wrong shoe in pix -
Love Zappos and this is the first time I ordered a shoe that was not in the picture . The white leather five eyelet model in pix arrived with 7 eyelet and not as plush looking along with the newer metal ends on laces. So much for a vintage look. the black leather is accurate

Stylish & comfortable -
These are great looking and well made shoes, very comfy and soft. The JP's have enough give to be nice light duty walking-around shoes without the heaviness of traditional walking/sport shoes. They are a definite upgrade from Chuck Taylors, with their better support and more expensive styling. Great with jeans in the evening or daytime. The feel, fit, and look is well worth the price, they lace-up well, and will surely get noticed. Got mine in black and they rock!

It's just like the canvas Jack Purcells but better.
My canvas Jack Purcells were falling apart and I had been eyeing these leather Purcells for awhile. I bought it and love it. It's a lot more comfortable and keeps my feet warm in cold conditions. I definitely recommend this to anyone who is already wearing canvas Jack Purcells and wants to keep the look and have warm comfortable feet.

Great shoes!
I recommend going with a half size smaller than normal. I usually wear a size 6 but a 5 1/2 (with socks!) fit great. If you plan to wear these w/out socks, I'd get a full size smaller. Overall very comfy and looks cute!

Great All Around White Tennies for Cuffed Jeans -
Road test of three styles/brands, this pair won for looks and style. Really, truly a great looking shoe, it just is. Cuff the jeans, add a cardigan and these look great with no socks. This is not a jogging shoe and very little arch support. But there are less attractive shoes for that. A man's 6 1/2 equaled a women's 8 1/2 for me if trying to compare for size.

Converse’s Jack Purcell® Leather -
I love these shoes!! I normally wear a size (women’s) 7 1/2 and a women’s size 7 in these fit perfect. If you're not sure on what size to purchase in the Converse Jack Purcell in leather...order a 1/2 smaller than what you'd normally purchase if buying Nike or New Balance.

Jack Purcell, a timeless classic -
The Jack Purcell leather low-tops really epitomize what a classic tennis shoe should look like. They're a refreshing change from the SUVs that most people wear on their feet these days. Whenever I wear my white Purcell’s with a pair of jeans, the women always comment on how sharp they look, and that's a good enough recommendation for me.

I always order my Jack Purcell's a 1/2 size smaller than marked. They run a little narrow (or maybe I just have wide feet), so that makes the toe box a bit snug but then they hug my feet in a sweet, little comfy way. They take about a week to break in but they're my favorite and have been since high school! I guess they're owned by Nike now, which would explain all the new colors/textures in these and the All-Stars.

Converse All-Stars, other Jack Purcell's, Vans, etc.

Try the leather Purcell -
If you are a fan of Jack Purcell court shoes then you really ought to try the leather model. I bought the basic white leather shoe with the navy "smile" and found it to be much more comfortable than the canvas model. I went with 1/2 size smaller than I normally buy athletic shoes and that worked great. I use a padded insole for added comfort. These shoes are great with jeans or khakis and don't have the bulk of modern athletic shoes.

White Jack Purcell’s are a must for summer!
This shoe is a timeless classic that screams preppy. I buy a pair of these shoes every year or 2 because they are essential. I only purchase them in white leather (canvas is such a pain to keep clean).

Love Them -
I have the all white leather ones, and I like them very much very comfortable. I have a narrow foot and was worried they would be too wide. They are just fine with socks of course and am happy I bought them I like them so much better for casual wear instead of the clunky sport shoes that most people wear. These are classy looking in comparison.

Classic in leather -
I have always loved the canvas version - was thrilled to find that they are now in leather. Same classic look only better. The insole & arch support is much improved over my last pair of canvas I bought - although I highly reccommend buying "superfeet" inserts, you won't be disappointed with the added arch support these inserts provide, especially in the "flat" Jacks or Chucks.

I have worn JP's for years...they always feel a little snug, but you get used to it! The JP leathers get alot of comments because people are used to the canvas...Too cool!

Sweet -
These jacks are sweet and lack the charismatic crudeness of my first USA made pair. That said, they are pretty sweet, The insole is comfortable and the leather is pretty classy. These puppies are hard to beat. The shipping time was also pretty ridiculous; they came the next buisness day which was unbelievable! If you wear Converse, the new chinese made sizes correspond to the old USA made ones. This is my third order with Zappos and they continue to amaze me.

I love my Purcells for their nostalgia and their style. I wore them when I was a kid and did not know they were still being made. My daughter wears them now as they are the new rage. I wear them all day for errands and such. The leather is easy to keep clean and looks great.
They offer no heel height and at 5 foot 1 and 3/4 inches, I need the extra inch offered by my running shoes when I wear my jeans. I might wear them for tennis but I would not wear them for running. At my age, they are no longer a sport shoe just a fun shoe.

White Jack Purcells -
Purchased this pair off zappos and quite surprised about their shipping. Unbelievably fast shipping and service. Shoes are great and comfortable, but a tad heavy. Maybe its just me, I'm also used to wearing pro-keds as well. Love my jack purcells, a timeless classic.

This is my first pair of Converse, and I now understand why they have become a staple of American culture. These shoes are so light and comfortable you won't want to take them off.
I bought these to wear with a suit, in the "geek formal" style, and it was a good choice. The leather upper is high quality, smooth, dark, and the supple black leather that is going to last a while. The soles seem to be a bit higher quality than the other Converse I have seen, and have a pretty good grip for how smooth they are. The insoles are cushiony, but of course these are flats, so expect to feel the terrain you're walking on. These are not hiking shoes; these are designed for wear in the urban environment, and are definitely not running shoes. They're more about form than function, as there isn't a high amount of arch or ankle support.
The laces that come with them are a bit thinner than I desired, but they can be upgraded to the old school fat laces by buying them from websites which sell laces. The lace eyelets are sturdy and smooth, which will increase the overall life of your laces, since the friction is reduced.
These shoes are true to size, as far as I can tell. There is a warning that comes with them that states something along the lines of "this product contains dyed leather, and some color migration may occur." That basically means try not to get them wet, and expect your socks to be tinted black in the beginning, as the surface dye rubs off with the perspiration from your feet. If you plan to wear them with black socks, that isn't much of an issue. The only concern about color migration should be from the upper to the soles of the shoes (on the sides), and the bottom cuffs of your pants. I don't have experience with runny colors yet, so I can't report on it, but I expect it to happen. Overall, it's a great shoe for style and general urban walking.

These shoes were just alright for me. They're very flat and a little goofy looking, like clown shoes (I don't have big feet). I was hoping to be able to wear these without socks but the leather rubbed my heel too much. The metal eyes and aglets are cool.

I absolutely love these shoes. They're simple, sleek & clean as far a style go. Keep 'em clean & they look crispy. However, they're not the most durable. bought a pair last fall. Didn't even last a year before the sole was falling off, but I wore them often. I loved them so much I bought 3 more pairs for back up. Been taking much better care of these.

I love the look of the leather Jacks, but I do have 2 legitimate complaints about these shoes. The laces and the lack of any grip whatsoever on the bottom of the shoes. The laces are impossible to keep tied for a full day of wear - laces come untied way too easily - very annoying. Secondly, the lack of traction on the bottom of these shoes makes walking on any relatively slick surface practically impossible (trust me, I've slipped and fallen several times). Despite my complaints about these shoes, they are very cool looking and they fit incredibly well. It just bums me out that they couldn't pull off an all-around amazing shoe. It's hard to say if I will be trying another pair of Jack Purcell kicks in the future...overall pretty decent shoe.
