Sweet - These jacks are sweet and lack the charismatic crudeness of my first USA made pair. That said, they are pretty sweet, The insole is comfortable and the leather is pretty classy. These puppies are hard to beat. The shipping time was also pretty ridiculous; they came the next buisness day which was unbelievable! If you wear Converse, the new chinese made sizes correspond to the old USA made ones. This is my third order with Zappos and they continue to amaze me.

I love my Purcells for their nostalgia and their style. I wore them when I was a kid and did not know they were still being made. My daughter wears them now as they are the new rage. I wear them all day for errands and such. The leather is easy to keep clean and looks great. They offer no heel height and at 5 foot 1 and 3/4 inches, I need the extra inch offered by my running shoes when I wear my jeans. I might wear them for tennis but I would not wear them for running. At my age, they are no longer a sport shoe just a fun shoe.

White Jack Purcells - Purchased this pair off zappos and quite surprised about their shipping. Unbelievably fast shipping and service. Shoes are great and comfortable, but a tad heavy. Maybe its just me, I'm also used to wearing pro-keds as well. Love my jack purcells, a timeless classic.

Perfection - These shoes are comfortable and stealthy.

This is my first pair of Converse, and I now understand why they have become a staple of American culture. These shoes are so light and comfortable you won't want to take them off. I bought these to wear with a suit, in the "geek formal" style, and it was a good choice. The leather upper is high quality, smooth, dark, and the supple black leather that is going to last a while. The soles seem to be a bit higher quality than the other Converse I have seen, and have a pretty good grip for how smooth they are. The insoles are cushiony, but of course these are flats, so expect to feel the terrain you're walking on. These are not hiking shoes; these are designed for wear in the urban environment, and are definitely not running shoes. They're more about form than function, as there isn't a high amount of arch or ankle support. The laces that come with them are a bit thinner than I desired, but they can be upgraded to the old school fat laces by buying them from websites which sell laces. The lace eyelets are sturdy and smooth, which will increase the overall life of your laces, since the friction is reduced. These shoes are true to size, as far as I can tell. There is a warning that comes with them that states something along the lines of "this product contains dyed leather, and some color migration may occur." That basically means try not to get them wet, and expect your socks to be tinted black in the beginning, as the surface dye rubs off with the perspiration from your feet. If you plan to wear them with black socks, that isn't much of an issue. The only concern about color migration should be from the upper to the soles of the shoes (on the sides), and the bottom cuffs of your pants. I don't have experience with runny colors yet, so I can't report on it, but I expect it to happen. Overall, it's a great shoe for style and general urban walking.

These shoes were just alright for me. They're very flat and a little goofy looking, like clown shoes (I don't have big feet). I was hoping to be able to wear these without socks but the leather rubbed my heel too much. The metal eyes and aglets are cool.

I absolutely love these shoes. They're simple, sleek & clean as far a style go. Keep 'em clean & they look crispy. However, they're not the most durable. bought a pair last fall. Didn't even last a year before the sole was falling off, but I wore them often. I loved them so much I bought 3 more pairs for back up. Been taking much better care of these.

I love the look of the leather Jacks, but I do have 2 legitimate complaints about these shoes. The laces and the lack of any grip whatsoever on the bottom of the shoes. The laces are impossible to keep tied for a full day of wear - laces come untied way too easily - very annoying. Secondly, the lack of traction on the bottom of these shoes makes walking on any relatively slick surface practically impossible (trust me, I've slipped and fallen several times). Despite my complaints about these shoes, they are very cool looking and they fit incredibly well. It just bums me out that they couldn't pull off an all-around amazing shoe. It's hard to say if I will be trying another pair of Jack Purcell kicks in the future...overall pretty decent shoe.

I totally love the style and fit, but on my pair the soles just dropped out after 1 week, so I had to return them. No one else had this problem? Maybe I had a lemon pair. Still wouldn't buy again.

I've been shopping for some time for a leather Converse Jack Purcell and though I've heard before that Zappos will beat everybody's price, I haven't tried it until now. What a great find!

Zappos did it again! I ordered it yesterday and it came today w/ free overnight shipping. THis isn't the first time either. As soon as I open the box I was skeptical on the comfort. Once I tied the remaining laces, I put my feet in and started walking. Wow! The most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever worn. Even when you raise your heel off of the ground, it fits snugged perfectly. I'm really amazed on the quality of these Jack Purcells. I was looking into buying a canvas pair of Chuck Taylors but based off of thew great reviews, I was sold to try out the Purcells. They fit better than my Tretorns in which I wear for working out. Those are comfortable as well even for minimal running.

These shoes are incredibly comfortable. I bought them to wear to work during the summer. The arch support and heal cushion are excellent.

Excellent fit. Length and width are both surprisingly true to size for being a pair of Converse. Along with most others, I'd advise going with your true size before making any adjustments. +pts for Zappos' excellent shipping!

Was pleasantly surprised with these. I actually like these better than the original canvas Jack Purcell's as they look sleeker and more grown up. You can dress up or down in these. A great leather version of an old classic style.

I had never purchased shoes from Zappos before, now I don't think I will ever buy shoes any other way. The Jack Purcells are awesome. They are more comfortable and durable then regular Chuck Taylor's. They can be worn casually and even dressed up. For the price, you really can't beat these shoes for everyday, classic American style.

This is the second pair of Jack Purcell's I have purchased and they are by far the most comfortable shoe in the Converse lineup. My first pair were the classic white canvas but I chose the leather for a cleaner look. The leathers are even softer than the canvas and a little more cushioned as well. Great casual shoe that can be dressed up or down.
