Solid Feel - This shoe is for anyone who likes the outdoors and getting wet in the process. It may look like a sandal, but the sole provides a good solid boot like feel underfoot. The toe cap protects my little piggies when I'm thrashing about. An overall good shoe, for me the fit is pretty good; the stated size fits my american stompers. Kind of wish there was some kind of waterproof padding though, but no biggie.

Look cool but not as comfortable as I would have like. This is an excellent shoe for the outdoor person. I went in the ocean with these and then on a hike with no problems. This is what they are ideal for, but they take a while to break in and I find if I am just hanging out I go for another shoe.

Fine Birky alternative - My daughter got a pair of these earlier this year, and I finally had to try them for myself. I'm a Birkenstock wearer from way back, so I've got a pretty high standard of comfort in sandals. I'm really happy with the looks and the waterproof nature -- I can wear them in the rain without worrying about soaking the leather (as I would with my Birkys). But they're not quite as comfortable. I'm still getting a little irritation from the stitching of the "straps." And for some reason, the "big toe hole" of the left sandal just isn't where my big toe is. So my toe rests on the little ridge, and it's annoying. But I'll keep wearing them. Besides being good for the rain, they're a lot safer for biking than Birkys!

Good Sandal - To me, it's a rather ugly, funky sandal. It is comfortable b/c of the wider toebox, but the arch area edge/lip of the footbed is slightly elevated, which makes it a little uncomfortable over extended walks...and a deal killer for me when there are other sandals without this "issue." Almost perfect in the fit dept. If Keen only takes note of fixing this area. Definitely try before you buy.

I bought these shoes for a 45 day trip to Europe after reading good reviews. I have been wearing them for almost two weeks breaking them in. I like the look and the fit. My complaint is the absorbency in the inner sole of the shoe. I may have hot feet but I never have noticed before. The inner soles are rubber and my feet are constantly hot and wet. the only good thing is that my wet feet don't slip in the shoes. The insides are a little rough but they are getting better. Overall a good shoe and will be great for hiking the cobblestones.

Keen's Newport H2 a blister of a rub - I have narrow flat feet and consistently have fit problems when buying shoes. These sandals were true to size and fit great. I am somewhere between a 10 1/2 to 11. I bought the 11's and they were right on the money. However, the inner neoprene liner on the nylon strap on the inside arch of one of the shoes folded in and created a blister on the instep of my foot. Maybe this happened because I am flat footed and had more pressure there than the average person. And yet, it seems to me that this design would do that wherever someone had a pressure point and some movement with the foot. Now a callus is forming and I fold the neoprene back to "train" it into place and it seems to be doing the job. There also is some issue with the location of the webbing and the little toe. My wife and I both have a little discomfort there. The edge of the webbing lines up right with the top of the little toe. Besides that they are great sandals/shoes and we love the fact that they are closed toe and hold onto the foot like a shoe.

Very good sandal, some short comings. This is the most versatile sandal that I've ever owned. Comfortable and supportive unlike most sandles. I've run in it, hard running turns are not recommended but much more support than any other sandal I've owned. The key short coming that I've realized is that the sole doesn't seem to have a good traction/grip. As an example I was walking in short, dry grass on a slight incline and slipped. The traction/grip is less than desired I've tested the same surface with my Nike's which don't slip as the Keen H2. The shoe does dry quickly. However, if you have a sweaty foot the rubbery anti-bacterial insole can get a little uncomfortable. I've never experienced this with leather sandal. The insole is more supportive with a bit of an arch which is more than I expected.

Review of Newport H2 - I like the arch support. I walked around Paris for one week as a typical tourist and the shoe felt great.

One mans' opinion - This sandal is well made and good looking. I followed the advice of others and originally ordered a half size bigger(9) than normal(8.5). My little toe snagged on the strap while walking. I told Zappos I needed a size smaller and Zappos speedily sent me a 8.5. The 8.5 does not snag my little toe but they are hard to get on. Once on however I find them a pleasure to wear. This is not the shoe to put on if the house is on fire. For the I think I can find better sandals for my boxy feet. I cannot say enough positive remarks about Zappos. It was a pleasure doing business with them.

love em to death - I live right next to the ocean and am extremely active, so I needed a shoe that could handle both the pounding of a tennis court, and the subsequent dip in the water immediately following. These shoes can handle that and much more. The toe guard is a blessing, the shoes fit snuggly with both width and length, and as a bonus arent quite the ugliest things ive ever laid eyes on. These puppies dry quickly also which is wonderful, no more damp socks and sneakers.

