I\'ve traditionally worn the white canvas version of this shoe. Thought I\'d try the leather version to see if it would stay cleaner and gain durability. It does on both counts and actually looks better, especially with the khakis\/casual pants that I wear to work.

Great comfortable shoes. I love that they're leather. I can wear them in any place without worrying that they'll be ruined by a little dirt.

I work nights on a psychiatric unit. I find my Jacks are great for doing silent bed checks. In addition, they are very comfortable and I think they look great. And, if they were good enough for James Dean, they are good enough for me.

All I will say is this. If you remember wearing these when you were young, buy them again and you will not be disappointed! The size was dead on, Zappos customer service and next day delivery. I was dead on and the 'Ole JP's fit like a glove! As comfortable and more, as they were 'all those years ago'!

If you like Chucks, you'll fall in love with Jacks! They have a lot more cushion in the insole. And the leather is glove soft. I got the black ones as well. I get tons of compliments on these shoes. I really only wear jacks and chucks and have 10+ pairs but these are the most comfortable yet! And I always sing praise for Zappos! I ordered them one evening and they were at my door by lunch the next day! I had to exchange the first pair for a different size and same thing, got them the next day! They are simply amazing and so are the shoes!

Great shoe. Stylish, minimalistic, and the insole is nothing like I\'ve experienced with any pair of Chuck Taylors I\'ve owned. Leather gives it a touch of sophistication, black stitching and black laces make it low key, and the metal eyelets and metal ends on the laces make it cooler than your average Converse.

Cute shoe but had to return it and buy a half size smaller. Make no mistake - this shoe runs big.

I love the Purcell leathers. My biggest dilemma was what size to buy. I wear size 8.5 in Converse All Stars but 9 in everything else. I ordered the 9\'s and glad I did. They fit perfect. These also have much better support than All Stars.

These are nice with everything and 10x more comfortable than your everyday Chuck Taylors. The the sizing are different in this leather version, I had to go up half a size from my normal Chuck size which was a 10.

Typical Converse sizing. Purcell soles were update several years ago and are definitely more comfortable now. The leather construction is definitely a way to get a different look.

Hi there, I just want to say this is a 5 star company. I ordered my shoes on a Wednesday night and I received them Thursday afternoon. I really thought I was going to receive them on Friday since I ordered them Wed evening. I was really surprised and the call taker was very helpful.

Very happy with Zappos customer service and my Jack Purcell Converse. I ordered and received two days later. When I tried them on they were half a size too small. I called up Zappos and they sent me another pair half a size up and they sent them the next day! Now they fit perfectly and I get compliments on them all the time.

Extremely comfortable, lays well with casual pants. I have not seen anyone with the leather JP's and most people don't even now they make leather JP's. Old heads love them! They are very classic looking. I may need to wipe them down a little more frequently than a average pair of white sneaks. I love them and cant wait for them to restock them!

The old Jack Purcell classic with a great twist. I love these shoes for summer, and for casual shoes they go with just about anything. Very comfortable, and being leather, they set you apart from most people wearing the same old same old. Would definitely recommend.

Recently, I purchased the Converse Jack Purcell's and I was a little hesitant. I have a small figure, so if I wear bulky looking shoes, I look really clumsy. I took my chances with these anyways and I am so happy that i did. They arrived really quickly, and the Jack Purcell's are amazing and comfortable. They maintain the same slim look as the other All Star Converse, yet the leather exterior and the soft sole inside makes this shoe one of a kind.

I love these shoes! I had Jack Purcell sneakers as a kid and loved them. I have a canvas pair and just bought the leather in white. They are perfect! The leather is very soft and I appreciate the extra padding in the leather version. Buying from Zappos is a wonderful experience! I love the free shipping and ease of navigating their site. Great shoes! I just bought a pair for my girlfriend and we love them. They're great for doing just about anything and can be worn with any wardrobe style. The leather feels amazing! If you want the Converse style shoe with good support and feel, go with these!

These are my second pair of Jack Purcells. My first pair served me well for the past five years and it was time for a new pair. I got the black color rather than the white as it’s easier to keep clean. These shoes are extremely comfortable. Even more comfortable than a regular Chuck Taylor. I have big feet (Size 11 US womens) and these shoes fit very true to size. Though they do run a tad bit narrow at the toes. I guess the only thing I really don’t like about Jack Purcell sneakers is that they look long and sorta make my feet look like ski's. Also I found the laces to be way too short. I didn’t have this problem with my older JP's so I simply swapped laces with my old pair. I definitely look forward to buying my next pair again on Zappos.

I have been wearing these shoes for years now and won't wear anything else. I love my Jack Purcell! They're very durable and I even put mine in the wash without any issues. They can be a little snug at first in the width but mine have always stretched out after a month or so of wear.

Great classic styling! Super comfortable! Sidings will begin to peel away in heel area though. Otherwise an excellent pair of shoes all around.
