Basic but beautiful- This shoe belongs in every man's wardrobe; it's the perfect balance of form and function, for an amazing price. This is definitely one of the best deals on this website. What's better is Zappos itself. Unlike some companies, Zappos really does strive to deliver the best customer service possible. I challenge you to find a company that is more customer-oriented.

My husband looks GREAT in these shoes - Wonderful, sexy looking men's shoe. My husband loves them, says they are truly comfortable and he wants to wear them every day now.

Quite Excellent - The shoe felt really nice and looks great. I wish I could send another review 6 months after wear to let everyone know the extent of wear on the materials. So, far I am very pleased. I wanted black also but they ran out when I ordered.

Great Shoe - Finally a site where I can find quality shoes that fit! The Melton is a great looking, well made, comfortable dress shoe. It was slightly narrow for width ordered, but with a little stretching it fits perfectly.

Excellent - Excellent shoe for the money. It has a stronger, smoother appearance than many cap-toed shoes that cost 25 - 50 percent more.

On some shoes, I wear custom orthotics but I can go without them with these because they fit well and offer good support. They don’t unfortunately, offer the optima cushioning support I’ve seen in past meltons but they still work. The style is classic and they look great.

I reviewed this one other time and mentioned how the inside of my black pair kept rolling up when I removed my foot. I forgot to mention that I ordered the same shoe in brown and it did not have the issue, which is why I know it is a good shoe and I am still waiting for my size in black to come back in. I will order it ASAP because when it is glued correctly, all will be great. I must have just run into a bad set.

This is a great shoe. Unfortunately, I ordered three pair that all had the same flaw and had to return each pair after having worn them only one time. The inside of the shoe had a seal that was not glued properly and made it so that the sole of the shoe would flip up when I pulled my foot out. The first two were the right foot and the third was the left (pictured). It needed to be glued better. It is only disappointing because I really think this is a great shoe! I will order it again when my size is again available. They’ll get it right soon ;)

These shoes look fantastic. Not the most comfortable shoes to walk in all day. They are getting better as I break them in.

Not a fan of dress shoes, but needed something for a job interview. This one ran a little large, but it worked. (That's about the best comment you'll get from me on any pair of dress shoes.)

Good for dressing up - This is not the shoe I wear when I expect to do much walking at work. I tend to wear it when I'm dressing up. But, for an old fashioned leather soled shoe, it's remarkably comfortable. I don't find myself thinking about how my feet feel when I'm wearing it so that's a good thing. Just don't confuse this shoe with the "running shoe" style of dress shoes out there.

Perfect shoe for business dress: not too trendy, not too conservative. Took just a few hours before it felt "broken-in" with no discomfort. Wished the same shoe came in a dark brown. As always, Zappos can't be beat for having what you need, when you need it. Great service.

Classy business attire! In this day and age of "business casual" it's comforting to know that you can still find classy full leather dress shoes that have an understated elegance to them. These shoes send a message: "I am a serious client facing professional - no back-office gumshoes disguised as the real thing, thanks." A really handsome, gentlemen's shoe.

First time buyer - Great looking, but will take a little time to brake in.

Comfortable once broken in - A little stiff to start, and the top of my foot was a little cramped, but once I wore it three times, it was nice and broken in. Very comfortable and very nice looking. I don't think there would be any room for an insole, these fit snug.

Excellent shoe, overall - These shoes are well made and look great. They feel true to size. This is the second pair I have had. With care, they last years. My first pair lasted about 3 years with resoling. They were used almost daily.

Comfort without sacrificing looks. Handsome, classic style. Offers much better comfort and support than a pair of Bruno Magli's I recently retired.

Nice shoe! I was looking for a dress shoe that I could wear to black tie events in NYC and DC. This is the shoe! Very nice styling. The shoe, however, is very stiff and it took me longer to break in than any shoe I have had in a long time. But after the first event, it wore just fine. Great value for the quality of the shoe.

Nice shoe - I was pleased with the shoes; they are classy and look good. A nice fit, but a little narrow, but not enough to need to exchange them to get a wider width. They are also a little stiff, but I feel certain they'll break in nicely.

LOCK- I like this particular shoe. This is my second pair. I have a brown and black pair. They feel really good on my feet and most shoes don't. If the price is right, I will continue to buy and wear this shoe.

The tongue of this shoe is attached to one side of the eyelet (quarters or sides of the upper)portion of the shoe. This prevents the tongue from buckling and slipping during lacing of the shoe. The leather texure is consistent in color and texture;smooth like patent leather but not as shiney. The comfort of the sole is better than I expected and I have several pairs of shoes I purchased years ago at Johnston Murphy. The outward appearance of the leather sole looks similar to other shoes I own however, the padding and construction of the outer-sole and heel counter must include additional cushioning without any outward appearance of bulk. Good bang for the buck. I purchased the shoe in the dark burgundy.
