The BEST! For years I have worn only shoes with a molded, highly supportive footbed for medical reasons and I was almost afraid to try anything else, but since I've started wearing these boots, some of the neural damage in my foot has started to improve. These boots are tops for comfort and support! They look great with jeans and fit perfectly right out of the box. Thanks Zappos for speedy service and an excellent product.

Ariat Heritage Roper - VERY comfortable boot and I have a high instep and wide forefoot. I might have been able to order a half-size down, but the size I have does enable me to wear a thicker sock. Use them in town...very nice looking with jeans, and also used them riding on a week long trip...they were very sturdy. For more accurate color depiction, go to the Ariat official web site.

Ariat Roper - Just thought everyone should know that this boot absolutely runs true to size. After reading all reviews and ordering larger and wider than I normally wear, I am now wearing my standard 7B while writing this review. They are extremely comfortable. FYI: this boot comes in all shades of brown - the 2 sizes I am sending back are tan and a light brown; the size I am keeping is a chocolate brown. Of course, all are gorgeous. Thanks Zappos!

Ariat Roper - Great all around boot! It looks great with jeans, comfortable fit...you can't go wrong with an Ariat boot. I have three different Ariat boots and love them all!

Ariat Heritage Roper - I am purchasing my 3rd pair of the Ariat Heritage Ropers. I use them as a working ranch boot, and they ROCK!! I had to reply to everyone's comments on the boot being hard to get on. KEEP IN MIND that Ariat is a performance boot, not designed for casual wear. When riding in these, you DO NOT want your boot to slip in the stirrup that would be dangerous. THEY ARE MEANT TO GO ON SNUG. If you are looking for a fun, casual wear boot, go for the Ariat Pro Baby style... those are not meant for riding. I wear my ropers every single day for many hours, both in the saddle and walking, they are extremely comfortable, durable, and great looking!!

Super boots! Super boots! Based on earlier reviews, I ordered a half-size smaller than usual, and the fit was just right. Though they are great for riding, they have also given a nice boost to my "mom uniform" of jeans or cords and a turtleneck sweater. Thanks Zappos and Ariat.

The perfect knock-around boot - I have been looking for this boot all my life. I had grown out of the look and feel of pointy cowboy boots, but still wanted something that could go with pants or skirts and not look too trendy. Although it was almost impossible to get them on the first time, because they need to stretch a little, I now barely take them off. They are the shoe to wear when you don't know what to put on. They're comfy and very cool looking, with some nice stitching. I love them!

Love this boot - This is a very supportive and comfortable boot that looks cool with jeans. I have feet that are narrow at the heel and wide at the ball of the foot-- most shoes squeeze my foot there and can cause bunions. I got these extra wide and they are perfect. I live in downtown NYC and feel great wearing them around with jeans -- they're a little funky and relaxed feeling. There is much more arch support and cushioning in these than your basic boot.

A great boot - Your website was so helpful in allowing me to guess the correct size for me. I need a working/riding boot with a more rounded toe box and low heel. This boot is great and comfortable. I had foot surgery this summer but I can spend 6 hours in this boot and feel great afterwards. Your customer service is the best!

I wear these boots all the time. I bought these in an 8 wide. I wear orthotics and was thrilled to find a boot that I can wear comfortably with them. It is very rare. They were comfy from the start. No break in period. And seem true to size to me.

Could not be better - Just arrived! Could not be happier with these boots - did not think I would ever find a comfortable, wide Western boot, with a low heel, for my hurting feet. These are very comfortable, nice non-slip bottom, low heel; the color is much darker (and better) than the photo. You will not be unhappy with these!

Ariat roper boots - I am really impressed, these are the most comfortable boots I’ve ever had, except maybe UGGS. The sizing is a little large so I got 1/2 a size smaller. They offer c width which I recommend. The first time I put them on, they were a little tight but stretched out after a few wearings and now they feel really good. Not too pointy and not too fancy, just right.

Finally in Wide Width - I have a wide foot and most Ariats do not come in Wide widths, so I buy a half size larger and they seem fine. I have 2 pairs of Ariat boots in regular width and when I saw these in a Wide I ordered immediately. They are perfect! I seem to have had a shorter "break in" time period with them also.

Great work, riding, around town boot - I love this boot, and all Ariat boots and shoes. They rival Birkenstock for comfort in my opinion. I buy their boots for my husband and children as well. They were true to size for me but I have a narrow foot so some may find them a little narrow.

Good boot- I always wear a 10 1/2, D width. The Ariat was too narrow. I then ordered a 10 1/2, EE width. The boot feels very comfortable. Would recommend the boot for work.

Outstanding boot - This is my 2nd pair of these boots. They are the best boot that I have ever owned. I am tuff on boots and they can take it. It is VERY HARD for me to find a boot or shoe. I had to go up a size even when ordering a "C" width to make it fit but it is well worth it. And let me say Zappos has to be the very best place to shop of any kind of store on the web.

Hard to put on! These were a gift for a friend. She loves the look and fit once they're on, but at first, she almost gave up on getting them on (even though we bought a half-size larger than usual).

The Roper Boot..... Great little boot. True to size and width. It is darker than what the picture shows.

What a great find- Very few western-styled boots are available in a wide width, and even fewer are comfortable for me, but these are an exception on both counts. I almost didn't order them since a C width usually isn't wide enough for me but these are plenty wide in a C. They feel a generous half a size larger than the marked size, but I'll wear them with thick socks, so that doesn't matter. They are outstandingly comfortable underfoot, with excellent support and cushioning, and will require very little breaking in. Only the area around the ankle is a little stiff at first. Some reviewers had trouble getting them on and off but I had no difficulty with that. It's worth mentioning that the leather is darker than it looks in the picture; the color is a rich cocoa brown. (They look great with jeans.) As usual, Zappos provided the nearest thing to instant gratification in online shopping: I ordered on Saturday, requested standard shipping, and received my boots on Monday morning. I see from the Ariat website that this style is also made in black. Zappos, if you stock them in black, I *will* buy them. Hint, hint.

I tried a 10 medium and these shoes felt a half size longer than I expected, they looked slightly long or maybe it just felt that way. The width is ok for me but I'm going to try a 1/2 size down in a wider width instead of a medium. They are so pretty and I think they would be comfortable. The calf width was a little tight though, I have a wider calf.
