Serious protection - This is the boot you want to be wearing in the snow.

Sorel's caribou is a good boot! The boot is exactly what I expected...it is warm and keeps my feet dry. The only thing is that they are a little bit clunky, and it does take some time to get used to walking in them!

Sorel Caribou - Love this boot! I bought it for myself last year and I loved them so much that I bought them for my daughter this year. We had to return them several times to get the right size, but that's just the nature of on-line ordering and we didn't mind a bit. Besides this company is so gracious and timely that it is not an inconvenience at all.

A Classic- This is a wide shoe with no arch support, and after wearing a pair that was too big for years, I just bought the 1/2 size smaller than my foot (full sizes only) but my toe touched the littlest bit on my bigger foot. I solved this by inserting the most minimal arch support I could find at the local drugstore and they fit well. I don't usually recommend shoes that need to be fiddled with but this is a workhorse that will be great for years to come- the tan is classic.

Boots made for Colorado - I received my boots a day before I was told I would, so that is the first plus. These are the warmest most comfortable boots I've ever owned perfect for snowshoeing and snowmobiling in the mountains of Colorado. I can't wait for the winter to get here so I can break my new ones in. BLACK this time and they are so cool.

Super warm & dry - These boots kept my feet warm and dry even with lots of walking/hiking. They were kind of like wearing ski boots because they don't flex much around the ankle, but they didn't cause blisters, even the first day. Usually when I get sweaty my feet get cold, and these boots wicked away the moisture, keeping me toasty warm.

Very durable boots - These boots fit larger than marked. I am a size 9 to 9.5, and the size 9 boot was generously sized so I could wear medium to thick socks. These boots provide lots of coverage and warmth; however, they are bit awkward to walk in. THey are very well made, and I was impressed with the replacable liner.

The good thing: they kept my feet warm. The bad things: they were extremely heavy; made for a much bigger/thicker foot (man's?) - avoid it if you have a slim build. I had no flexibility in my ankle to be able to drive with them on, or walk comfortably/safely. They seem like boots made for a moonwalk. I returned them.

Sorel Caribou in Black - I wear a 7 1/2 and ordered a 7 and they still feel a little big. These are the best boots for deep snow and big puddles. My feet stay so nice and dry! I love the black color since they go with everything. The only thing I hate about this boot and no one else has mentioned is that they smell horrible! I noticed the smell immediately when I opened the shoe box. The rubber has such a strong fishy odor. I keep hoping it will go away soon. If not, I'm seriously going to spray them with something.

They look like boats on your feet, but they are comfortable. They should be able to keep me warm in the winter. They aren't as heavy as I thought they'd be, so that was a pleasent surprise. About the size: They run a little large, but I normally wear a size 7, and bought a size 7. I have room for thick socks, and for my toes to move, which will help keep my blood flowing, keeping my feet warm. I really wanted the bark, but they were out in my size. Ah well.

I got these just in time for a big snow storm and was SO glad to have them. I stepped into the atlantic ocean when it was parcially frozen and didn't feel a drop of moisture inside my boots! The are they best! I am a 7 to 7 1/2 and I got a 7 - they fit big, because when you are cold you shouldn't wear tight things.

I was looking for a boot that could withstand sub-zero temperatures and this was it. I took these on a ski trip to Vermont and wore them with thick wool ski socks. They definitely feel a size larger, but are just right with thick socks. I always have cold fingers and toes (even in Florida) and my feet were cozy the entire time in these boots. They are also very comfortable and form fitting, not rigid like others I had tried. I am very pleased and am eager to get back up north!

Best Winter Boot EVER - I absolutely adore this boot. I just moved to Ithaca, NY from South Florida so this first blizzard of 2005 was truly a learning experience. These shoes are so comfortable and super warm. I never slip on the black ice in the parking lots and huge snowbanks are never a problem. I'd recommend them to anyone!

