All that I hoped they would be...and a little bit more!
I purchased a pair of all white, leather Jack Purcell sneakers. Not only do they look super cool, but they are remarkably comfortable (my last pair of New Balance cost over 2X as much and weren't anywhere near as easy on these old legs) and because I purchased leather, easy to keep clean and continue to look new. I used to wear Purcell's when I was a kid (I'm 62 now), and still enjoy how they feel. I strongly urge the rest of the baby boomer generation to do as I did and go back to the days of raked cars, cheerleaders and making out in the back seat to strap on a pair and be "transported" back to the 60's & 70's when times were good, women showed less flesh and Mom and apple pie still important items in our lives. Thanks Jack!

It’s been two years...
It’s been to Vegas, Los Angeles, and of course San Jose, and still breathing like always. Of course after two years, the heel gave in a little, but nonetheless, still one of my favorite pairs. Grown up version of the Chuck Taylors. And just purchased my newest one for my birthday. But chose the John Varvatos version. I don’t like the laceless one, but heck, I can always add em after right? Great pair of shoes. No arch though, but then it works great.

Jack Purcell Leather Converse -
These shoes look great, feel comfortable, and fit my narrow foot! And they're fun to wear.

These are great all purpose shoes. Perfect with jeans for walking around convention shows or whatever. Wouldn't wear for long or brisk walks that require more arch support.

Great looking shoe! I am a tad concerned about the quality control of the shoe. For example, the toe cap is larger on the left vs the right shoe. I am going to keep the shoes but Converse should do their best to avoid this mishap in the future. I have 4 pair of JPs -- love the look!

I like the shoes but the size runs big. I usually wear a 6, sometimes 5.5; I got size 5.5 (women)/4 (men) for these Jack Purcells but they still look too long. I think I will exchange and try for a 5 in women's...but I wonder if that will be too tight.

Fits well and nice style. However, as expected from a non-support shoe, the shoe feels a little "floppy" - mainly a little wide across the toe area along with no support. Regardless, I like them a lot.

I ordered it on a Thursday night, and they guaranteed a Christmas eve delivery. Sure enough, it came on Saturday. I was extremely surprised at the quick delivery and impressed. If anything, the quick delivery was worth it. Oh, and my son liked the shoes!

A comfortable sneaker, but unlike the apparently discontinued brown version, these black ones run more on the wide-side, so they might feel a tad loose for anyone with a foot that is somewhat narrow. I just find myself retying them and then they feel okay again.

I have very wide feet (4E) yet these shoes fit just fine, I did not have to order a size up or anything. They look pretty snazzy and the metal ends of the shoe laces add to that feel. One thing to note is these shoes are not for the winter. They have zero insulation and the bottoms are easily the slickest things on ice I have ever tried to walk in. For those reasons they lose a star. In the summer they will rock though.

Purcell Low -
A true classic, I bought the leather edition after seeing them on a buddy. The only gripe I have with them is that the leather is a bit thinner than I'm used to, we'll see how they hold up. A good looking knock around sneaker, great with 501's.

I would recommend my friends to by this style of sneaker. It reminds me of the sneakers I grew up wearing with the exception of them being leather, and on my next purchase I will be buying the black sneakers.

These shoes rock!
I have wide feet with short toes, so normally I have major issues finding something cute that doesn't look like an orthopedic grandma shoe. What has been said about these shoes running a tad bit large must be true because I ordered a women's 9 (normally I would have to buy a 9-wide) and they fit like a glove. Plus, they are too cute! Can't wait to get another pair. (The free 2-way shipping is great too!)

Jack Purcell leather shoes -
This shoe is a good alternative to the regular converse. It's a little wider and stronger of a shoe. I stretched the toes out with my shoe stretcher anyway. Not much arch support. Looks good with bells or boot leg pants. Not for skinny jeans, the shoe's a tad too big. Overall cute shoe.

Classic and New York chic!
This is the best all around sneaker for the New Yorker - its on trend with its preppy and classic style and gives the comfort you need on the streets (or the dance floors!) of the big apple!

Love the look but they hurt!
I ordered a pair that was my usual size and they were too big, so I exchanged them for a half size smaller. They are not very comfortable, so I am not sure if they are too small or that they do not have enough support and cushion. I still like them.

Surfers Rule -
I am having a great time bringing back the surfer look of the early sixties. White T-shirt under a Pendleton shirt, Levi 501 jeans with turned up cuff and my Jack Purcell’s. The best is the leather comfort of the new Purcell’s. The canvas is the original, but age demands a better fit along with a great look. A little more arch support would be nice. A very in fashion and run around shoe. Great look and great service from Zappos.

Jack Purcell leather superior to its canvas brother -
The leather look is great and the comfort much better than the current canvas model. However, it does leave a little to be desired for comfort, i.e. not as cushiony as others. Still, overall look plus good fit confirms right purchase.

more support -
i have worn these type of jack purcell tennis shoes since i was a kid. with the advent of shoes such as new balance there is definately a comfort gap. don't get me wrong, they are great shoes just could use more support.

I purchased the white JP's, but am a bit disappointed. For starters, Zappos needs to update the picture. There is no Jack Purcell logo on the tongue and the insole is white instead of navy. I wonder if that version was more comfortable because these aren't. The toe box is cramped and it feels clammy. On the plus side, they still look good and the outsole doesn't pick up dirt or pebbles.

I thought these were going to be my every day, wear into the ground sneakers, and I so wanted them to be. But they turned out to be really flat, kind of clunky, and difficult to break it. I feel like a clown walking around in them. Maybe they were just a bad style choice for my current pregnant body type, maybe they're just not the shoe for me. Either way, I really wanted these to be the shoes of the decade, and I was sourly disappointed. :(

I am returning these even though I like the way they look. Problem is: the back rubs my heel horribly and by the end of the day it's rubbed raw and with blisters.
