Purchased this pair to replace a pair with defects in the left sandal of another pair. Same problem with this pair - defects in left sandal. These are definitely seconds and there is a clearly a lack of quality control at Bean. Bean's excuse of that if you are not satisfied you can return it is nice, but it would be nicer to get a pair without defects. it takes time to pack up defects and return them.

I like the style and functionality of this shoe. Unfortunately I had to return the pair I recieved for an exchange even though my original order was half size larger than I normally order. Additionally, the pair I finally ordered - largest size I have ever purchased, is somewhat tight in the width.

I bought a pair of these a year ago. Like the ECCOS before them, are made poorly, A pair of sandals back in the day used to last years and replaced only when they no longer looked good. This is the second pair of shoes that has ripped from the sole by the ankle!! One star because they lasted one year...and I live in Portland, Oregon, not exactly the sunshine state! So very disappointed in how things are made these days.

This model came highly recommended and I purchased a pair in 2014' exclusively for light hiking and water use, so they were not worn on a daily basis. They fit great and the soles show little to no wear, however most of the stitching has come apart, especially around the heel. They cannot be repaired and overall, I'm very disappointed with the construction. The heel section has essentially disintegrated, which is obviously disappointing. I purchased these for the extra foot protection, but moving forward I will roll the dice with my trusty Chacos. I can confidently state that my Keen's were not abused, which is funny because they work great for my kids who are hard on their shoes.

Disappointed! The stitching is giving out only after a few months. Nice shoe--but not worth the price when it starts falling apart. :(

From Traveling Maine Family: I have NEVER had any issues with the multiple Keens I have purchased until recently. I purchased the above for my son and they ripped out (strapping came clear OUT of sole) when he most needed them hiking a trail on vacation. Perhaps this particular pair was faulty, but I will not be replacing them with the same... I feel like Keens are no longer made as they once were- my daughter's most recent Keens are also coming unglued, whereas her past pair are now on their 3rd owner.

Very disappointed in the quality of these sandals. While Keen usually makes a good product these are clearly "2nds" and not of 1st quality. Quality control is becoming non-existent.

Knowing that this sandal comes smaller than it is sized, I ordered them a full size bigger than my normal size.. The size came out fine, but I could only get the sandal onto my foot after a lot of struggle. The opening is way too small for my foot, even when the strings are fully loosened. This sandal is being returned.

Unlike my son's previous pair of these sandals which survived more than a year on his feet, this new pair is coming unstitched in the usual spots after only ONE MONTH. We plan to inquire about returns even though they are used.

I got these because I had heard they were quite comfortable for walking. Unfortunately they have a bump on the sole that presses on the flat of my foot just behind my pinky toes. The longer I walk with them the more noticeable it becomes and after awhile it's downright painful. I've tried my best to break them in, but it's not going away. I'm going to have to call it quits on these.

AWFUL. This design is thoughtless. Because the straps do not adjust, and the lace system does not loosen enough, you must squeeze your foot through the ankle opening. For me, that required two hands and a newly invented cross between a yoga position and a ballerina pose. Once they were on, they felt pretty good, but what a pain in the neck, back and leg. Frustrating.

Great shoes, well use to be. I own two pairs of these shoes. First one purchased in 2012 and still great shoes. Second pair of identical shoes, purchased in 2014, total junk. Seems like lack of quality control. Bottom of right foot simply feel off. I used gorilla glue to fix this issue. Second issue, right foot, arch support piece. Fell out, glue used must have given up. 2012 pair has no issues of this kind, and this original pair has been used in sea water all the time. Over all I am very disappointed with new shoes.

Poor choice - the shoe is quite heavy and theres poor air flow. Feet get soggy after a while which kind of defeats the purpose of wearing this kind of a design. The sole is particularly prone to not dispersing moisture from the bottom of your foot. overall I would not recommend this shoe.

I bought a pair of keen sandals when I left for my trip to Europe last year and wore them and loved them and still do. The comfort is outstanding and the ability to slip them on and off is great. The bungie like cord with toggle is really a nice addition to securing the fit and comfort of this sandal. the soles are rugged and yet comfortable and soft. My Dad saw them and tried them on and asked to wear them one evening. He is by no means a sandal kind of guy. He loved the comfort and fit and I had a time getting them away from him. I got him a pair for Father's Day and he has worn them just about every day. He enjoys the rubber bumper toe and the toggle in the front. I never thought I would see my Dad in a pair of rubber soled sandals but he swears by them. He is thinking of buying another pair.

I wear a size 12 and ordered a size 12, they are closer to a size 10 and not a "D" but probably a "C" or "B" width. I am not sure who sizes these shoes, but they are way off. This is the second pair of shoes I have purchased from Bean that are not sized properly and will be my last. And on top of these not fitting I also get to pay $6.50 to ship them back. Very disappointed.

I was pretty pumped after reading so many great reviews on these sandals. Sadly, that's the only good thing I can say about them as I cannot get them onto my feet. I wear an 11 1/2 to a 12 and there is no way on earth I can get my feet into these size 12 sandals. In fact, I'm not sure a 13 would work. For the extremely high price and LL Bean reputation, I expected something I could wear. Very, very disappointed and will hesitate purchasing anything here again. This is the second shoe I have purchased where the sizing was an issue. Save your money, don't spend it on these things.

This is the second pair of Keen sandals I have owned. They are comfortable but....the first pair had a glue/rubber like odor at all times and this most recent pair has what appears to be a 9.5 size upper webbing attached to the size 10 sole platform on the right foot sandal. This makes it very difficult to put on and I will likely pitch the sandals. Probably no more Keen sandals after this!

I wear a 12 regular and generally have no trouble finding shoes that fit, but these sandals felt extremely tight and constraining, particularly in the toe area. I could not wiggle my toes at all in these sandals -- very uncomfortable.

Beware of Keen's, they look good, feel good, but do not hold up and Keen will not replace them even if they were not subjected to undo wear and tear. I'm not going to support a company that doesn't support it's customers.

I have a size 12 foot even if I ordered size 13 the shoe would not fit my foot, it is not deep enough it might fit someone with a flipper. I will be returning it soon.

The stitching for the elastic band going around the heel came loose the first day hiking creek beds in Utah slick rock canyons. Had to do field repair. Sent pictures and email to Keen alerting them about this defect. They finally responded to my second email that they would consider giving a refund however my email had stated I already had a refund. They said nothing about investigating the defective stitching! I have seen the same defective stitching on these sandals at various stores. Buyer Beware!

Have had a pair of these Keens for 5 years. Hardly any wear. More comfortable than shoes. Only use them in summers. Size 10 fits perfect although I use a size 10.5 W with shoes.

Couldn't even get these things over my toes. I wear 10.5 in every brand. No problems. These were like a size 7 tops. Now I get the trouble to return them and wait forever to be credited. Would have been much easier to buy these in a store. Not Zappos' fault, but Keen's sizing is awful.

These sandals are at least one size too small - suggest buying one size up. Sadly, the largest size is 13, which is way smaller than expected!

I am very disappointed with these shoes; they are not waterproof. I wore these shoes for about a week, teetering on the edge of returning them due to the fact that they run larger and wider than I anticipated. Then last night I got caught in a rain storm (I was certain these would not give me problems). I was wrong, they stayed wet for almost 24 hours and my feet have chafed and gotten extremely clammy (not to mention stink, the shoes that is). I don't recommend anyone buy these. I'm very disappointed also because after all the research I did on this type of shoe, these received some of the best marks, horrible!
