Runs VERY small...needed the 10 1/2 for my daughter, who normally wears an 8 1/2 or 9.

Great Shoes! I bought these for my daughter -- she loves them! Be sure to order a size up -- I'm glad I read previous reviews. She's a size 8; I ordered a 9 and they fit perfectly. Great construction for the price.

Good beginning tap shoe - ORDER A FULL SIZE LARGER! These shoes were slightly uncomfortable at first, but after about an hour of wear they softened up and now I'm very glad I purchased them. I bought them to replace a pair of Leo's tap shoes that I bought from a local dance store. The Leo's taps scratched the dance floor (there wasn't a screw loose or anything). These shoes have been great... no scratching the floor or blisters on my feet.

I can tap well with control, and I have gotten a lot of compliments on the look.

Great first tap shoe - I recently began a tap class, and borrowed a pair of Bloch’s from my instructor. I had never worn tap shoes before, and since the borrowed pair were comfortable, I stuck with the same brand when I was ready to make my purchase. Although I purchased a different model (the borrowed pair I had been using had shoe laces), I found my new pair to be comfortable and easy to get used to. I would buy this shoe again, and highly recommend it.

Great beginner tap shoe! This shoe has an added pad on the bottom (sole) to prevent slipping and falling, which is great for a beginner. The shoe is very comfortable once I got the correct size. I always wear an 8 1/2 but I had to order this in a size 10 and it fits perfectly.

According to a friend - I ordered these a 1/2 size larger for a friend (she's a 9.5; we ordered a 10). She loves them and said they were very comfortable. I ordered them again for myself a 1/2 size larger but got the wrong size. So I wear my 20+ year old tap shoes to class. Gotta say, shoes are made much better now. In comparing her Bloch’s to my old shoes (don't know what brand; it has worn off from use), there seems to be more shock absorption. My shoes don't have the scored rubber bottom or the cushioned insole. With that said, I am returning the Bloch’s I got in the wrong size and will wait until my size is restocked. 3 ladies in the class have them and rave, but buy 1/2 size larger.

Nice Tap - The shoes look great and taped nicely. But my shoe size is 9 so I got a nine in the taps but when I got them the right foot felt slightly smaller.

Bloch's Tap-On - These shoes are great! I'm spending a fair amount of time in them (probably two hours a day, 5-6 days a week) and find them to be comfortable and flexible, yet sturdy. They're also lighter than I'd expected. Plus, the sound is very good. I have a naturally wide foot and probably would have gotten a wider size, if offered, but I'm finding that the shoes are breaking in well, so after three weeks, they're very comfortable. Thank you again, Zappos! I wouldn't have bought these shoes elsewhere.

Not bad for a beginners shoe. I'm a beginning tap student (6 weeks), but have taken many other forms of dance classes in the past. Unlike everyone else, these shoes fit true to size (most dance shoes are this way for me). I originally purchased a size 9 because everyone said the Bloch Tap-Ons ran small. I found them for a lot less at www.discountdance.com and the people at Zappos were very good about giving me the price difference. I exchanged my 9's for an 8.5 and Zappos even gave me a free upgrade in shipping because my class was beginning in a few days. The 8.5's are a little big so I have to wear thin socks with them. If I had time I would have exchanged the 8.5's for 8's. I think the Mary Jane style is good for a beginner that doesn't spend a whole lot of time in their shoes. If I decide to continue tap I will buy a lace up shoe because they're more comfortable and offer more stability. I also think the heel on Bloch's Tap-On shoe might be a little bit lower than most other tap shoes.

Awesome - We have no dance stores close by where we live. I was amazed at the sizable selection of dance shoes you offer - my daughter loves these shoes. They are beautifully made and leather! Price was right for that as well. Our initial order was for size 8 1/2 - we had a size 8 1/2 and a size 9 in the box. (Never happened before!) We called and then ordered the size 9's for a better fit. In the second shipment we received a size 8 1/2 and size 9 shoe - to perfectly match the pairs in the correct sizes- and we sent the 8 1/2's back. Thanks for hassle free shopping!

Like the looks. I liked the looks of this shoe compared to lace-up or slip on tap shoes. The heel height is great. Fellow students complimented me on how they liked them. I ordered 1 full size up from street shoe, but would only go half size higher if another pair ordered.

Smart buy - These were comfortable from the get go, and make you feel (and look) like a real tapper even if you are only a beginner. They make a great sound.

Tapping away - I received this product and it was exactly what my daughter needed for her dance class. It fits very well and the size is true. I am very pleased.

Good shoes! These shoes run about 1 size larger than normal US street shoe size. (many dancing shoes have different sizing from street shoes). The overall fit is very good, the leather is soft. The insole is cushioned which makes them quite comfortable and the strap is very long to acommodate a high instep.

Good price - These are nicely made. But make sure to order at least a full size larger than your street size. I had to order a size and half larger. Thank God for Zappos' free return policy!

First pair of tap shoes - These shoes look really nice and have nicely cushioned insoles. The only problem that I had with the fit is that the wrong size insole (it was wider than the shoe) was glued into the left shoe making an uncomfortable ridge in the side of the shoe. I trimmed away the excess insole and the shoe feels and fits better. Definitely order this shoe 1/2 to 1 whole size bigger than your street shoes as it runs small.

Got a half size larger than usual and that was fine for my first few months of use, wearing thin socks. Then they began to feel tight in the toes (it’s winter and my feet haven't gotten any bigger). Cute, but only moderately comfortable. Would recommend going 1 full size up.

My daughter is usually a 7.5. After reading many reviews, I ordered an 8.5 and a 9 for her to try. They were both too big. I reordered an 8 and it fit. So for her, only a half size up was correct. I guess this shoe runs differently for everyone. Luckily, Zappos makes ordering and returning easy.

These are great shoes that are very comfortable. I am glad that I read the other reviews first and went up an entire size when ordering because if I would not have they would not have fit. I am only able to wear very thin socks with these shoes, so I would suggest going up more if you want to wear thicker socks. Otherwise, they arrived in perfect condition and are very comfortable.

This is a perfect choice for a first time adult tap dance student who has had multiple sprained ankles and cannot safely wear heels. I normally wear a 7W; following the sizing suggestions I ordered an 8M. They fit perfectly. The strap does not have holes in it, and there is not a metal poker-thing on the buckle, but instead has a grabber, which gives it an infinite amount of tightness settings. I hate straps with holes where one is too loose and the next one is too tight! The taps sound good, too. I am very happy with my purchase, and have been recommending these shoes and Zappos to other students.

I usually wear a 9.5 but ordered a 10. They fit great but no room for socks so I wear them barefoot. I dont have a dance background just signed up for a basic tap course and love these. The instructor mentioned these have a bit of a heel that is more for stage dancing but it isn't in the way for me. They are comfortable and feel very stable and sound great on a tap floor. Also these are high quality compared to the other students in the class with cheaper shoes their sound isn't as good.
