Got these boots right before the big snow storm that hit NY. They are perfect for deep snow, have great traction and are cozy to wear. I think my only problem was that when I got them I couldn't get my foot into the boot. Come to find out sometimes the insert is defective. I chose to cut the elastic down the middle and that ended up working perfectly (they did offer to pay for shipping back to them for a return). All in all I really love these boots and have even purchased an additional pair of the 1964's.

I LOVE these boots. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is because they run a bit large and are certainly for wider feet. Half sizes might be helpful, but aren't available. Also, these boots are perfectly warm and wonderful, even in the coldest worst weather. Just be careful when picking a size.

Bought winter boots to ward off the snow gods this year, and it didn't work. The boots however are great! I wear a size 10, and the 10s are a bit big. If I don't wear them with heavy wool socks my heel slips. I didn't want the risk of getting 9 1/2s and having them too tight with thick socks. The boots are heavy, but they provide great traction in snow and ice. They are very warm, and stay dry.

We live in NYC and I am always pushing a stroller through un-shoveled streets and sidewalks so I needed something warmer than Hunter boots and Uggs to get me through the winter. I wanted to buy something I knew would last for the next couple of years and through sledding, snowman building and Manhattan streets and these are fantastic. My toes get cold very easily and they stay toasty warm in these boots. The only drawback is that they're very HEAVY! I opened the box and thought there was no way these were the correct size, yet alone woman's shoes because they are gigantic but they do the job. I usually wear a 9-9.5 and ordered a 9 and think an 8.5 (if there were half sizes) would fit much better. Even with thick socks they're big. I imagine the 8 would have been too small.

Warm and comfortable... your feet really feel protected from the elements! I wear a size 7.5 and ordered a size 7.0. The fit is perfect, the width is roomy and they are fine with a heavier or lighter sock. My only issue is getting used to the weight... they are quite heavy and I hope that they will soften up through use. Might just take some getting used to but overall I am pleased with them. They are heavy duty winter boots for sure!!

Well, by the time I realized I wanted the Caribous, they were all sold out in my size. I called Zappos and they said they would search the web to find me a pair. I thought that was so nice and thanked them, but ended up purchasing them myself from Amazon. Anyway, NJ just had another snow shower. I received the shoes about an hour ago and decided to see how they fared as I spread out salt on my driveway. Now I am a true 7 and 1/2. I read all the reviews (you can imagine how long that took me/don't ask), but I had seen every single person in Lake Placid wearing these boots last week and knew I had to have them. I have been wearing the same boots from Land's End (God bless them) for 8 years. I am not kidding. But it was time for some new ones. My toes are at the very end of this boot. Mind you, that is not uncomfortable, but they are a bit wide for my feet. They are bulky, sure. I was wearing a moderately heavy sock. I was looking for a very substantial boot that I could wear while walking my dog at 6 in the morning and something for shoveling snow. These boots fit the bill. I will forego any bulkiness; they are ridiculously warm and waterproof. What could be better?! These are a serious boot. They are not to be worn into the city for a day of shopping and walking around. They're for the snow. Thank you Zappos for all the reviews and for wanting to help me find these boots even if it meant going to another site.

I ordered both a size 7 and 8 to see which fit the best. I wear a size 8 normally. The boots are measured in inches per customer service so when I looked at the size chart it seemed as if I would need a size 7. After trying both sizes on at home I liked the fit of the 8 better. The liner in the size 7 is tight but the actual boot is huge if tried on without the liner. If we could get larger liners in smaller sized boots that would be prefect. So I say get you're normal shoe size and not a size down or order 2 pairs in each size to get your perfect fit. I also just wear smartwool socks or other thin warm socks. 4 star is because the liner's are such a different size compared to the actual boot. The actual boot is super warm and comfortable. Clunky and a bit heavy, yes, super warm and perfect for snowmobiling.

I am also one that would benefit from 1/2 sizes - I normally wear an 8.5 and ordered an 8 based on some of the other reviews. The boots fit well, but if I wear thick socks, they are not as comfortable. Fortunately, these are WARM boots (with the liners in) and I don't need really thick socks. I was surprised at the weight - these boots are heavier than I thought they would be. Fortunately, I don't do a lot of walking in them - I got them for snowmobiling, and they're great - nice and sturdy. I love the look - they are functional, but still a nice looking boot. I'm pretty happy with my purchase.

Well made and looks like they could keep your feet warm. I have to return these since they run BIG. Normally, footwear that runs large is no problem for me, but I need to go down one size. They felt more than one size too large.

I bought a first pair of Caribou 12 years ago and almost wore them out over the years. I just replaced them. They arrived at the right time as Switzerland has a rather snowy winter even in the plain. I was a bit surprised to notice that the model grew wider and heavier though in the same size. But as far as protection from humidity and cold temperature is concerned, it is the same wonderful equipment. Thank you for your help.

This boot is incredibly warm and heavy duty. There is no way snow is getting near my feet, and the traction is great. The only complaint I have is that they look HUGE on me and are very heavy and hard to bend my ankles in.

If you want a giant, cumbersome, warm pair of boots then look no further. I love my sorels. They are huge and toasty warm. They aren't great for walking any distance or driving. Seriously, they are like monster trucks for your feet. They are way to large for any practical purpose but man don't you just want one sitting in your driveway. If you live in a cold environment or just have cold natured feet then these might be for you.

Great boot, but make sure you try them on. The boots were 2 sizes too large for me. The lining also thins after awhile, so they'll become looser.

