I liked the look of this shoe so ordered it (very fast shipping and delivery by the way). The shoe is fairly heavy (as to be expected from a steel toe). However, it is the most uncomfortable shoe I have ever worn. I had bruises on my ankles from wearing them for just a couple of days. Also, when on a smooth floor (laminate, hardwood, etc) they squeak horribly.

These shoes are very painful to wear right out of the box because when you walk in them there is a crease at the last row of laces that presses on the top of your foot. It isn\'t too uncomfortable as you walk around your room trying them out but after 6 to 8 hours at work it becomes very painful. It took me about a week and a half to finally get them broken in to where the shoe stopped hurting the top of my feet. After the break in period, they are an average pair of shoes. They aren\'t extremely comfortable but they don\'t hurt my feet. They are just very mediocre. As far as style goes they look pretty cool. They have a very aggressive tread on the sole and I like the extra protection they put on the toe to help it resist abrasion on the outside of the shoe. Ultimately, I couldn\'t recommend this shoe because of the very painful break in and how long it takes.

This steel toe shoe ranks about a 7 in my 1-10 scale. The shoe laces are not my favorite. I prefer a solid color so I replaced the laces with my own. Also, I'm not favorable of a shoe that the front toe of the shoe raises up a bit, this causes the foot to angle up at the front, hmm, why is that? It's the way it was made. I think next time I order, I prefer a boot, it provides the full and proper protection. The higher boot or shoe provides better wear and protection in a job such as mine on the flight line which puts my feet on a hard concrete surface.

Lookin good but painful for me - Wore these for a week thinking they might break in. They didn't. Very tight fit with pressure points at the side of the foot. My feet were killing me throughout the day. I gave them to a fellow worker. Go figure, he raves about them! His foot must be narrower than mine. No complaints with Zappos though - takes an extraordinarily quick 5 to 7 days to get shoes to me using APO system to the Middle East. Thanks for servicing those of in the military who have to use APO addresses - many companies don't.

Not comfortable - These shoes kill my feet. There are pressure points in weird places like the inside of my heels. Also, the bottom of the toe box creates a ridge that is higher, and as a result, cuts off circulation to my toes. Luckily Zappos agreed to take them back.

Good looking, Comfortable, but lacks Durability - Purchased a pair of these in Jan. '06, very comfortable and good looking work shoe, right out of the box. The quality of these however, leaves a bit to be desired. After only 3 months, the seams began to split near the "ball" of the foot. I since have only been wearing them for yard work and went back to my favorite Wolverines for work. I should also note that this is the second pair of Timberlands that did not meet my expectations.

Looks can be deceiving - This shoe looks great; fit felt a bit tight but after about a week was actually loose. I have put an insert in the shoe for comfort and support. The issue I have is after just a few weeks the rubber coating on the toe of this shoe is coming off, why rubber coating on leather? This is supposed to be a work shoe so I am disappointed with the durability of this shoe, the shoe looks well worn in through toe. I am an electrician and I am tough on shoes but expect to get at least 1 year out of a good work shoe. I hope the leather under the rubber is more durable.

Great looking shoes, very narrow. Steel toe makes the front very heavy. Not balanced...front heavy.

Wore these around the house for an hour and they felt great. Wore them to work and after about 4 hours my big toe started to rub. After 6 hours I was limping. The next time I wore them, I put on a band-aid and moleskin. Again, after about 6 hours, they were painfully unwearable. Who needs a shoe you can only wear for 4-6 hours? So that was a wasted $100. Went with the Keen's, much nicer toe box.

The toes were much to narrow for me but besides that i think it would be awesome if you have a narrower foot

I got them for my adult son and he loved them, but one of the shoelace clips broke after the first try on. Hoping it was a fluke but we weren’t comfortable reordering so he decided to try Keen’s next. Btw, after reading all the reviews I decided to order the wider width even though he doesn’t have wide feet. He felt they were perfect. So disappointed by this shoe though, wish they had worked out.

