I like these boots, they are warm and comfy but a bit on the heavy side. My biggest issue is that when I take my foot out, the inner lining comes with it. I have to do a weird twisting thing to get my foot out and leave the lining in. Hope that that will fix itself overtime as I break them in a little.

These boots do run big! I ordered a 10 which is my normal shoe size but a 9.5 probably would have been better. When I first opened the box I thought they sent me men's boots! These boots are very big and heavy. They are warm which I really like I just wish I would have known they were so manly looking I would have picked a different style. If I hadn't paid shipping to me and have to pay return shipping I would return for a different more feminine style.

I was disappointed. I have a pair of Sorels snow boots from the mid 90s and was getting another pair. The bottoms is not rubber like it used to be. I made home visits in the country and city in my old boots and never had a problem with traction. I know the brand was purchased by Columbia and maybe this is why the quality has gone down. Disappointed, it was my go to brand.

I loved my old Sorels I wore in college in MT. Twenty years later, living in ME, I was ready for a new pair. I generally fluctuate between a 9 and a 9.5 shoe size. I tried a size 9 at Cabelas (hunting store) and surprisingly, they were way too short in the length and did not have a 9.5 in stock. Figuring the 9.5 would be perfect, I ordered online. The weekend the boots arrived, we were hit with a big snow storm. Initially, they felt great, but after wearing them 3 times in the snow, the wool liner spread more deeply into the boot and I realized I am swimming in them!!! They feel like a 10.5. I am so disappointed. I spent $175 for these boots that are way too big and since I have worn them, I can't return them.

Although my daughter was so excited and thrilled to receive these beautiful boots for Christmas, she had difficulty getting them on and off. The warm insert always came out when she removed her foot, and there is not enough width room to open the boot big enough slip them on. Love the look and the warmth, but she is not happy with the inconvenience.

These boots did not come in half sizes--they should. Full size was either too small or too big. Also, very hard to get on your foot especially if you have a high instep. And the company doesn't pay to ship returns so it's an expensive gamble to buy online. I was very disappointed and would not shop through this company again.

The price of caribou is so expensive that you think it's well made and not at all what you get. It lacks comfort. It's not a great design as shown in picture.

I ordered a half size down and the boots fit well that way. The boots are VERY chunky looking. I ordered a size 9 and they make my feet look like large men's feet. I probably should have returned them, but didn't want to deal with it. They do keep your feet very warm and are a good boot for intense snow/cold. I will probably only wear them in extreme weather, due to their cumbersomeness. Otherwise, they are a well made boot.

I have an old pair of Caribous with the PAC felt liner. The new pair of Caribous have a tighter liner, which comes out of the boot every time I take it off. I swapped the new liner with the old. Buyer beware: the new liners are fully closed with a lycra swatch running down the middle. They are very tight and don't allow you to slip in and out of the boot with ease.

I love the grey color and these boots would certainly keep my feet toasty--- but I think I have to return them. They are literally the heaviest boots I've ever worn. I don't have much experience with snow boots though so perhaps I am just not used to the heaviness. I can't imagine really walking any distance in these though. Maybe directly to my car. They are 2 pounds... I'm going to search for something lighter. Looking down at them they look absolutely massive. But--- I think they would be really great if you're somewhere really cold and not walking far.

As many other reviewers say, these boots run big. I wear a size 5 and these feel like a 6. They are very heavy, but I imagine they will stand up well to snow once we get a sufficient amount to tempt me out in them.

I've had my eye on these boots for a while. I was saving up money until I could afford them, but unfortunately, I was disappointed with my purchase. Although these boots are VERY well made, super soft, and seemed very durable for a harsh Michigan winter, they were very heavy, clunky, and tight around the calf! Looking at the picture, it's hard to tell exactly how oversized these puppies are in real life. I felt like I was wearing my dad's winter boots! Walking around in my room it felt like I was wearing three pound weights on each foot, which made walking a bit awkward. Not to mention they were extremely tight in the opening because of the liner. The liner was about suctioned to my bare calf, I couldn't even imagine getting a pair of leggings or even jeans inside of these suckers, so I was pretty disappointed! By no means am I a bigger girl either, 5'7 & 140 pounds, so I feel like this problem must be common. I considered swapping out the liner for a larger sized one, but the clonkiness of this boot was just a problem that I couldn't fix. Don't get me wrong, they are a beautiful, incredibly soft, and well made boot. It was unfortunate I had to return them. I was looking for a cute, durable boot to get me through late fall to the end of winter, but these boots are the type you put on when a blizzard hits, considering the overwhelming sturdiness and bulk they have. Not too much versatility. I ordered a pair of the Sorel Joan of Arctic after this, I hope I'll have better luck!

I have been coveting my neighbor's boots for a while (& she LOVES hers), so I finally ordered my own. I ordered the gray ones and they look fantastic. My two complaints are 1)The liner is not attached to the boot and I couldn't get my foot in at first. I ended up pulling the liner out, putting my foot into it, THEN inserting it into boot (cumbersome). The actual boot is huge, but the liner fits like a glove. 2) Once I walked around in the boot, the right outer boot began to cut into my ankle. It is probably unique to this boot because of the interior waterproofing and will hopefully loosen up in time as they are worn in. I have a textbook sized 9 foot--not wide, not narrow, just right. I am not returning them because I got them on sale & I've already paid for shipping one way. I am replacing an ancient pair of Columbia boots, which have attached Sherpa liners.

These shoes are great quality and will definitely keep all weather out. However, the shoes are much clunkier than they appear in the picture, i.e. there is a lot of rubber on the bottom, more than it looks like there is. So much so that it effected my walking, I had to return them.

