This is my 2nd pair of Keen Newport H2. After 6 years I wore out first pair, which is why I ordered a new pair. They seem as good as the first pair that I purchased.

I will follow up this review in a few weeks. So far, so good. Here is an ABSOLUTE must. You MUST order these shoes / sandals 1/2 size larger than you average size. The LL Bean salesperson was very emphatic on this. He was right. Even at 1/2 size bigger I am not sure there are big enough. I'll stay in touch

Bought these for trip to Costa Rica, and they were perfect. Very comfortable and good for transitions from dry to wet to dry, etc. Sand does get stuck (and dries) between your feet and soles; just takes some scrubbing to get it out. The style/appearance takes some getting used to, but is worth the utility of these shoes.

Love how these Keens fit, and I love and need the toe protection. I was surprised, however, at how much they weigh.Once they are on, you don't notice the weight, but I was expecting them to be more in the flip-flop range. The weight does give me an added sense of protection, especially in the rougher terrain near our creek.

I've been walking in the Newport H2's for almost a month now. I want to give it a 5 star rating but Keen fell a wee short with failure in the lacing system. First the good: They are extremely comfortable to walk in, even distances with a light backpack on. First set of sandal/walkers ever I could say that about. Fit my feet snug and so far I've not noticed any rubbing and/or blisters. Unfortunately, as I was pulling the bungee lace to tighten them up, the lace snapped from the top, and there is no way to repair it. I've tied it off to itself so it is still wearable but for a sandal that is supposed to be so rugged, I was disappointed. Hopefully Keen fixes the bungee lacing system so it is stronger at the connection to the plastic grip in future editions because other than that it's a great sandal.

Fit small. Returned and a half size up was great. Used for hiking and beach exploring. Very comfortable and worked well wet or dry.

Good Sandels, not made for hard hiking, had another pair and abused them in Hawaii on a 8 mile hike to beautiful waterfalls.

This is my third pair of Keen's sandals. I live in them. I wore out my black ones and it was just as cheap to replace than repair.

I got these for my husband. He loves them, but he prefers black footwear. It would be nice to see black as a color option.

I bought these shoes for my son. He says, "Other than the small rocks that get into the shoes (which is expected with a sandal-like shoe), these shoes were a great fit and very comfortable. A good shoe for wide feet."

Haven't had these long. For being as open as these are, my feet sweat way more than expected. The foam layer the foot sits on is an interesting choice; I am curious to see how it wears. Very comfortable on long walks on concrete.

I bought them just for hiking. They are so comfortable that I wear them all the time. They hug your feet without causing any blistering. They are a little hard to get on because I have a fat foot but they do seem to be loosening up a bit. Highly recommend them.

These shoes actually fit like a glove, but I think you want a snug fit. My feet are pretty darn close to exact size and a a little wide but these were a great fit and for the activity level this shoe is designed for that's what you want. Easy on/off, comfortable but not quite as airy as I would have liked but, man, are they versatile.

I am on my third pair so obviously am convinced. Spend a lot of time at a lake house in and out of the water a love them - comfortable, great protection for feet, wear well. They are my primary summer footwear. The one thing Keen could improve is the durability of where the strap that goes around ankle joins the rest of the sandal. This is where my Keens have come apart. Still much better than other summer time footwear

I would not recommend if you have wide feet. The shoes look great, and I can feel that the support is fantastic, so if they fit, I'd strongly suggest them. Unfortunately, they didn't come close to fitting, even after trying three different sizes. If they had an option for "felt more than a full size smaller" I'd choose it. I have wide feet, so I know buying a full size larger is often required to get shoes (that don't come in wide) a full size larger. The 10.5 I bought (my size) were so short, my big toe touched the end of the toe box. At 11.5, the shoe finally felt "almost right" in the length department but I could tell it was still too short. In the width department, normally going up a full size makes shoes wide enough to wear. At a full size larger they were still so tight my little toe scraped against the shoe inside. So they may be great for "normal" width feet, but if you're a wide, I would try to find another style (which is virtually impossible in a water shoe).

The shoes fit nicely and are comfortable right away without a breaking-in period. If I'm not wearing socks, I can feel the breeze around my feet as I walk, though they're surprisingly warm when I'm standing or sitting. Visually, they're not super-pretty, but they're substantial enough that most people won't notice they're sandals at first glance when viewed from the front. The material seems durable and the workmanship is of high quality.
They are slightly challenging to put on; I find I have to sort of crawl my foot into them using my toes before there's enough clearance to pull up the rear strap. Not a big deal, just something to get used to.
They're surprisingly heavy, thanks to the thick sole. Heavier than some of my completely-enclosed shoes, more like the weight of small boots. If you're considering these as an extra set of footwear to take on a backpacking trip or a hike, make sure you're prepared for the extra weight.

I'm pleased with this sandal which I purchased specifically for hiking in rivers in Bryce Canyon.
Most reviews cite no break in period; I concur, but I've been wearing them to get used to the feel. They are not as comfortable as my shoes when driving a car, but they have been fine for walking. I look forward to trying them out on uneven terrain.

These are a great cross between sandals and tennis shoes. They are comfortable with plenty of cushioning. I have only purchased Teva's before, but this sandal is just as good.

Awesome all purpose outdoor shoes. I used them hiking, fishing and just walking around. My only issue with them is when they get wet, they tend to stay wet and make your feet stay wet until you take them off and dry them and your feet off, which is not always impractical if you are out and about.

I tried the Keen NewportH2 and the Keen Turia Sandal, as well as a few other brands. The Keen shoes were the finalists. Both were a bit small for the size tso there was a tie on that. The Newport H2 was a relatively tighter fit around the foot and toes. That made it harder to get on and more snug once on the foot. I liked the look of the Keen Newport H2, but preferred the relatively more spacious feel of the Turia.

The stiching came out on the side of the shoe around the Keen logo while we were on vacation. It didn't affect the shoe itself so my husband wore it anyway. I bought the shoes specifically for our vacation to Florida, Disney, etc. He had worn them less than 20 hours total when he noticed the stitching coming unravelled. I returned them but will most likely order another pair, hoping that the poor workmanship was just a fluke. My son and I both have Keens that we wore and had no problem with ours. They were pretty comfortable overall, although they wore blisters on my son's feet after 2 days at Disney World. I thought the fact that you can loosen these came in handy; after walking for hours your feet can get pretty swollen and it was a relief to be able to adjust the tightness.

so far they are very comfortable, look great, well built. I have not taken them canoing yet, but the soles seems like they would perform as one would want to.

Only had these for 1+ weeks, but these sandals were great for several days of hiking in Arches and Canyonlands without the need for break in. Sole has excellent grip. Fully enclosed toe makes these sandals a winner. Minor downside: the material of the shoe bottom tends to make the bottom of your feet sweat - however since the shoes are open and well ventilated and are waterproof so can be dowsed with water occasionally this is not a big issue.

I bought these for my husband. We love Keen because they make many styles in large sizes (14-15). The sizing was the same as other Keen shoes. It did take a little time to wear in the shoes.
