This is a stout shoe. I purchased this shoe because of the style (less holes than the other styles available from Keen). I prefer the Whisper over the Newport H2 because of the weight of the shoe (Newport might be an ounce more than the Whisper). I prefer the Newport H2 over the Whisper because of the style.

I walk 2.3 miles to work and then the same back each day, and these are holding up very well. They have great support and are VERY comfy except for one issue: they aren't particularly cool. I wonder some days whether my feet are kept any cooler than if I had on shoes and socks. I tried several other Keen styles before getting these, as well as the Ahnu's. I would have got the Ahnu's if they had had decent arch support, as I think they are otherwise better-designed. Of the Keen's, these Newports were the most durable and have the best arch support. Overall, I'm glad I got these, but I just may drill some holes through the toes one of these days so as to get a breeze coming in. If I do, I'll let you know how that works out.

I love these shoes. I got the neutral gray/purple and they actually go with quite a lot of summer clothing that isn't just purple! They are comfortable for all day wear, including a lot of hiking (I can't even say that for athletic shoes/sneakers). Excellent arch support. When they get completely wet they dry very quickly and it is tolerable to keep wearing them without getting that horrible wet foot feeling. I must say I tried both the Keen Venice H2 and the Whisper first as they were cheaper and looked a little more feminine. The Venice gave me horrible blisters for some reason and the Whisper was okay for short trips in the water but too tight to wear all day. But this shoe is perfect. No blisters. No tightness. I do have feet that are on the wide side of normal if that helps anybody decide between Keen's options. I rarely actually wear a size wide, but I need a shoe on the wider side. I did have to size up from my usual 7.5 to 8 which surprised me since my feet are between a size 7 and 7.5. Otherwise my toes bumped the edge. But the 8 fits like a glove. In the other two Keen models I tried I was true to size so I think this model in particle runs large. Highly recommend.

I ordered this shoe based on the wonderful reviews, but was a bit concerned since it does not come in wide widths (which is what I always wear). I am thrilled! The drawstring allows you to customize the fit of the shoe. I wore them 6 hours straight, so comfortable and supportive. I usually get knee pain within 30 minutes of walking, but not with these. Very delighted with my purchase. I did order half size up as recommended and they fit perfectly. The only drawback is they can be a little difficult putting on but I am sure that will change in time. Great for working in the yard, sole conforms to uneven terrain.

Great shoes. I go between an 8 and 8 1/2. Got these in the larger size and they fit just right. Easily adjustable. Wore them hiking, to a dog agility competition and white water rafting during my first week of vacation. Good for light hiking, not a lot of support for all day running in agility competition and for rafting day they were perfect!

I have been eyeing these Keen sandals- my husband swears by his. I have to admit, they were comfortable from the minute I put them on. I love that I can walk in them- they are very sturdy. They hose off, wash with soap and water (you need to do this to keep them fresh!) and dry quickly. I am sold. With EU sizing, you should order your EU size which is about a half size up from your US size. That worked perfectly for me.

Where do I start? I personally love my new Keen Newport H2 sandals. They are very comfortable and have a great arch support. I needed extra comfort and support due to foot surgeries and these sandals supply it. The heel is nicely cushioned. I bought mine a size bigger than I normally wear (after reading the reviews) and just love them. I would buy them again.

I wore these shoes -- without breaking them in -- on a trip to Europe. They were fantastic! I walked miles each day, hiked, and swam with them and never had any issues. I highly recommend these shoes! I wear a 6.5 or 7 shoe. The 7 fit the best. I also have a narrow foot and they were not too wide.

These are the most comfortable and wonderful compromise of a tennis shoe. You get the support, the style, and the cool air on your feet, great summer shoes, I love mine!

With a history of heal spurs, anything other than hiking boots were painful. However, since I purchased the Newport H2, I live in these, especially now that summer is here. I've worn them on more than ten 5 mile, moderate hikes without issue. I love these and am back for more colors. Move forward with confidence on this purchase.