GREAT BOOT BUT SO BULKY - These boots were waterproof and warm, but bulkier than I expected. I live in an area with a moderate amount of snow, nothing too extreme. I wanted something that would protect me from the environment and keep me from slipping, which they did. And yes, they're very comfortable and stylish. The only drawback was they were BULKY. If you want an everyday boot that doesn't make you look like you're scaling a mountain, then don't buy these because they're a bit too much, at least for my region. I would suggest the Timberland Canards - I purchased those as well. They were small and lightweight. They are a half size larger than marked.

Very warm, and cute, but too big looking. When I received these boots in the mail and opened the box, I thought they were my boyfriends boots instead! They're cute, comfy and warm, but are too bulky. The removable insert inside is very warm and comfortable, however, it causes the boot to appear (and feel) too big.

Warm but Wide - These shoes are really comfy and heavy duty. I normally wear a 6 1/2. I took the advice of other reviewers and ordered a 6 instead of a 7. They are just barely too small in the toes--so they do run long, but they are too wide for me and I know if I got a 7 they would just be huge. Bottom line--don't buy if you have narrow feet.

Sorel Caribou boots - These were the biggest and ugliest boots of the three pairs that I ordered, and I have to say that they look like boats on my feet, but they are comfortable and warm and during the recent blizzard in NYC this past weekend, they were the perfect boots to have to plow through the drifts. I'm thinking of ordering them in another color as well. In terms of the ease of ordering, the speed of the shipment, and the ease of returns (including printing out UPS labels), you can't beat Zappos!

Very comfortable and kept my feet completely dry for New York's first snowstorm of 2005.

Caribou-Great Boot - This boot was my first order from Zappos and I was not disappointed. Their service and shipping was exceptional. The boot is wonderful. Very toasty and they keep my feet dry. They are a bit heavy, but I did get used to that within a couple days. I love the idea of having a boot with a replaceable liner. Overall, excellent boot for the money.

These boots ROCK!!! I like the way hold on to your ankles and keep them warm. My toes were warm and they don't look huge on my feet.

A great snow shoe - Not only did these boots keep my feet warm and dry after a big snowstorm recently, but the soles gave me a pretty good grip so that I didn't slip or fall a single time when shoveling my driveway. Plenty of toe room. They are quite roomy when wearing medium weight socks. I really like them.

Very Pleased - I am a 7 1/2 and ordered an 8. I found it to be way to big! I exchanged it for a 7 and am much happier! I was most ecstatic to find that the return/exchange process was very accommodating! Customer service sent out the size 7 before I was able to return the original order!! I cannot wait to frolic in the snow in these great (but somewhat clunky) snow boots! I will definitely make Zappos my first stop in shopping!

great - I decided not to buy these online because nothing beats actually going to a store and trying on a boot. They are really warm and soft inside. And they're not heavy at all. I thought they might be too short but when you put them on they are great. I don't want to take them off and can't wait until it snows or rains really hard.

Amazing! All I can say is, good job Zappos! Wonderful customer service, quick shipments, and great selections! These boots fit real comfortable on my foot. I'm normally a 7/1/2 or I can sometimes pass for a 7, so I decided to go up a size and the boots fit perfect. The boot leaves room for thick socks for the winter months. The boots are really warm and waterproof so you don't have to worry about the snow. To be honest, I'm an enormous girly-girl, but when it comes to the winter, I'd rather be warm and have my feet protected then worry about what the fashionistas wearing their $150 Uggs have to say when they see these boots. I highly recommend them for anybody who wants a real winter boot.

Super Warm But Order Smaller - This boot is exactly what was wanted and expected. The leather upper is soft but sturdy. The tread is awesome and rugged. The wool at the top is perfectly soft and cozy. BUT I usually wear a 7 in almost all shoes and THIS 7 feels big. If you are going to wear this with thick socks (which you probably don't need to) then order your size and you will still be comfortable. BUT if you are going to wear with standard thickness socks (ie. cotton athletic socks) order down a half size.
