OK sandal -
This sandal is OK but not great. The straps are very rough. I'm wearing it but only until I find a sandal with softer straps and/or better strap padding. Very "little old lady" looking but good for wide feet.

Summer sandals -
These sandals are very light and fit well over my feet because of the ability to customize with the straps. This makes them easy to adjust and fit around my bunion. My biggest disappointment is that they are so very flat. I probably will not use them for walking which was what I had hoped to do. I wish they had a decent footbed for arch support. I am very delighted and impressed with the prompt and courteous service of Zappos and will be buying from you again.

A little disappointed -
I have always had a pleasant experience with Clark's Sunbeat shoes. However, I was somewhat disappointed with this last pair. The right shoe felt tighter than the left one and it bunches up my socks. This is not Zappos' fault, however, but the maker. Zappos service is great and they have a very quick delivery

Not what they used to be!!
I truly wish people would learn that those of us who purchase this product are not looking for bargains. For bargains, I could go to Walmart! No, we are looking for comfort, appearance and durability. But COMFORT IS OF PRIME IMPORTANCE. I believe the price of about $65.00 is the same I paid for the pair I bought 15 years ago. That surprised me as I certainly expected a higher price. That should have tipped me off. No, the shoe is not what it used to be. It fits OK, but I find it needs "breaking in". The leather upper is not as soft, rather stiff actually. The sole is definitely not nearly as springy (I have a bad back!) and that is a real disappointment. The strap behind the heel, the sling-back, is no longer adjustable. If you have a small heel, the strap is too loose, and that is not comfortable. I am sorry I do not have a better review, but you asked for the truth. I would glady pay $95.00 for the shoe, even up to $125.00, willingly and happily, if I could have the quality I had before. Sincerely, Barbara N.

That is the sad part. I know of no alternatives. Do you? Would you enlighten me?

Soles -
I love the shoe and its comfort, but the soles have to be reglued on every pair I have bought for the last 2 or 3 years.

Poor quality leather -
I have been wearing "sunbeat" for years the quality of the leather has declined. It is no longer a quality leather... I almost thought Zappos had "Clark" make a lesser quality to increase profits on the classic style...I am hoping when I find these is a retail store they will be the same inferior leather.

I fell down on the senior retirement homes' dining room carpet this afternoon. The old-style pebbly soles didn't have this problem, but the newer 2-swirl style with oval indented lines on sole and heel have smooth rubber at the toe tips. This is dangerous, and I have almost fallen several times. The newest pair goes into the garbage, and since the current Sunbeat models all have this problem that means I can't buy any more of them, though I have used them for years.

I bought a shoe very similar in looks in Europe - the only difference being the sling-back, which on mine is adjustable. I have a very narrow heel and when I adjust to it my whole foot slides forward. So the problem is the fit on the heel. Otherwise I'm sure it would be fine. I wore Clarks shoes 55 yrs ago in the UK, but then I didn't have to be fussy about comfort.

Ok, but not great -
Not nearly as comfortable as lookalike brand SAS. Price is more reasonable. Would probably not purchase again because even though SAS is $25 higher in price the comfort was worth it

Sunbeat -
I owned several pairs of these sandals and have worn this shoe for over 15 years. Last year I replaced several pairs because they were worn out. Although I still wear them in the garden. The month of July I had 4 pairs that the soles just disintegrated! All of them were bought last summer. What is going on?

Shoe really has no width, so didn't fit snugly. Also, the shoe has no heel adjustment in the strap which doesn't make for a good fit.

I have worn and loved these sandals for at least 10 years, usually buying a pair or two every spring. With my long and somewhat narrow feet they were the only ones I could adjust to be really comfortable even though they only came in medium. Unfortunately, sometime before I got my black Nubuck Sunbeat last year, Clarks saw fit to remove the ankle strap buckle which had given it more adjustability---probably to save a few cents. I still got by with them but this year the pair I received is a different animal altogether (maybe literally). The straps are much stiffer and somewhat wider and there are little differences here and there that now make these very uncomfortable, particularly across the top of my feet. I got out my pair from last year and also 4 other pairs, older and in different colors.
As for Zappos, they are the best source for shoes and excellent service ever!! L.T. Chicago

Nubuck suede should be soft, the suede on these shoes is hard and cuts into my foot. And because of this it is impossible to adjust the straps. They are a big disappointment. SAS has the same style sandal but of a much higher quality, you should carry them on this website.

Think twice -
This used to be my year-round staple, but the company was sold and the quality has declined. The sole split (a common problem with this shoe) after only three months of wear on the most recent pair that I purchased. Try another company.

I had a problem -
I have had two pairs of this shoe and on both the soles split. I have never had this happen before. Perhaps you can explain this. I hesitate to buy Clarks shoes now.

Dissapointed in sole -
I have a pair of the Clarks Sunbeat Sandals and the sole on both shoes has split across the bottom and the upper is just like new. Can anything be done about this?

Love Zappos' service and like the way these sandals look, but they are too flimsy for me. Just returned them. No arch support and it feels like the shoe is barely supporting your feet on the sides. It doesn't appear to offer much of a buffer between you and the pavement. Just ordered Fly Flots' "Dana" to replace my return.

Used to be good but isn't anymore -
This sandal used to be my favorite shoe. I wore it in many colors and they lasted long and were wonderful and comfortable. But in the last two years every pair I have bought has self destructed. In two pairs the bottom rubber just crumbled. I sent one back and got a replacement. But the replacement had a problem with the sole that touches your foot. It got wet one day when rain started and my foot made a deep imprint which never went away. In between the toes and the ball of my foot was a deep groove that gave me a blister and I had to throw them out. I got less than a month out of those. I bought another pair and the very same thing happened and I didn't even get them wet. I think something changed. I used to love these shoes and now they are a waste of money and I'm pretty unhappy about that. I don't know what to buy now. I hear they have changed the design of this shoe but I'm loath to spend another $65 trying.

Clarks just don't fit my feet -
I bought these for a trip to Paris where we would be doing a lot of walking, even thought this is a very dowdy shoe, and no one under 90 should wear it. From the house to the airport, the shoes rubbed bloody places on my feet, even on the sole! I tried a different style, but had the same problem. They are just not right for my feet. The heels are quite large compared to the toe.
On the other hand, the foot beds are beautifully cushy, enough so that I will try a mule to see if I can find a style that suits my feet and my style.

Make the new ones like the old ones -
I have clark's from many years ago and loved them. They were made in England. The new ones are made, I think, in Sri Lanka and do not fit in the same way--the straps are much thicker and widerand the heel strap is in the wrong place. Please make them like you used to. I need them as they are the only sandal that fits comfortably and in which I can walk long distances. Please also make them in black leather again. I don't like the nubuck.

Clarks are great, just not this one.
I made a mistake by ordering this shoe in patent leather. I don't like the look. I have this shoe in every other color, but this patent leather is just not me.

Why didn't they stay in England??
I have a pair of this same model that I purchased several years ago and was so pleased to find that they still had that same model. But when I got them at home and out of the box, I was amazed and disappointed to see that they were manufactured in Slovenia and were not nearly the same quality of construction or material as my old pair that had been manufactured in England. Needless to say, I am returning them today.