When I bought this shoe, I tried to find out the difference between this one and the Keen Whisper, and nobody could tell me...so I'll tell you -- this one is a more substantial shoe, and has better grip, a thicker sole and better arch support. I was looking for something my feet would love, and that I could wear in town, at the beach, in the lake, or on a hike. Check. The elastic adjustable straps mean you can make it a little tighter when you need more support (ie, hiking), and looser when you're just walking. I went on a 3-mile hike the second time I wore them, and was amazed that they were comfortable all the way through. My only issue is that my feet get hot and sweaty if it's really hot outside -- I wish there was a little more ventilation. My guess is that the Whisper might do better hotter conditions, but I decided to go with this one because of the extra support.

Love them! Easy on and off, look great, comfy. And adjustable around my bunion if I may be so personal. Ordered a half size larger as suggested.

I have many pairs of KEEN shoes, these mare my favorite style, right out of the box they feel like an old friend. merrell

I like this shoe but it's too large and I'll have to send it back. I ordered an 8 because of the suggestions of others. I am a 7 or 7 1/2. It's the possibility of a half size that causes a problem sometimes. Also, a tad too wide. Otherwise wonderful for the right size and foot width -- nice looking, comfortable bed. Pretty color for long summer skirts.

I wore these shoes on a bike trip in Austria a few weeks ago. They were/are great shoes. My only complaint is that they are hard to get on. Unlike many reviewers, the shoes were true to size for me. My foot is on the narrower side.

I just got my first pair of Keens Newport and I love them. They are so comfortable. I got the beet red color and it is beautiful. Will be going back for the blue.

These shoes are quite comfortable and a more stylish/sporty/quirky alternative to clunky gym shoes. I have problem feet and can get away with wearing these running errands, chasing my son, etc. I have noticed that my feet pronate a lot less while wearing these shoes. I would not wear them to work out or for a power walk since I need orthotics. My son gets a kick out of me wearing them because then he, Mom and Dad are all wearing the same style shoe! I love that I was able to choose a "girl" color! I generally wear a size 9, but as with all Keen shoes I needed a half size larger. I am a consistent 9.5 in Keen. Always a huge fan of Keen and Zappos!

These are incredibly comfortable sandals! It feels like I am wearing gym shoes and my feet do not get sore after wearing them all day. I had owned the blue Keen Newport h2 for a couple years and liked them so much that I decided to buy a black pair. I normally wear a size 10 in the Keen leather shoes but I wear a 9 in these sandals.

I love the Keen Newport. I purchased these because I wore my last pair out! This shoe is comfortable, but I buy it for the arch support -- plus the fact I can toss it in the washer if need be. My only gripe is the color; I wanted something more neutral, but the color selections were pretty limited.

Traction was perfect for all day hiking even though water and slimy/mossy areas. I never lost my footing. The shoe was comfortable all day. We were hiking 8-12 hrs and I never had I problem. I would and have already recommend them to everyone.

I just bought my first pair of Keens Newport H2. I find them to be extremely comfortable, providing great arch support, and very flexible and lightweight. I would highly recommend them.

Last year I purchased a pair of the Keen Whisper. I love the fit and the comfort. They are the most comfortable pair of shoes I own. I ordered a few more styles this year. When I received them I noticed they have a much larger reinforced rubber toe that was probably designed for greater protection for hiking. Visually I thought it really detracted from the overall cuteness and appeal of the shoe so I sent them back.

Love them! They are a bulky shoe, but perfect for hiking or wearing around the house to do yard work!

These shoes are awesome! Perfect for slipping into as you head out to the yard (good toe protection) and comfortable to run around in. The waterproof feature is awesome and they look really great with both workout wear and casual clothes.

I bought these for my oldest teenage daughter. We're going to Disney this summer, and I wanted to get her a pair of comfortable shoes for her to walk around the park in. She loves them. She loves how they look (these aren't my style, but I have to admit, they look much better in person than they do in the picture) and she says they are the most comfortable pair of shoes she's ever had on her feet. She put them on and wouldn't take them off - and she insists that every time she takes a step, she feels air "wooshing between [her] toes" - her words, not mine.
