I purchased a pair of these docs about 2 weeks ago and I simply don't understand why other folks are having problems with them. I think that they're great! Easy to break in and just generally a nice looking, comfy shoe.

The shoes looks great and fits perfect. I really like it!

Great looks and feel, but kinda squeaky - The shoes look great...use some Kiwi black shoe polish and they will look even better. My only qualm is that I believe the padded leather collar squeaks (and so does the sole). Perhaps the leather is still breaking in, but I've worn the shoes for about three weeks now.

Long time wearer - My husband and I have both worn Dr Martens for years. I bought him these recently to replace a terribly old, worn pair. They fit him perfectly and as always they are comfortable and well made. I would never buy anything else when looking for an all purpose/dress/work shoe!

These shoes require breaking in for a couple of days at least. They feel a little narrow at first, but are fine once stretched. They are soft and provide plenty of room for toes. The look is great; thick-soled, slightly chunky, and wide at the front of the shoe. These looks good with jeans, skirts, or nice slacks. Super service from Zappos; both online and on the phone.

Doc Marten's - I'm very satisfied with the shoes & service from Zappo's.

Super Comfy - These shoes are much more comfortable than the traditional docs. The toe box has more room, and the sole has curvature under the forefoot, giving walking in them a much more natural feel. I love these!

Same Doc's as always... Doc's always seem to be a kind of narrow shoe to me. This held pretty true to this pair. I love the shoe and will probably stickwith it. I wear a 15 wide so it's a tight fit for a week or two usually anyway. Solid and dependable though, I always come back to Doc's. Working in a restaurant, I go through shoes quick, but Doc's always last the longest.

Great shoe, good value. This is my third pair of Doc Martens shoes. The air sole cushioning is awesome.

Well built shoe - Stiff leather, long break-in period about 2 weeks. After break-in and a coat of mink oil they are a good work shoe. A stiff, well built shoe waiting to be abused. True to size.

Make sure you get the right size. Doc sizing seems to differ somewhat from model to model, so make sure you get the right size (I went to a local store to try on this shoe before ordering after having ordered the wrong size and having to send it back.) This shoe seemed a little narrow for my foot, but not uncomfortably so. Overall it looks and feels great.

DJ - Very nice looking. Not as comfortable as other Dr. Martens that I have had. Could use some arch support. I am disappointed that they are now made in China. But over all an ok shoe.

8053 flex link look a lot better than they feel - Great looking and quality shoes. They go well with all types of bootcut pants and jeans. There are few flaws that I noticed. After about 2 weeks of wearing those shoes I still have blisters. Possibly it is a problem of my feet, and not the shoes fault though. Another thing -- 8053 flex link have almost no arch support which makes them not perfect for long walks.

Difficult Break-in Period - I bought these for my husband for Valentine's Day and he has yet to make it through a full day with them on. I seem to remember this happening the last time he got a new pair of these. He's got blisters on his toes and heels and seems a little afraid of them...His older pair are his favorite shoes, so I'm sure that once he breaks them in, he will love the new pair just as much!

Andy - This is my second pair of the flex link. Very comfortable out of the box. Squeaks when wearing thin socks though. I work in food service and the soles are practically non-skid. In my opinion they look and wear better than any non-skid shoe on the market.

This is my third pair of Docs but the first time I have purchased a shoe previously wearing boots. I bought these for work and was a little disappointed in the color and the weight of shoe. They took longer to break in than the boots I have but after 2 weeks feel very comfortable. I'm confident they will service me well in the years to come. As usual Zappos service was excellent.

Doc Martens- I really like the shoes, however the heel padding isn't sufficient enough and I now have a blister on the back of my heel. Hopefully they break in soon. I've worn them for 2 weeks and just now can walk without a lot of discomfort.

Wider than the original, these Docs are tight- Having a wide forefoot, I was never able to comfortably wear the original 8053 series. I was pleased when the new model came out (with the Flex-Link sole) and even more pleased when I tried them on. I agree with other reviewers that the Crazy Horse is not as soft as the Black Nappa leather, but after a few weeks of break-in, I am loving life. It's a classic look and I wear them to work, with khakis, or with jeans. Definitely more comfortable than the previous model-cushioned insole helps as well. Highly recommended shoe. I normally wear a 10 or 10.5. I bought the UK 10 (US 11).

Very Satisfied - These shoes are great. They are worn by my 17 year old son. I was so thankful to find his size (14) with no trouble. And the service--wow. We received them less than 48 hours from the time of my order. So, no time wasted shopping, no time and $ wasted on gas, and excellent shoes.

Felt too big - I normally wear US 9.5, so I bought an 8 (which supposedly corresonds to US 9). Too big. Plus, my experience with Dr. Martens is that they stretch over time. Watch out for that. The heel doesn't seem to come up as much as I would like it to either. Other than that, it's quality stuff. By the way this sole (with the fine lines as treads) lasts way better than the one with heavier treads. Any sole marked ZBEN is bad, the ones marked ZFDM are good. In general, flex link uses the ZFDM sole.

Excellent shoe. very comfortable.you can really notice the flex link versus regular.

Not All That - Its ok for looks somewhat. Well for comfort not the greatest. The leather texture is weak. Not strong this shoe needs to be in tougher texture to with stand scrapes.
