I bought these for my son ,who is growing like a weed, but I wanted him to have a pair of quality boots while we are in England for 2 months. I own a pair of Sorels and my husband has the same in a different color. We wear them when we are in Colorado as well. Always have worn Sorels and they have not let me down yet!!

I'm not sure if I got a defective pair, but I could barely slide my foot into the boot (which required much effort) and then when I tried to take it off the only way possible was to yank out the entire liner and then slowly peel it off my foot. I have always worn I regular sized 8 (not wide or anything) and these boots were impossible!

Best Boots ever! I live in a remote mountain community and these boots are my go to every day! Very comfortable, keep the feet dry, great traction. I went down a whole size and they fit fine. I think my normal size would have been too big. Thanks Sorel for making such a quality boot!

My family has relied on Sorels to keep our feet warm in the winter for years. I wanted dark brown boots with felt liners to match my coat but could not find any in women's so bought men's. They are cozy but I'm wondering if they would be warmer if the liners were wool. Also, the liners have a sort-of stretchy front panel that I assume is supposed to "give" enough to easily get the boots off and on. However it does not work! I cut open the panel and sewed a piece black elastic across the opening at the ankle and midway up the calf. Now they slip on and off without a fight and pulling off my socks. I think they'll work for me--hopefully for the next 15 years, just like my last pair of Sorels.

I have searched for two years to find mens size 17 boots. These fit very well and are wide across the foot. Finally, a boot that fits! They are warm and tall to keep me warm and dry. Thanks Sorel!

While these boots will not win any awards in the Cute or Sexy category, they will definitely win in the Warm and Dry categories. I wanted boots for the coming winter and though it hasn't snowed yet, I get the impression that these will be a good bet. The outer shell is a tough rubber and the inner boot is a very thick, warm felt. I normally wear a 7 or 7.5 but ordered up to an 8 and am glad I did; because the inner boot is so thick, I had trouble getting them on barefoot. If you like to wear thick socks with your boots, you'll want to order two sizes up. I'm also happy with the width of the boot. I do have bunions (unashamed!) and the toe box of these boots offered plenty of room. In short: I can't wait for it to snow.

I am here to tell you that I LOVE my Caribous! I have had them for many, many years, and they have held up better than I have any right to expect. I only wish I had had them when I was living in Toronto - I could not afford them when I was a starving student, but NY can be extremely snowy too, and they have done their job beautifully, and stood the test of time. I do find them a little hard to get on and off, because I usually wear 2 prs wool socks under them, and now, after at lest 35 yrs of limited, snowy day use, the leather is beginning to crack. Probably from the crud they put on the snow and ice to make it go away (instead of shoveling it!) and my failure to use leather soap and neat's foot oil on them once in a while. I have gotten every penny's worth out of them that I put in, and then some. Can't recommend them highly enough!

I purchased these boot for my daughter as part of her gear for her freshman year at Bennington College in Vermont. I wanted her to have boots that would stand up to the Vermont winters, and be stylish enough for her to willingly wear them. As far as her wearing them goes: These were the first items set out to be packed in the car.
It's still in the 80s and I suspect it will be at least a week or two before temperatures plummet on her campus (!), but I am confident in at least this part of her college experience: Her feet will be warm and dry, and her footing secure.

I purchased a pair of these boots thirty years ago and I still wear them today. They are nearly brand new and show no signs of wear or breakdown. I live in the New England and we get amazing winters here. These boots have slogged through icy water and snow and my feet are always toasty warm and stay dry. Top rated product!!! Worth Every Single Penny!!!!!! Now I'm getting them for all my kids!

These boots are amazingly comfortable and warm! Unfortunately, we did not get any weather this winter to allow me to test them out properly. I will pack them away in my closet and hope to put them to use next year!