My husband liked the design , was excited when he saw it, but the width was disappointing. His pinky toes were so beat up. So we will be returning this pair. ??

very nice looking shoe. unfortunatly that is all the good about it . i was expecting the same anti fatigue intirior as the timberland pro boot with the rubber toe guard. i was sorely mistaken (literaly) the inside bottom was very hard and the insert is very thin and offers little padding. the shoe in the widest available to it is for a narrow foot. my big toe was rubbing on the steel toe interior to the point of pain. I tried the shoe with 2 different dr. shole inserts and i was only able to wear for 6 hours before enough was enough. do not try if you have wide feet.

I bought these as a summertime alternative to my usual buy; Timberland Pro Endurance. They are not what I was expecting. The break in was not bad, but the longer I wore them the worse off I turned out to be. I am on my feet over 12 hours a day, on a concrete warehouse floor. These shoe/boots will damage your feet. I have since bought my Timberland Pro Endurance, but I now have unusual pains in my feet. I think I tore something. At any rate, these are great for short woods trips, not for work. Get the Endurance.

I needed a size 12.5, but had to settle for a 13 because you don't carry 12.5 shoes. Size does make a difference.

These shoes are comfortable but not very durable. I work in lawn care, and the shoes only lasted one season. Rips developed at the sides of the shoes where they crease because of the steel toe. The shoelaces are too thin and will rip prematurely. On the plus side, the traction is great in the mud.

After owning this shoe for two months and wearing them to work each day in and out of garage and workshop areas, the mesh on the side of each shoe split out. Six months in, the laces split apart and had to put in replacements. After a year and a half of wearing these shoes, the other parts of the shoe have held up. The sole is in good shape, the stitching has held up, the leather has held up, the rubber reinforcement on the front of the shoe has been great, and the shoe remains comfortable while on my feet for the majority of my workday. If you're going to be in the brush and woods, the softness on the sides of this shoe will be a problem. If you're in and out of a warehouse, you'll be OK. However, I won't buy these again because of the problems with the mesh on the side of the shoe and the cheap laces provided.

I buy a lot of work boots. I do remodel work and thought a lighter shoe might work. These did not hold up and I feel are very cheaply made. The top eyelet broke off within two weeks which left this low profile shoe worthless. I would not recommend these to anyone doing manual labor.

Even though they are sneaker-like, they are heavy. I also felt that they were very wide. I am a EE, and still I felt as if my foot was swimming around in there. Sole is on the stiff side and hard. Wasn\'t as good of an alternative to work boots as I had thought.

These shoes were worn by my husband for work. They were never particularly comfortable, he bought them because he was required to wear steel toed shoes, but doesn’t like the look of traditional boots. These have a nice look to them. However, after about 8 months of wear, the upper completely detached from the sole. The sole had began to peel back from the toe, but there was really no warning that the shoes were about to become completely unwearable. I wouldn’t buy these shoes again, as I expect a work shoe at this price point to last at least a year.

I\'m sorry to say after seven months as another review said the glue has separated from the foot bed. Other than that comfort was exceptional with 9+ hours on my feet up and down stairs. I have to retire these, I would not buy anything from this company again. Three emails to them to make it right had no response.

These are my second in the row, and I am not so delighted this time as I was before. Actually my right shoe is already broken, after 15 days of wearing them. So much about Quality when made on far east. The first I bought were fine and they are still "alive". I do not want to claim it because I still need them, but I can see the difference between the first I bought and these one. Also should have more arch support.

Too tight - I need wide shoes and frequently choose Keen since they make a wide toe box. I figured that I'd order a 10.5 EE in these. I don't have the impression that Timberland understands what a wide width means. All I had to do was slip my foot into the tight shoe before I was packing them back in the box to Zappos.

They fall apart after 4 months!!! I had to replace the insole after 2 weeks because the arch support disappeared. The heel support was the first to go (2 months) and now the sides have split along the stitch marks (5 months). Maybe I am old fashioned, but I kind of expect at least a year of wear before any problems. I am currently trying to get a replacement from Timberland, but they keep giving me the run around. I am a FedEx driver and walk about 2-3 miles per day. I do not recommend these for any serious walkers.
