The style is great but these boots do not protect very well from the cold. My feet get cold and moist when I wear them. I am very disappointed.

Please read the one-star reviews. Many people are having the same problem with the rubber cracking on the sides of the toes at the bend points. My boots only lasted 2 years when I encountered the same problem. There is obviously a problem with the material. These are not $40 Kmart boots. It's ridiculous to pay $160 for something that only lasts 2 years.

I never thought I would need boots this heavy-duty, but after moving to Chicagoland, and dealing with the slushy sidewalks and cold snaps, I realized just how perfect they are. They are as warm as they claim to be, and comfortable all around. The soles have great traction, too, so there are no worries about slipping, sliding, or busting myself up in a fall. My only warning is for ladies with wider calves like me: while they will fit, they may be a little snug. Nowhere near uncomfortable, just snug.

I love these for the cold - they keep my feet super toasty. But I really wish I'd bought these a half size smaller. I ordered my typical size 8.5, and an 8 would have worked much better. They felt huge, which I decided was due to their width - the toe box is huge and roomy. They are also heavy, though, so the extra room means my feet are sliding around in them with every clomp, even when I wear thick socks. It's not a great walking experience, and I've come to admit I would have done better with a size 8.

Had to return the boot due to size- ran extremely large. Would recommend ordering at least one size, if not 2 sizes, smaller. Seemed like it would have been a nice, albeit heavy, boot.

I bought these b/c i like the idea of inserts. After 2 pregnancies my feet really did grow so i orders a wide shoe. Unfortunately when the boot came it didn't fit... because the boot was way too big and the insert was way too small i couldn't even get my foot in the insert! so now i'm out 15 bucks b/c i had to return them and i still don't have any boots!! and it's been a heck of winter in the northeast!! Back to LL Bean.

Bought a 10, normally wear a 9.5, figured for a winter boot with thick socks it would fit. It was closer to an 11. The tongue of the shoe is attached to the top and the shaft is narrow. Cute boot, did not work.

These are beautifully made, expensive looking boots. They are VERY warm and meant for serious winter days. From a fashion perspective, they are trendy and cute with pants tucked in or with pants over boot. I love wearing them! They are TRUE TO SIZE if you want to wear a sock and/ or possibly an orthotic which I wear sometimes. I bought a size 9 and wear an 8.5 shoe and am happy with the size. The ONLY negative is the weight of each boot. They are heavy, serious boots. These are NOT UGGS! They are stylish REAL winter boots. They are NOT for bopping around the city as a fashion statement due to their weight. I wear my high leather boots for fashion around the city and these SORELS when I want to be warm and cozy AND look good! Good luck!:)

This is my second pair. I "outgrew" my first pair after 15 years. They were not even close to being worn out! A great feel and reliable boot. I tie them loose enough to slip on and off when I need them. Lifelong fan!

The lining of the boot is cut small and it separates from the boot when you try to take the boot off.

I got these boots, tried them on and absolutely loved them. These are replacement boots I needed for snowmobiling. I can't wait to try them in the cold snowy weather however I've already verified they're good for shoveling : )

This purchase was to replace a 20 year old pair of lighter weight Sorel Caribou boots that finally wore out. That older pair were rated for about 20 F. If this newer pair preform similarly or better, I won't need another pair for as long as I live. I'm 61 now!. I used them for the first time last week and was very pleased with them. I found that very heavy wool socks are not necessarily needed. Lighter weight wool socks are a good companion.

I loved my old Sorels I wore in college in MT. Twenty years later, living in ME, I was ready for a new pair. I generally fluctuate between a 9 and a 9.5 shoe size. I tried a size 9 at Cabelas (hunting store) and surprisingly, they were way too short in the length and did not have a 9.5 in stock. Figuring the 9.5 would be perfect, I ordered online. The weekend the boots arrived, we were hit with a big snow storm. Initially, they felt great, but after wearing them 3 times in the snow, the wool liner spread more deeply into the boot and I realized I am swimming in them!!! They feel like a 10.5. I am so disappointed. I spent $175 for these boots that are way too big and since I have worn them, I can't return them.

I needed a good pair of boots for working outside in Wisconsin winters. These are just what I needed! My shoe size is 7.5 or 8 depending on the manufacturer and style, and I ordered size 8 boots. I've been wearing them with sock liners plus relatively thin wool socks. My thickest socks make the boots too tight, but I haven't needed thick socks to stay warm. These boots are heavy and sturdy, so don't expect flexibility. I am very happy with these boots.

This was a great boot. I ordered a half size up and had plenty of room and the boot wasn't tight which is the fit that I was hoping for. It's suppose to snow tomorrow. Can't wait to try them out. Highly recommend.

I live in Minnesota and need boots that will do well in deep snow and cold temps. I often think about if I should get stuck and need to walk or be exposed to the weather for extended periods of time. The boots are really nice and meet my expectations.

These boots are excellent. I first tried on the right boot and it fit perfectly so I thought that there wasn't a need to try on the left boot. A few days later, I tried the left boot and had difficulty getting my foot all the way to the bottom. However, a 2nd attempt worked just fine as I found that the felt insert wasn't completely down when I first tried them. I love the features, appearance, color choices and quality of these boots. They are well worth the price.

I recently moved to Chicago, IL and survived the Polar Vortex which brought record breaking low temperatures to the area (below zero temps with -40 degree wind chill). I needed a boot that would keep my feet warm and dry. The Caribou Sorel will do just that and more. In fact, my feet were sweating when wearing them. Alternatively, if you are looking for a fashionable book with a feminine flare - don't by the Caribou. It is very clunky and will make your foot appear larger. Again, if your solely looking for a boot that will keep your feet warm and dry - the Caribou is for you!

I had to return these boots for two reasons. First, I wear a size 9, and ordered the boot in that size. It was way too big. Second, the boot is huge, bulky, and very heavy. I do a lot of walking outdoors, and these were too difficult to walk around in.

The boots fit slightly larger than other Sorel boots that are more street/fashion in style, but are still very comfortable and warm.

Well as luck would have it as soon as my boots arrived, the weather broke and it warmed up however there were a few days where the temps dipped and I've never so warm and comfortable in a pair of boots. They also look great. I've already recommended them to friends and family.

I asked for boots which I could wear ice fishing and stay warm in. I have not done that yet but have worn them outdoors when the "polar vortex" has made the weather here in Pittsburgh bitterly cold. I have stayed warm and find the boots very comfortable to walk in. As to the size, I am normally an 11 with wide feet and I have found the 11!/2, which I had to order online to be a good fit. I have gone to stores and tried on the 11 (too tight) and the 12 (too loose). I am hopeful that the boots will be as durable as they are comfortable.

Love the boots! The only issue I have (and it's small) is that the liner inside the boot is a little snug when I put them on. So that is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. Once I get the boot on though they are warm and comfortable and exactly what I wanted!