I found the Sorel Caribou boots to be a very attractive looking snow boot, but that is where my high ratings for this boot ends. I normally wear a size 7, medium and so I ordered a whole size larger than what I normally wear to accommodate wearing a base layered silk sock and a wool sock. I tried on the size 8, Sorel boot, wearing a coolmax ski sock, but to my surprise, I found the footbed of the boot felt slightly snug and tight across my foot. The boot would likely been acceptable to me if I was spending only short periods of time outdoors, but I spend my winter vacations in arctic Norway and need a snow boot to feel slightly loose around my double-layer socked foot. A slightly loose fitted snow boot will keep my feet warm and dry during prolong periods in sub-zero temperatures. Another problem I experienced with these Sorel boots is the top of the inner boot fitted tight around my lower calf. I was unable to fit the bottom of my pant leg into the top of the boot. Maybe, a size 9 in these boots would have been the right fit for me, but I decided to return the Sorel boots for a refund after discovering that the once Canada made and owned Sorel went bankrupt in 2000 and was bought out by Columbia Sportswear. Columbia kept the Sorel name, making Sorel their subsidiary; however, Columbia then outsourced the Sorel boot production to Southeast Asia instead of keeping production in Canada. I was searching for a true snow boot for prolong outdoor use, but instead found the Sorel boot is now made for a fashion statement, which seems to have left out the qualities that once made Sorel the snow boot of choice.
I'd also recommend:
Columbia, Kamik, Muck Boots, Baffin, Merrell

My first pair lasted seven months and then the rubber started cracking on the bottom. Returned them to dealer for another pair, they only lasted two months and they started cracking, took them back to dealer for a refund, and now I'm done with Sorel. In my opinion very cheap material and poor quality.

DO NOT BUY THESE BOOTS; save your money; Sorel is no longer #1. The quality of the boots was poor. I wore them for one winter, and they did not last. The rubber cracked on both boots, and when I contacted Sorel, they never responded and were not willing to stand behind their product. Do not buy these boots. My boyfriend also as a pair, and the rubber is cracking on his as well. Sorel is no longer a quality product.

I live in Alaska, so I have a lot of boots. Most of them are cuter than this pair, but none of them are warmer. And with this type of boot, isn't that the point? I recently wore these to a winter festival where we were walking around outside for about seven hours. I was warm and the boots were comfortable. I would say the size is pretty true, I usually wear a 9 and that is what I ordered. They fit fine, plenty of wiggle room in the toes, but a size down would have been too small. The only problem I have had so far is on ice. These boots have no traction!

Just got my Sorel caribou today and I absolutely love them! They are extremely warm and sturdy. I haven't tried them in winter weather yet but I have no doubt that they will keep me warm, dry and make it easy for me to trudge through snow and ice. As a previous UGGs owner, I can honestly say that the Sorel Caribou is the better choice and regret not making the decision to get Sorels earlier!

Bought m previous Sorel's about 25 years ago for winter hiking; they never really wore out as I still use them for snow shoveling and walking the dog on really snowy days. I wanted to up date my snowshoeing and winter hiking gear. After looking around and trying on several different vendors' boots, I came back to my Sorels in their latest version. I really like the fit and their grip in the snow. I feel like I'm on solid ground with them.
I suspect this second pair will also last me many years of winter trekking!! Thanks for a great product!

I've never purchased snow boots before and tried on several pairs at REI before ordering the Sorel Caribou through Zappos. I normally wear a 8.5 and have narrow feet. I purchased a 8.5 in this boot and it feels fabulous! Went snowshoeing through deep levels of snow for 3 hours and my feet were always toasty and warm. (I wore SmartWool's padded socks). The boots are a little bulky and heavy, but they did the job!

The liner in these boots were to small for the boot so Zappo's credited me for the cost of the liner so that I could purchase the liner in a size larger direct from the company. Now they fit perfect. Zappo's was extremely accomodating in helping me to purchase the right size boot Their customer loyalty team is great. Hope your experience with Zappo's is as pleasant.

Very comfy and well-made. Unfortunately, they are only sold in whole sizes, so my feet are swimming in them a but, but they're still great!

I wore these during two winters in Northern Poland and I'm still kicking myself for leaving them behind for my landlord to use. The only time my feet got cold was when the thermometer was below -25C. My feet were never wet! I could pull out the insoles for quick drying or washing due to foot sweat and be ready to go in a few hours. If I move to Hokkaido Island Japan, I'm buying another pair (shale/stone) and this time I won't be leaving them behind.

These were received in 2 days! However, I have very thick calves, and the boot wasn't comfortable so I had to return them.
