice shoe -
It takes a little getting use to the negative heel, but they are very comfortable. My feet/arches are fine but I do have some lower back pain, and so far these shoes have helped with everyday use. Arch is good and not over-done. Nice alternative to cross-trainer shoes for walking and general use.

To break in my new shoes, I wore them for short periods of time (3 or 4 hours) for the first week that I had them. My left arch would begin to hurt after about 3 hours. I gradually added the number of hours I wore them. But, continued to experience the same pain. After about three weeks, I'm still struggling with wearing them for a full day without pain. I probably would have given up if it weren't for the cost of the shoe. On the positive side, they are great for speed walking. I decide to wear them only for speed walking.

Made for standing -
When I'm working on my feet, standing over a counter, walking around on hard floors, the forward part of my foot has most of the burden. This shoe is made for that. So far, not so great for walking; seems like I'm walking uphill with my calves paying the price.