Comfy, great for walking, great summer shoes - This is a fantastic shoe. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because if you get a pebble or dirt in your shoe, it's impossible to get it out without taking the shoe off. 4.9 stars.

Great for wide folks - I wear a new balance 14 EEEE and was told by a friend that these sandals were wide. It's true! I have no problem with the width. In fact, they fit so well, I'd err on cautioning people with narrow feet to think twice before buying the newport H2. These shoes need a little bit of breaking in; they are not super-duper comfortable right out of the box. After a half a dozen wears or so, some of the stiffer areas and "sharp" edges (slight irregularities in the synthetic stitching) worked themselves out nicely. I will probably buy a second pair soon. I prefer these to the leather ones because my feet sweat (and then smell) more in them. Stick with the H2 if you have to same problem.

Love this shoe, but... First of all, Zappos is awesome. I will definitely continue to shop here. Love the extremely fast shipping! These shoes are comfy, and I love the look, but they are really hot. If they could do something about that they would be the perfect sandal.

Keen Newport H2 - The shoes are comfortable and durable. They run about a half size small. The one thing that I don't like about them is that the strap on the left shoe does not match the angle of the strap on the right shoe, at the toe area. I was tempted to send them back for another pair but since I already had to return them once due to size, I am reluctant to send them back again, but probably should.

gcm - Very good shoe for watersport activities (sailing, kayaking) and general warm weather outdor pursuits. Only real complaint is that arch support and general comfort is not as good as the Keen providence shoes I own.

Keen Newport H2 - Very good shoe, the best of the sport sandals I have tried. The toe cover is excellent for my situation. I wear them 10 hours a day on lava rock and around saltwater and they're holding up just fine. I wear a short sock as I have yet to find a sandal that won't stink after time. my only negative for this shoe is the sole could be a bit stiffer but then again this is brutal terrain. I'll be buying another pair soon for a backup. Zappos makes it all so easy.

Super but not for the beach - Overall a very good shoe/sandal, fit was fine and size was my normal size. The problem with a sandal with a toe guard was when walking on the beach the shoe collected sand , I would estimate 3/4 of a cup of sand in each shoe. Also in very hot/humid weather might not be a good choice, although it was ok for me.

Pros & cons - The Keen Newport H2's fit snugly, which makes them great for all kinds of activity. However, they don't exactly slip on and off. You have to really tug to get them on. And if you have tender feet and are used to athletic footwear with socks or looser fitting Merrells, they might chafe. Zappos customer service is excellent.

looking forward to a dream trip in these - Got these for a trip to french polenesia. Wanted something that I could wear in the water and would dry quickly. I got them ahead of time so I could get my feet used to them. 1 thing I found in wearing them is that stuff gets in them and you've got take em off to get it out. Might have been better off with open mesh instead. Feel good to walk in and fit was good for the sizing.

Great sport sandal - They look a little funky, but they have to for their perfect functionality. Bought them for a trip to Cancun. Wore them 5 days straight on the beach on the road, on boats, para sailing, jet skiing, in the hotel, everywhere. Fit like a glove. A little thought to get on and off, and sand collects in the toe, but other than that, they're perfect.

Very Nice, good and bad points that need to be considered... I am a habitual sandal wearer. Birkenstocks or Tevas are what I usually have on and I generally wear them without socks. The Keens, while very comfortable, do not have much airflow. You need socks if your wearing them casually. The H2's synthetic material makes my feet sweat like I was wearing zip lock bags. I'm not sure if I can make these my everyday sandals for that reason.

Great shoes - These shoes were a gift for my father, and he loves them. Now, I have a pair, my mother has a pair, and my father has a pair! They are extremely comfortable! The only downfall we have all found, is that your feet perspire A LOT in them, even though they are airated. Overall though, great shoes.
