I had a feeling this would happen, but I thought I would follow the fitting guidelines on the website. I did the measure-your-foot-on-the-paper thing, then ordered accordingly. Though the fit guide recommended a size 12, I would need a size 14 to get the right fit.

I have probably bought 5 pairs of Newports and they have been the best.

I got my first pair of Newports around 6 years ago while on vacation in Maine and I haven't taken them off since! They have a roomy toe box, good support in the midsole and are very secure on the feet. The venting, grip and toe protection make them great for water sports. They are also great at work when I'm on my feet for to plus hours. The soles are rigid and grip well enough that I wear these for some rugged hiking and 2 plus hour bike rides. Very durable too. I'd give them 6 stars if I could!

They are the only sandals that are okay to wear with socks. The sandals are comfortable, if you get the right size. They can be used in many situations, like hiking, casual, vacation, and many others. If you want something versatile, and hard working but also comfortable and casual, these are your go to shoes.

Fit was true to size, very comfortable shoe and has a high quality look and feel. the only negatives are the price and the shoe looks clunky for a sandal.

These sandals, while expensive, are very well made with a full arch support
and are terrific for walking.
The only negative would be they are a bit difficult to put on because of the elastic
strap in front where you pull them on.
This shows that you get what you pay for.

These are my third pair of this model in this color over a 10 year period. First pair....wore out the heels. Second pair...ankle pull unraveled after a couple of years. Third pair...just got "em. I wear these things 7 or 8 months out of the year here in northern Nevada....Good Stuff

Keens makes sandals a lot more snug with tight elastic across the arch. Harder to put on so requires 1/2 size up. Fit otherwise good.

I was coming out of a pair of Keens that I had been wearing for 3-4 years and I believe they were 12.5 in size but I ordered the 12 because it didn't seem that 12.5 was available. These certainly grip my foot and feel more like a regular shoe. I think they will be fine with some break-in wear and time but they do feel smaller than the ones I was wearing before.

Stylish, well made, attractive. The one shortcoming is the fixed ankle strap is very tight and difficult to put on. Hopefully, in time, it will loosen. Had it been an adjustable strap, that would have solved the problem. Once on, the shoes are comfortable.

I like the Newport and also the Newport II, but I went with the Rialto II, which can be pricier, but was on sale when I shopped.
Keen customer service (perhaps Zappos too) advised a half size up from my normal size compared with the Kanyon style, which was discontinued.

I purchased these for my husband. His heel comes right to the back of the shoe and probably should have exchanged for half a size larger but we were going on trip so he wanted to keep them. He enjoyed wearing them and said they are comfortable.

Comfortable sandal, the only issue is getting the heel strap over heel when putting it on, but it stretches, so I may just need to get used to it. Still love the hard rubber toe guard Keen offers on this and other styles. Overall my goto sandal. I will purchase Keen in the future.

This is my third pair of Keens, but only my first pair of Newports. My first two pairs were H2s. I switched to Newports based on reports that the leather uppers hold up better over time than the H2s' synthetic ones, especially at the back of the ankle, where the leather upper meets the rubber sole. I've worn Keens for 12 years, and discovered that I don't need the quick-drying feature of the H2s, but do need the (supposedly) sturdier construction of the Newports. It is far too soon to tell whether the Newports will hold up better over time than the H2s (I had to have both pairs of H2s repaired / reinforced in order to prolong their life). In terms of fit, I do believe the fitting advice that Keens run a half-size small to be true. The H2s I bought were size 12, and I am a true 12, meaning it took a while for me to break in /stretch my H2s (could this have contributed to the need for repair / reinforcement?). I would have liked a size 12 1/2, but Keen doesn't make half-sizes above 12, so when I bought these Newports, I went with a size 13. Predictably, my Newports feel a bit big on my feet, slightly "clown shoe" big on my toes; again, time will tell whether this is a problem. Living in Chicago, I will need to wait a few more weeks (it's early April now) before I can wear Keens all day, and really begin to assess this latest purchase. I do wish Keens manufactured the Newports in a wider range of colors, as they do with the H2s (which, I understand, are a more popular seller than the Newports).

Comfortable with modest but not good arch support. The back strap was uncomfortable because it was rather high and rubbed the area under my ankle bone, so I returned it rather than risk a blister while walking.

I like these. I bought size 15. The only width available is "D." I have narrow feet and was worried that these would be too wide. I find that if I wear crew socks, the fit is just fine, so long as I pull the elastic tight. So, yes, I can wear Keen sandals. They grip the deck and the dock. They are easy to get on and off. For some uses, such as going from my boat to the showers at the marina, I will not wear socks with them. That said, Mr. and Ms. Keen should think about making shoes for narrow feet. And, hey all you active boaters out there -- classic "boat shoes" look nice at the yacht club, but when you clamber around the deck, they can slip off into the water. They sink in a hurry. 'Nuff said.
I'd also recommend:

Order a half-size larger than what you normally wear. Nice looking and very comfortable.

I just bought these last week....I've worn them around the house to see if they fit, as online reviews said to get a 1/2 size larger than you ordinarily would get. I did that, and the length seems fine. However, I have a narrow foot, and these only come in a wide width. I can get the sandal tight enough to hold part of my foot firmly, but the heel and the toe box have my feet moving around much more than I'd like. They seem like good quality, but that's a hefty price tag for water sandals.

I bought the next size up since the reviews said these run small, but even with the larger size these shoes were narrow and rubbed blisters on my husband's toes the first few times he wore them. They are taking some time to stretch in width. Otherwise, they seem like well made shoes. Time will tell if they hold up to the daily wear they will get in the jungle in Panama where he spends most of the year at our field station. The LLBean sandals of similar design didn't last 6 months.

Finally broke down and bought a pair of these sandals after a friend told me how much he liked his. I have found these to be very comfortable and well constructed except for the little loops, which are not sewn on very well. Overall I would recommend them to a friend as a great shoe, even for the higher price for a sandal.

So glad to find a pair of men's shoes short enough for my foot ... a woman's foot that needs some room. These shoes are just perfect for a casual day anywhere.

This will be the second pair of these I have owned. My original pair lasted well over 6 years...and were quite worn out!
These are comfortable sandals that you do not have to worry about getting wet. I also like that your TOES are protected. Many sport sandals prior to KEEN did not protect your Toes. If you ever tried to run in sandals, you really appreciate the protection!
I like the styling, fit and the Price (on Sale) for $66 was awesome!
I can Highly Rate these for:
Walking
Daily Wear
Water Activities such as Kayaking etc....
Hey...Wear Socks with them if you want to.... ;)
Buy a Pair, you wont regret it.
