Immensely comfortable. I am used to wearing a 2E New Balance running shoe for the last 2-3 years, and I chose this type with its flat bottom, and it's immensely comfortable. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase.

587 American and Synthetic - I love the 587 and have been wearing them for several years. They have great control of foot roll and are designed for the "Clydesdale" runner. It is one of the only shoes for me with my height of 6'6" and being over 300 lbs. I also love the fact that they are made in the USA and are leather free. There are other options from NB, but they cost more so in the ratio of cost vs. usability, this one is tops!

Great Shoes. These shoes are really excellent for heavier runners or for those that need stability. I have purchased twenty or more pairs over the years and have never been disappointed with the quality. I do recommend getting cushioned inserts. The combination is unbeatable.

I'm in an airborne unit in the Army, which means we run a lot and I have to say these are the most comfortable running shoes I have purchased!!! I am a loyal New Balance customer these shoes do them justice.

Another good one - I love this shoe. I only wish they would make this shoe in a more neutral color. Very good shoe though and the performance blows the style issues out of the water.

Still one of the better shoes - This is my 6th or 7th times for buying this model from New Balance. It’s a great shoe if you want a lot of shock absorbency. When this shoe has broken down, to where I no longer use it to work out in I is a great shoe to work in the yard and garden in place of my leather work boots. I find a tough shoe to fit my feet but I have a difficult time fitting shoes to start with.

Great support and service - Big New Balance and Zappos fan... this is my fourth pair of these shoes and their forerunners. They really aren't very attractive, but I don't buy 'em for their looks! I'm a longtime PF sufferer and have to have cushioning and support in all shoes, particularly those in which I'll do the majority of my exercise walking. These fill the bill very well---light and breathable enough to be comfortable, yet supportive (thank you, Rollbar!) and deep enough to accommodate an orthotic, which is a MUST. Oh, and did I mention the fit? If you have a wide foot, as I do, this shoe and other New Balance shoes made in the USA on the SL-2 last are an absolute godsend!

THE shoe for overpronators! My son had a growth spurt and grew 9 inches in one year and went from size 10.5 shoes to size 15. Because of this growth he had terrible foot pain and we later found out that his arches had collapsed. He will have to wear specially made orthotics from now on. Finding a durable shoe that is designed for his needs in his size was impossible locally. I was thrilled to find this wonderful shoe that provides great stability, strong support, comfort, AND looks good to a 16-year-old young man! The true test came in band camp a week after purchasing the shoes. He wore them everyday, 10 hours a day, standing and practicing and came home saying his feet felt great. Wonderful news for a worried mom!!!

Birthday gift for husband - I placed my order at 12 noon one day, and they arrived on my doorstep at 3pm the next day!! How do you do that? He has worn them several times and says everything is great about them. I had to get him out of plain white, as he is not a tennis player anymore. They go with all his casual styles, and hope they will look good in FL at the end of the month. Thanks for getting it right for both of us. Not sure if an orthotic would fit or not.

Zappos is an excellent company - I've bought 3 pairs of this shoe and the shoe fits fine, looks great, lasts a long time and Zappos delivers extremely fast. I recommend this shoe and Zappos.

NB M587 - I love these shoes. I am a big guy about 260 pounds with flat feet and 2 ankles that have both been fractured and sprained. Finding shoes to support my ankles and be comfortable on flat feet is a chore, throw in hiking 8 to 10 miles a day into the mix and its almost impossible. That is until I did a search for shoes for people with flat feet. The New Balance model 587 came up at the top of the list. I have nothing but praise for the designers of this foot wear. The support and comfort are outstanding. The shoe has unusual feature in the instep area. The sole is straight instead of concave, giving extra rigidity to the arch area. As a bonus these shoes come in wide widths. I am planning on stocking up several more pairs of these just in case the line is ever discontinued.

My husband has bought these shoes for over 10 years. He loves the support, look and quality of this shoe. If you have foot problems like no arch, these are the shoes for you...They fit true to size in every way, and well worth every penny.

Great Shoe - I've had 901's for almost 5 years now (a different pair each year), so I needed a change, and I bought these M587's. They’re great! They provide much more rollover support than the 901's, and they feel much more stable. And since I ordered from Zappos I was able to get the size that fits. (I wear a 2E width which is normally not carried in department stores.) Great shoes! Great experience!

New Balance M587 - I live in the mountains in a 3 story home. Lots of stairs and up and down hill walking. I have always worn men's shoes probably from playing sports the first 1/2 of my life. I have flat feet, heel spurs, and plantar fasciitis. When I received my shoes (a day after I ordered them), I immediately laced them up and tried them on. They feel 1/2 size too large, but they were so comfortable I didn't want to send them back! I am very pleased with the feel and the speed in which I received my shoes. I will most assuredly order from Zappos again! Oh... by the way, these are the greatest feeling shoes I've ever owned!
