As good as it gets! If you can live with the "broken-in work shoe" out-of-the-box look (I know some buy them for this reason), this is an exceptional shoe. I'd never owned a pair of Docs before and after receiving these, took them right out of the box and wore them for a 14 hour work day. The result? Foot nirvana! At least for me, they are unbelievably comfortable right out of the box. No break-in required. Fit was exceptional, with padded collar and ample room in the toe box. I now understand why people have become almost obsessive about these shoes. If you're looking for a very casual lace-up shoe, these are as good as you'll get!

Good Shoe But Not Perfect - This is my fifth or sixth pair of Docs and I can honestly say that the Flex sole is the easiest to break in. The Shoe looks good, too. However, it feels about a half-size too small in comparison to other Docs I have in the same size.

Great Shoe - I still have my 9 year old pair of these shoes but I did need a new pair. They do break down over the years and need to be replaced if you spend your entire working career on your feet like I do. I had a major foot surgery back in December and now I am wearing these shoes and they help my poor foot tremendously. Doc Martens are the best, especially this style. You cannot beat them.

Excellent - One word...comfortable. (These are my second dr. martins I have bought) my others are brown and needed a black pair for work. Fit is nice and easy on the feet. Have worn them a lot and my feet are happy, feels like an old pair of broke in shoes to me.

I have 3 other pairs of Doc Martens- size 5 (usually wear an 8 1/2 US size), but had to order a 6 in this shoe. They take a bit to break in, but will last forever and are as wonderful as any other Doc Marten shoe! Highly recommended!!

Can't say enough. I can't say enough about these shoes. I work in sales and spend 8-11 hours a day, 5 days a week, on my feet. Wearing my previous shoes I was experiencing much discomfort. The Dr. Martens took about 2 weeks to get well broken in, but, now that they are I have to say they're the most comfortable pair of shoes I can remember having.

Beyond satisfaction - Zappos/Dr Martin completely exceeded my expectations! Ordered Saturday, had the shoes in my hand Monday! I took a chance and wore them to work. Even after a full shift on hard hospital floors, my formerly abused feet felt totally pain free.

Dr. Marten's 8053 series - This a very nice shoe. Classic Doc Marten style and comfort. I've only had them 2 weeks and love them already.

European Sizes - It seems to be a great shoe, but I will be sending it back because there is no apparent agreement among shoemakers about converting to US sizes. A European size 9 is not a US size ten. It is more like a 9.5 US. Now I have to worry that a European size 10 will be too big. I wish that they also made wide sizes and half sizes.

Dr Martins - Asked my son about his new shoes. Says he loves them. I think he's telling the truth, they are his third pair of Dr Martin's. Brad

The most comfortable shoes ever - After searching for years, these are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. The only negative is the lack of 1/2 sizes or Wide widths (something to accommodate lifts and orthotics for correcting back problems).

Want wider sized for this shoe - I love the style of this shoe, however I have wide feet, and I think it will be impossible to break in a 14M without a lot of pain. typically I fit in Medium width, but these are much narrower than normal, and I tried a few of these in 14 M. Does Dr. Marten put out this shoe in a wider size than just medium ?

Impressed...very impressed - Very comfortable...and resistant to wear and tear so far. Easy to get on and off unlike most other Dr. Martens. Fit snuggly but not too tightly...enough not to slip around but also not enough to cut off circulation. All around very practical, good looking, and cozy.

Great, sturdy shoe - I've been wanting a pair of Dr. Marten's for years and finally decided to splurge on this pair. The first few times I wore them they hurt a bit and were hard to get used to but now they are a great staple to have in my collection of shoes.

This great shoe NEEDS breaking in! I had my last pair of Dr. Martens for 7 yrs. I hope these last as long. They look great, but I suffered through a day of pain trying to break them in. I know I will love these shoes even more once they get all comfy, but despite what the description says: you WILL need to break these in!

Great Shoes - Well the image is a bit missleading. I ordered these shoes and was thinking the sole might be a bit too thick but I am happy to say they are not and the shoes feel great. Also Zappos was great and I can't recommend them enough. Thanks Zappos.
