The left shoe was true to size the right shoe was smaller, although labeled as one size. Overall poor quality in my opinion

i have owned two pairs of the H2. the first pair was great. But my second pair lasted only a year before they started to come apart. And, when I contacted Keen they definitely did not stand behind their product.

I loved the predecessor to these shoes.
Adjustable strap at ankle, really great to trek in because of resilient sole. Not these. With little ankle stretching available and no adjustment strap, these are very difficult to pull on. I suspect they would be virtually impossible to put on when wet because the foot would not slide down into the toe. There seems to be nothing in the sole but hard rubber, making you feel like you are pounding at every step. I've never written a negative review of LLBean products in 50 years of purchases and never sent anything back as unsatisfactory but these.

I got these because I had an older pair of Newport leather version. These new ones fit too tight exact same size as my old ones. Like other reviews I didn't want a size bigger otherwise I'd be wearing clown shoes. The soles are hard as well. I'm not sure what the deal is with Keen if their sacrificing quality materials for cheaper material but same big price. I keep buying them hoping each shoe will be like the old generation shoe but disappointed each time. I bought a pair of hiking shoes a couple yrs ago and they were like wearing two stone slabs with laces had no bending properties to them at all. Ended up donating them and I’m sure who ever got them tossed them. Sorry Keen I think I'm going to move onto a different company. :(

Love Um and Hate Um. They're a great shoe while they last. I use these on vacations where they will get a workout in the salt water. I've had three pairs and each has the same failure. The ankle strap stitching comes loose and the strap falls apart. I'm guessing the threads can't handle the salt water. Keen says they never heard that before yet I've heard from others that the same thing happened to them.

I bought this model based on an similiar Keen model I've had for a few years. Same basic design but the older model had an "A" frame construction, no antimicrobial footbed, and were not marked as waterproof. Couldn't find this style so I bought the Newport H2. Not a great decision. The fit was tight. Not only in width but overall. They have stretched a bit over time but still not as comfortable as they should be. My biggest complaint is that this shoe is HOT! Makes my feet sweat, even using thin footies or no sock at all. Tight in the toe box, tight in the back, not easy to slip on. Will not buy again.

I was so excited when I ordered the sandals, and really wanted to love them. I'm a size 11.5, but ordered size 12 just to be on the safe side.
When they arrived I could barely get them on my feet, and felt way too tight when I put them on. I know my feet are wide, but I've never had any issues with medium sized sandals or shoes. I even tried to walk around for an hour, but had to take them off to get the blood flow back to my feet.
Bottom line is that these sandals may be great for many people, but I had to return them. I'm surprised other people haven't experienced this.

I bought these shoes as an alternative to the heavy boots I usually wear to try to help keep my feet dry during the summer. I find them to be very comfortable and easy to put on and take off, but surprisingly my feet seem to sweat even more in them than in my boots. After wearing them for a couple hours and then taking them off they smell so bad my girlfriend won't let them stay in the house and often makes me wash my feet. I have never had this problem with any other shoe or sandal. I will probably not continue to use them as daily footwear and am investigating other sandal styles, but I will keep them for camping and hiking.

Ordered these after buying Newports and thinking that I might want a different material for the upper. Ordered in an 11 which is a perfect fit in Newport but I can't even get my foot in them in the Newport H2. Why are 11's so different in virtually the same shoe? Returning.

Had these shoes for 2 weeks on my trip to Thailand. I wore them almost day and loved the functionality. Great for walking on a beach or on jungle trail. Unfortunately both back straps broke and I am returning these shoes. I would definitely consider buying them again, but they need to be more durable.

Bought a pair of the Newport H2 from Zappos, love at first wearing. A brilliant design, comfortable and cool. I say cool because I find that all shoes made with synthetic materials tend to be hot. Only slight complaint was the open heel that caused discomfort while driving. The grit on the car floor mats digs into the exposed heel. Regardless, I was extremely pleased with the sandal, so I decided to order more, just in case the model was discontinued. I now have three pairs. As time went on I began to experience discomfort. I kept thinking that I had a stone or some sort of debris under my toes. In fact, the foot-bed was deforming. The patterns that are molded into the foot-bed caused ridges to form along the pattern lines which rubbed the sides of my big toe. This in turn caused a large painful callus to form rendering the sandal useless. I was sent another pair by Zappos (love you guys), to replace the defective pair. But now I know that this was not a defective unit, as all of my sandals have developed the same problem. I have four pairs of unwearable shoes. I have written to Keen about my plight and have not heard from them yet.