I wish I had carefully read the reviews about the fit before I purchased these boots. They are super cute and high quality, but way too chunky, heavy and big. I'm a 6.5, but I regularly have to buy a 7 when companies don't carry half sizes. I unfortunately went with the size 7 as usual and I truly regret this now. The boots come with a separate felt boot inside which is smaller and gave me the false impression that the 7 was the right size. However, the lining stretches eventually. Bottom line, after one use my feet were swimming inside and there was no returning at this point. It's very hard to walk with ill-fitted boots that weigh 1 lb each. Not to mention I have to wear them with thick socks which makes my feet sweat and is completely unnecessary since the boots are made for -40F. That's a real shame. On the positive side, the boots are very cute, warm and extremely well made. My previous Sorel snow boots lasted 8 years of heavy use and I expect these to last as long.

So, I'm really sad because I absolutely love the way these boots look. I ordered them in slate because they would basically go with anything. I ordered these in a 9 and found that they were HUGE. I usually wear a perfect 9.5, so it made me wonder if these were really mens sizes. I tried my luck on ordering an 8, but they were much too small. HALF SIZES, PLEASE SOREL?! I'm devastated, but these are going back.

I ordered a pair of Sorels because I needed something warm and waterproof with good traction. This boot is all of those things. Just wish these came in half sizes. SIZE - I usually wear a 9 or 9.5 (usually a 9.5 due to added width). These boots only come in whole sizes so I ordered a 10. At first I felt like they were way too big. With thick enough socks they fit better, but the boots are so warm needing thick socks isn't really a concern. - The width is great, and the arch actually hits my arch (something I always have trouble with), but they are at least a half inch too long. - If the boots stretch too much they really will be too big. Might need to find a different pair next year. - I have large calves and usually have a problem finding boots, but these ones fit my legs well. COMFORT - Not too comfortable for walking around all day, bu they'll keep you dry and warm when outside. LOOK/STYLE - They make my feet look huge, which is why I almost tried to exchange them for a different style that has half sizes. - They are cute.

These were supremely clunky compared with the Tofino boot - they look like men's boots, they are so wide. Still, I like the style & color and fit. And they are very comfortable and warm, although a bit heavy - would not want to wear for long walking or long days on my feet. Being a small woman I look a bit ridiculous in these.

I find these are both too small and too large at the same time. I normally wear a 6.5. At the suggestion of other reviews I ordered a 6 because it sounds like these boots run large. The shell of the boot is still a bit too large for me, however, the insert (insulation) is so small I can barely get my foot in and out of the boot! I have to sit down and struggle for ~5 min! I want to love these boots. They feel very nice on, but I'm not sure they are worth the $140 if I can't get them on and off easily! I would love to know how they change with use - will then end up fitting perfectly if I "break them in"!?

These things are MASSIVE! I already have a small frame and narrow foot but these things were huge. I ordered a size 6 which is a half size bigger than my street shoe and I should have gone up a whole size if it were available.

These are warm and weather proof but SO HEAVY! Walking in them is a serious workout! If you want a heavy duty snow boot, this is it; if you want a boot you can wear around town, not so much.

The liner inside this boot fits snug, so DONT order a size smaller or it will be TOO small, and the liner will stretch and rip. The boots outer shell fits kinda big, which is misleading to people and is why they go to smaller sizes than normal, but thats just the style of boot this is, so dont listen to people on here who say go up or down a size like I did, order your NORMAL shoe size and save the headache. They don't just slip on easy either, thats BS, even in your right size, with the liner its a bit tricky to get em on. People that say they kick them on and off have chosen sloppy oversized boots. Trust me. Which is why I also read complaints that they are too heavy and bulky! Yea, they would be when they are 2 sizes too big for your foot! DUH

I found the Sorel Caribou boots to be a very attractive looking snow boot, but that is where my high ratings for this boot ends. I normally wear a size 7, medium and so I ordered a whole size larger than what I normally wear to accommodate wearing a base layered silk sock and a wool sock. I tried on the size 8, Sorel boot, wearing a coolmax ski sock, but to my surprise, I found the footbed of the boot felt slightly snug and tight across my foot. The boot would likely been acceptable to me if I was spending only short periods of time outdoors, but I spend my winter vacations in arctic Norway and need a snow boot to feel slightly loose around my double-layer socked foot. A slightly loose fitted snow boot will keep my feet warm and dry during prolong periods in sub-zero temperatures. Another problem I experienced with these Sorel boots is the top of the inner boot fitted tight around my lower calf. I was unable to fit the bottom of my pant leg into the top of the boot. Maybe, a size 9 in these boots would have been the right fit for me, but I decided to return the Sorel boots for a refund after discovering that the once Canada made and owned Sorel went bankrupt in 2000 and was bought out by Columbia Sportswear. Columbia kept the Sorel name, making Sorel their subsidiary; however, Columbia then outsourced the Sorel boot production to Southeast Asia instead of keeping production in Canada. I was searching for a true snow boot for prolong outdoor use, but instead found the Sorel boot is now made for a fashion statement, which seems to have left out the qualities that once made Sorel the snow boot of choice.

I love Sorel. These are my second pair of boots. The first was a different style and struggled to get them on. I have wide feet and my calves are bigger than most so it is difficult to find foots that fit. My first sorrels came up over my calves. I had to give them to my daughter. These are much easier to get on, but I can't tie them. It would be nice if someone made boots for people like me. I even bought them one size bigger but that didn't help. You can't find a better boot than Sorel. Just wish they fit bigger people.
