Necessary style - Since bunion surgery 2 1/2 yrs ago, all I can wear is New Balance. Me who never thought I'd wear tennis shoes to work! They fit my feet and allow me to get through the day in less pain than others I tried. I got my first pair at the NB store in the area and have found them on Zappo ever since -- same quality, lower price.

Very comforable! This shoe is the most comforable walking shoe I have ever worn. Although it makes my foot look longer and skinner than my foot really is, the shoe color and style was just what i was looking for. Also, I am proud to sport around in a shoe that was made in the USA.

New Balance WW 811 - This shoe fits well, is not too awfully ugly, and I like the fact that it is vegetarian-friendly. However, the soles are not as slip resistant as I'd like, being in the restaurant business, and the tongue on one shoe keeps getting twisted. I still like it.

Repeat Buyer - I actually ordered 2 pair of these for my mom just because she doesn't like the internet. She had these before and wore them out. She needs shoes that can fit her arch supports and that come in narrow and these do both. She says they are very comfortable and she does a lot of walking.

Recent purchase - I have been buying your shoes for about a year. I previously had bought some 810s, but they seem to be no longer available. My problem is the orthopedic inlays, which I need to put in shoes to make my walking less painful. These shoes are fine, they just wear out quickly. If you don't really 'walk' in them (no walking in fields, no walking around the track in the gym) just house-car, a bit of shopping, they are fine. the bottom support breaks easily on uneven ground, and the soles walk down fairly quickly when used for walking (as in exercise walking).

I found the New Balance WW811 to be overall comfortable, the only small complaint is the heel area does tend to want to slide a little.

Good Walkers -

Sally - walker in Ohio - I've had many compliments on the looks of these shoes. My husband thinks they are the best. I'm hard to fit and these come close to the top but my feet get hot in them if I wear them all day. I have to wear compression hose because of blood clots in my legs. I would like a bit more support in my arch area. I have some discomfort on the bottom of the heel if I don't wear socks with the compression hose when I'm wearing them all day. They tend to be a little bulky compared to other walking shoes I've worn but cannot locate these other brands at this time.

#811 - I wanted a New Balance shoe with the rollbar feature-one that was not so athletic-looking. I have to have a shoe that has room for a full-length arch support. I have a problem with this shoe in that the heel feels like it slips a little. I also have a problem with keeping the tongue straight-it tends to move to the outer edge of the shoe after I wear it awhile. I would probably buy this shoe again.

Great Walker - I had PF surgery last June and was looking for a walking sneaker with good arch support since I walk 3-4 miles a day. I wear a size 11 and these fit perfectly. A few of the other NB sneakers I had ordered were a bit tight in length and width and I had to return them. The rounded toe on the 811, while not very attractive, makes for a great fit. Pretty good shoe - Not too bad looking, for a heavy walking shoe, and fit my motion-control insole with room to spare...if anything, the shoe was a little TOO roomy! I wear size 11, with a slightly wide foot that sometimes needs a wider shoe, and this one was plenty wide. My one real complaint was the weight...after wearing the shoe on hard cement floors all day, all the tendons in my foot were singing with pain (not an uncommon occurrence). I think I'll try a lighter running shoe next...I have better luck with those, in men's 9 1/2D.

New Balance's WW 811 - The shoe is pretty much what I expected- good arch support and comfort. However, I've found that New Balance shoes run a bit wide. I order narrow, but these shoes seem to be wider than other narrow walking shoes, especially in the toe area. But, it's comfortable, firm-feeling walking shoe.

I have a lot of difficulty finding comfortable shoes due to my having no metatarsal padding and many foot surgeries, etc. This shoe is so wide, even in the narrow width, I have to put several insoles in besides my usual thick, soft orthotics. I would prefer it were leather with a very 'cushy' insole. School is still out on whether or not I will keep them, or continue my search via Zappos. They have made my shopping for comfortable shoes a very rewarding experience. They are MOST accommodating and efficient, have a great website and their delivery and return service is second to none!! And, I have to agree with what others have said recently about the lack of consistency of sizing in New Balance shoes. Makes shopping for them a real challenge!

Great shoe - Great shoe for tired feet! They feel better the more I wear them. I have wide feet and the medium width is just fine for me. Very sturdy and attractive.

Undecided - I think leather would have been a better choice as it gives more than man-made material. Also, I ordered the E2 and E4 widths - guess what- they are the SAME width (I measured the inside). In fact, when I took the innersole out and turned it over it was marked 8.5 2E/4E, that really irritates me.

First time buyer - I do like the New Balance 811 shoe very much. I have a lot of trouble with my left foot tipping inward but I find in this shoe they do not. I walk very straight with this shoe. I tried them because my sister has the same problem and she tried them (bought them at a shoe store) and she told me about them and I purchased them and like them. The only thing I would like a little better in them is a better arch. I have to comment on my dealings with Zappos. They are very fast, there is no waiting around with their speedy delivery. I just ordered another pair of shoes the other day and I can't wait to get them. Thanks Zappos.

Good fit not confortable - The shoe was comfortable except for the inside where the tongue was sewed in. Left too much material that hurt my feet. Will be sending them back. I also bought a pair of the new balance 574 which is more confortable all the way around. I will be keeping the 574.

Comfortable - These shoes were comfortable out of the box. I had one problem with the plastic strip down the middle of the sole - I slipped on it in a restaurant, but its seems ok now. I wear them every day to and from work. They are not great looking---the toe box is kinda clunky looking.

Comfort rating for New balance WW 811 - I bought a wide width because I have bunions. I was concerned that even the wide width wouldn't be wide enough, but they were. Thank goodness! My only complaint is that there needs to be more padding on the inside of the shoe in the heel and toe areas. They feel too hard on the bottom of your foot. More padding would make them perfect. They are not stylist. They good like bus driver shoes, but I'm still glad that I ordered them. Thanks for carrying wide widths.

Very Comfortable - This shoe needed no "breaking in" period. It's a sturdy walking shoe. The only problem I have with it is that I have a wide foot and narrow heel, and have trouble with all walking shoes (stepping out of them slightly). This was my first Zappos order and I'm thrilled to find an online shoe source that ships quickly to my overseas posting in Italy.

Comfortable walking shoe for people with bunions - I have bunions and therefore need a wider shoe in the front, but not in the back. This was very comfortable and I was still able to cinch the laces tight enough at the top to make a snug fit. It is the most comfortable walking shoe I have worn in a long time!

These used to be the best walking shoes. I have been buying this style since 2003. Lately, though everything is downsized like the rest of the country. The pad is not sturdy in the heel section and the padding gets thinner with each new pair through the years. Wide foot no other choice. They should go back to more padding and stronger platform. Could offer more colors. I'm sick of white and black only. Zappos, however is always great. Delivery is great. Next day or two. Thanks guys.

I ordered these shoes because the doctor said that I needed motion control for my plantar fasciitis. I ordered the wide for my thick, wide foot and have too much room. I guess that is to accomodate additional orthotics. They are okay for around the house, but did not do well after all day wear. Even with my orthotic insole, my foot was in agony by the end of the day. I\'m going to try another New Balance shoe that has better cushioning instead.