Have had 2 pair of these and the straps at the ankles have come apart. On one pair it was even worse - the entire sole on both shoes separated from the uppers! Two years out of pair of these Keen's is about all you should count on. That's a huge amount of money a year, BTW.

Bought these for my husband because I love my Keens and they have lasted over 5 years. Unfortunately, his separated at the sole (at a rather critical moment kayaking on the river!) and are now useless. Very disappointing experience, I will be hesitant to replace my own now with another pair of Keens as i will be worried about the quality.

I bought these based on a recommendation of a friend and to replace an old pair of Teva sandals. I love my Teva's but my wife says they look old fashioned so I bought these for a trip to Cozumel. They are absolutely terrible in the sand. It packs into the front of the shoe and becomes uncomfortable within 20 steps. To get the sand out you have to either take them off or walk quite a ways shaking your feet. I am hoping they will work better at the lake where there is no sand. Right now they appear to be a pricey disappointment.

First off, I have to say that these are the most comfortable sandals I have ever come across. The reason for my low rating is the sandal's durability. I have had two pair of these sandals and within a couple of months, they started to fall apart in the toe and heel area. I didn't bother to contact Keen when the first pair came apart, since I bought them at an outlet store. I fixed them with my Speedy Stitcher, and they are still hanging in there.
I called Keen customer support about the second pair. I have had them 5 months and they are starting to come apart. Unfortunately, I didn't get a favorable response from customer service. My wife is active duty military and we are stationed in Puerto Rico. The representative said that they can't ship a replacement pair to Puerto Rico (surprising since there are Keen dealers here in PR). She said to fill out the warranty and they'll "see what they can do..." Time will tell if I can get a replacement pair.
Again, they are super comfortable and I have been using them for all kinds of outdoor activities (hiking, biking, kayaking, etc.). It's just a shame that the quality is just not there.

I liked the closed toe, they are sturdy and good in the water, but the quality is very suspect. I bought these in April and by mid July the stitching was coming apart leaving holes in the neoprene, when spending $90 bucks for a sandal, you should expect much more! I wanted these to last for more than just one summer, very disapointed.

A good looking shoe, I was wanting to replace an older pair of the same model Keen. To my dismay, the cut of the shoe was slightly different. The area near my small toe on my left foot hags up on the leather flap of the upper. Also, the big toe area of the inner sole has an indention that is uncomfortable. I should have sent these back, but I kept hoping they would work out. Now I'm wearing my old pair again which are ragged.

Boy, Keen's are just all over the map when it comes to sizing. I've had a pair for years that were a half-size larger than my normal shoe size. When looking for a new pair, I got the Newport H2 and had to go up yet another half-size. Then it turns out that, unlike my current pair, the Newport H2 has a (for lack of a better term) "toe-ridge" thing on the footbed that I suppose should hit just in back of your toes in that space where toes meet the foot. But everyone's feet are shaped differently. In my case, even though the shoe fit, the toe-ridge hit right under my toes, so every step felt like I was stepping on a pebble! And I was wearing Keens 'cause my toes hurt already!

Brought with on my trip to Israel, expecting them to be similar to my leather Newports. These were way too narrow and left blisters everywhere. Overall, not what I have grown to expect from this incredible brand.

I was very happy with these shoes the first 4 or 5 times that I wore them. Unfortunately, after wearing them a few times, I noticed that the stitching on the labels of both shoes was coming off and that a small hole had formed on the left side, under the stitching. When I called customer service, the rep told me that another person had called earlier in the day to report a similar problem. They were very comfortable, but it might be best to avoid them until they get this problem sorted out.
By the way, Zappos customer service was excellent in dealing with the return!

Used these shoes for fishing in the summer of 2010. Upon return from my first outing this year, I noticed that the outside fabric at the very rear of both shoes (where the Keen logo is) has torn away from the backing. The only thing keeping my heel in the shoes now is the flexible neoprene...not optimal. It seems that they should have either wrapped the nylon all the way around the back of the heel, or come up with some better reinforcement. Very surprising for a company with such a good reputation.

I really wanted to like this sandal. So badly, in fact, I ordered several pairs before giving up. Ultimately, the quality control is what did it. One pair had defects in the sole that jabbed my foot; several others had inconsistent attachment points where the straps attached to the sole (leading to an un-uniform fit), and they all fit poorly on the inside of my foot, above the arch. I have feet barely wider than average. If you have wide feet, forget these sandals.