I wear a size 7 in all of my shoe styles. However, my Sorel Size 7's are a bit too big. They're fine for a short trek through the snow, but they feel heavy after a while and become cumbersome to walk in. This year, I purchased a size 6. The reviewer who mentioned the liner being the issue is correct. Without the liner, the size 6 fits great. With the liner, my toes just touch the edge of the shoe. The boots are warm, they stay dry, and they continue to look brand new. If Sorel could adjust the liners inside, I could give this a 5-star rating. Not all Sorel's run big! I also have the Snow Angel in a Size 7. It's been discontinued, but the Torino looks just like my Snow Angels, and they fit perfectly. This boot is shorter, does NOT have a liner, and is lighter. It's still a very warm boot, and my favorite pair.

Got my boots today. I ordered them in my normal size 8. It was miserable trying to get them on. Too tight. So tight that once I finally got them on, my feet started going numb. I do have wide feet, but not that wide. I finally managed to pull them off and was about box them back up to return them, when I remembered they had liners inside. I pulled the liners out and tried the boots on again. Was thrilled to realize that the boots were not only perfectly comfortable, but too big, just like the reviews said they would be. So I tried on the liners without the boots. They were tight and difficult to get in and out of. The liners are the problem. So I plan to keep my wonderful boots and find another solution for liners. Otherwise, the boots are very attractive and obviously well made.

I LOVE my Caribous but they are WAY too big. I got them about 2-3 years ago and didn't get around to sending them back for a smaller size. I wish I had. They are super warm and very comfortable boots but I think they would be even warmer and more comfortable if they were smaller. I got a women's 8 (which is the size I wear in tennis shoes) but should have maybe gotten a women's 7. These boots are great quality and still look as new as when I first got them and I wear them a lot.

Great snow boots, they're super warm and thick. The removable inner sock could be more flexible for easier removal, but it keeps feet really warm.

I had my last pair of Sorels for almost 20 years - it was time for a new pair. This newer version is a bit wider but otherwise I felt these were true to size. I am a solid 7.5, the 7 was just slightly too short. The 8 is a bit too big but fine with normal winter socks. My feet are always cold, I do occasionally get cold wearing these - but they are the best I have found.

I have big, wide feet. These shoes are about one full size too big. I usually wear 9-9.5 so with thick socks, I got a 9. They were still too big for me. There should be a disclaimer with these shoes that anything over a size 8 will make your feet look ginormous - and for a fashionista, that's not so great. Ask Paris Hilton. I think this is due to the white band design of the rubber, along with the overall width of these boots. The overall design is cute and would look great if you're under a size 8 shoe and want a casual, rain boot type of look. I ordered 3 pairs of waterproof boots to see which would fit and look the best. Granted I haven't actually worn any of these into the snow or rain so I'm only basing my review on fit and looks. I ordered the Sorel Caribou, Sorel Tivoli and the Kamik Comforter 2. The Caribou is a cute, casual rain/snow shoe and good if you have small feet. The overall design is cute but definitely more casual looking like a rain boot because of the white banding. Definitely order one size down for these shoes as other reviewers have noted. The Kamik Comforter 2 is all black and 1/2 the price of the other two boots I bought so I was hoping I would like this one. But due to the lower part of the boot being a very stiff rubber (much stiffer than the Sorel's), it squished my wide feet and felt uncomfortable even though the length fit. I did what others suggested and ordered a size up on the Kamik's which was good advice. Again, I think these shoes could be cute if you're on a tighter budget and want a basic black snow boot but they made my feet look just as huge as the Caribou's. I think anything over size 8 would probably look really unproportioned to the rest of your body. I was thrilled to try on the Sorel Tivoli's. They are all black with a similar design to the Caribou but they're much classier and could swing both ways as far as being casual or dressy. I love that! I'm wearing them as we speak with my black sweater and skinny jeans and they look so cute. My favorite part about these shoes is that even though I'm wearing a size 9.5, they make my feet look so small and cute! Unlike all of the other boots I've tried on that literally make me look like a man, these make my feet look stylish, dainty, and ready for some romping in the snow/rain. The lower part of the boot is a nice soft leather and the upper part is black with a slight metallic silver sheen to it. They're even lined with nice black fluffy fleece. All this cuteness and they're still waterproof! I wear a size 9-9.5 so I ordered a 9.5 thinking I would wear thicker socks and they fit perfectly.

We have worn Sorel boots for 26 years. We wear them in West Yellowstone, which many times is the coldest spot in the nation. They are warm and toasty. Love that the liners can be pulled out of the boot to dry out the boot. We just bought a new pair after 10 years. Not happy with the new design of the liner though. I liked the split front not the elastic front on the liners. Makes it very difficult for a person with a wide foot and high arch to get into the liners, but once the liner is on no problem.

Awesome boots, definitely order down in size if you are a half or in between sizes in different brands. Great, but huge width, huge boots. Very big and clunky, so make sure that's what you're looking for. I guess the $250 dollar version gets you a more normal contour of a snow boot.

Beware of Sizing! My Sorels arrived quickly and appear exactly as pictured in the ads. They're chunky, clunky, cozy and fun! I had read numerous customer reviews, on multiple web sites, prior to purchasing, and almost all users recommended buying one size down (these do not come in half-sizes). I'm a true women's size 8 medium, so I ordered my Sorels in a size 7. The size 7 boots' width is perfect (spacious), but the length is a touch short.

Classic Snow Boot - There are many things to like about this boot: the ice-gripping tread, easy lacing, insulation, waterproof bottom, and so on. I really wanted these to work, but my feet are narrow, and the boots are *extremely* wide. I thought of ordering a size down to reduce the width, but the length seems close to or true to size.

This boot is very warm and definitely keeps your feet dry. I ordered a half a size smaller than normal and it was still a bit big. You could probably be safe ordering a full size smaller than normal.
