First bought this boot around 1990 and used it for work in South America and traveling 3rd world. After about 10 years of minimum use the glue came undone from the sole so I bought a new pair. I have foot issues (broken arch, nerve damage in ball of foot) and find that these are the greatest boots ever. I have a hard time wearing any shoes but with an insert to soften and absorb shock and two pairs of socks these boots are really comfortable. The new model is better than the old one but heavier.

Bought these boots to go backpacking in the Absaroka/Beartooth Mountain Range of Gallatin National Forest in Montana. Outstanding choice. Comfortable from the first. I wear a Size 11 and so ordered the Size US Men's 10.5 and they fit like a glove. Boots needed no breaking in, provided tremendous support for my body and the 50lb pack I was carrying. I ordered and recommend the Superfeet: Premium Green insoles to go with them which was also a great choice. What more can I say? When hiking it all starts at the feet and these are by far the best boots for that endeavor I've ever encountered.

Great hiking boots! Tried many other brands looking for truly waterproof hiking boots. Asolo were the only brand that kept my feet dry while walking through wet grasses all day. Although they are still a little stiff after a month of hiking every other day, they are comfortable and still waterproof!

Ordering my third pair of these excellent boots. Previous two pair of soles wore out after approximately 7 years of hiking and construction work. So I have been an Asolo wearer for over 14 years. The uppers although scuffed up after the punishing environments were still functional and comfortable. So at close to a lotta bucks for pair of boots they're a bargain basically cost me around a lotta bucks a year.

Wish they looked more like traditional boots. I think boot fit is very individual, but these were right for me! I have a preference for narrower style, tight-fitting shoes (think indoor soccer shoes, climbing shoes) Broke them in from brand new on a NH 4000 footer. I was expecting miserable feet as unbroken-in boots tend to be a terrible idea, but not even a single blister out of these guys after a 10 mile day! The entire trail was mud, slush, and water several inches deep. Had to cross 3 raging rivers as it was spring. At the end of the day, my feet were perfectly dry. As long as the water/mud doesn't get over the top of these boots, you will be dry. We'll see how they hold up long-term but first impressions are very good.

I loved these boots because of the fit and comfort. I like solid leather boots that give my feet support. I do not wear them all the time, mostly I wear them on weekends. I do some hiking but mostly they are just general wear. So boots tend to last a long time for me. The sole separated from the boot although there is a lot of tread left. At this price point, I would have expected the boots to hold up better. I wore my old Vasque Sundowners until the tread was gone. If the price point was about half of what it is, I would get another pair.

I have had two pairs of these boots. Very comfortable. I hunt in them in the mountains of NC. They will only last about a year before they start leaking and toe comes loose.

These are great boots for hiking, however the sole of my left boot came detached recently after only a moderate 150 miles of hiking. I don't think that is normal and the store has been helpful - but I thought I should warn you. These boots are on the heavy side and perfect for trekking or backpacking - or if you just need extra support. And they can be resoled at many locations, making them durable for many, many years.

My double socked foot for hiking: 280mm long, 111mm wide, Euro size 44. Boot: US 10.5, Euro 44.5. Length okay, too narrow across my forefoot. One size chart said my foot was an E width, boot is a D. Toe box was cramped. Felt very hard, like tile, under balls of feet. Boot has a slight rocking motion to help roll into the step; I liked that.

I purchased these for work. I am a land surveyor and I hike over rough terrain, through mud and stand on asphalt. These boots have held up well, but they are far from comfortable. The eyelet lace on top of my toes has worn through the inner lining of the boot and has caused quite a sore on both of my feet. I have been wearing these for 6 months and now it looks as if I need to retire them. Quite a shame as these boots are touted as some of the best made.
