I purchased these in a 9 instead of my usual 8.5 after speaking with a customer service representative. They fit like a dream. They are very comfortable, no rubbing or digging at the back of the ankles as is common in the Joan of Arctic boots from Sorel. I walk around campus in nasty blizzard conditions and have no problems with them. They are completely waterproof, extremely warm, a little on the heavier side but not enough to be annoying, and super stylish! I can't tell you how many people I have seen with Sorel boots on campus. EVERY time I go to class I spot at least three people with them. Us Northerners know our boots! Get them, you will love them forever and they will last forever.

This boot is great for trekking through fresh powder in the woods and that is about it. Not a boot for city living or even for casual everyday winter wear. Absolutely no traction on any slippery surface - I've taken a couple nasty spills and nearly broke my wrist trying to catch myself simply walking across my parking lot. These boots are not very warm and the wide width makes them bulky and awkward for prolonged wear. I ended up purchasing another pair of winter boots with better traction, fit and warmth for everyday wear. My Sorel Caribou's are now used only for taking the dog outside when it's snowing heavily. Would not recommend these boots for anyone living in an actual winter climate.

I live at 10,000 ft with 6-8 months of winter and have been looking for a decent boot for while. These boots run big. I normally wear 7.5 and was told to buy a size 8 and they were huge, so I had to exchange them. I don't believe they are true to being rated to -45 degrees. Whether I'm standing or sitting ice fishing, my feet are almost always cold unless I'm constantly moving. I recently ordered the higher rated inserts and hope they help. These boots are pretty heavy compared to Muck Artic boots and other common brands. Overall, I still like them but wish they came a little warmer and were a little lighter.

The tag on the boots rated them to -41. I as skeptical but bought them anyway. I do some outside work through the winter and used them on a day when it was 20 degrees. My feet got cold. I returned them

I usually wear a size 7, so I got a size 7, and it fits perfectly. There's also enough room (but not too much room) to wear thick socks. These are great for heavy snow and prolonged wear outside. Forewarning that they are hard to drive in since they are large around your foot and the ankle isn't super flexible.

I am a plumber in colorado. They do not keep warm. They cracked the rubber the first winter I had them. Happened to my wife's boots twice. Good fit and comfortable other wise. Great if you live in a place where you don't have to worry about the weather elements or you just want to be stylish with poor quality boots.

Perfect ski resort winter wear. This is the Colorado mountain town local's choice winter footwear. Works for shoveling the driveway, work, and a night out on the town. You can tell who is local by what they are wearing.
The ski resort I work at stocks these in the employee company store. I just bought a new pair cause my old ones were done after three seasons. The rubber uppers just started splitting open. The soles and leather still looked new.
The size is true to fit. One can wear a pair of nice thick wool blend socks with your feet. My feet do start to get cold in them when the temp is 30 to 40 degrees below zero. It was minus 45 the other week in the Fraser Valley.
The traction is great in the snow. I add some Yak Trax for walking on ice.
I'm glad the ski resort stocks these at employee pricing. They keep your feet warm at work.

These are my first pair of Sorels and I am obsessed! I love them so much. I wish it would snow everyday so I could wear them. They keep my feet very warm and yes are a bit heavy but you do get used to that, I mean they are snow boots.. I ordered a whole size down after reading the reviews (I'm a 7 1/2, I ordered a 6 1/2) and my boots fit perfectly.

Loved these boots! Thought they would be with me for years down the road... referred to them as "My Sorels", as if they were close friends...
14 months later the rubber dry rotted. A common theme I saw in reviews.., with only a 12 month warranty...? :( its just not fair.

I cannot live without this boot. I live in Colorado and it can be extremely cold. I have a ranch and I am outside at least 3xs a day doing barn chores. I have had my boots for almost 11 yrs. just now I got a hole in the sole. I need to replace them ASAP. They keep your feet warm and dry like no other boot. Love, love them.

Something about the sizing of the Caribou boot is way off. The 8 in the Tivoli II fits me perfectly (I'm usually a 7.5) but the 8 in the Caribou feels more like a 9-10. I've tried two pair of Caribou boots over the past month with the same result. Loved the look of this boot, but not the boot for me I guess.

I have been wearing Sorel's since I was 13. I wore those first boots from 13-39. I was in the Scouts, and wore them a lot when I was younger. The only reason I retired those boots was because the leather was breaking down a little (only a little). I saw these boots and I had to have them. I got the black on black version. I loved them. They look beautiful. They are warm, comfortable, and dry. In about 1.5 years of light use, the rubber cracked. And by light use, I used them to snow blow my driveway a hand full of times and I took a couple of walks in the park. They cracked so bad I can put my whole finger through the hole. I am so disappointed! Others have said the same thing. I would not buy Sorel's again until they address the issue. I don't except them to last 25 years, but I do except them to last a long time. There is no reason that quality boots shouldn't last a long time.

Buyer beware!!! The rubber is of poor quality and will crack after minimal use. Poor quality and not worth the wet feet later. I use to be a Sorel believer. I can't stand beside or "in" these boots anymore.

I consulted the Sorel website and followed their sizing recommendations before ordering. The recommended size was huge on me. My feet are a bit narrow, but fairly average. The shoes are super heavy and bulky too. I was expecting this on some level, but was disappointed that these would add so much weight for outdoor adventures. I wasn't in love with the styling when they arrived so its not worth the effort to continue to find the right size.

I thought for the price I was getting a quality product. I was expecting a warm, durable boot. I was surprised after 1.5 years of very light use(maybe worn 20 times in normal snowy conditions) the rubber began cracking on both boots in the same spot. I will try to exchange them or get them fixed, but I will never buy a pair of sorel boots again. They are pretty warm, but obviously poor quality overall. They are not made to last.

I wear a 7.5 I purchased a 7.5 because reviews said these ran big and were clunky. True. I have plenty of room in the 7.5 These boots offer a lot of room. Very happy with the fit of these. Haven't played in the snow yet with them, but I'm sure they will be great!

WIDE FEET-LOOK NO FURTHER!! I have tried so many boots to find one that was warm enough for Idaho winters and yet fit my wide foot. Could not find any at N Face, and tried the sorel joan of the arctic, tivoli and glacy. Other than the glacy and the caribou, the rest could not accommodate a wide foot. I chose the glacy as an everyday type waterproof winter shoe and the caribou for snow. Even with my wide foot I can wear smart wool socks. The boots are heavy, weighed in at 5 lbs and are cumbersome to put on/off but the comfort of a boot that fits my wide foot is so worth it! I am happy to finally have found a wide boot that is warm. I bought 1/2 size smaller than normal if i don't buy wide and my normal size in a a wide width shoe.

I have been a fan of Sorel since I was in high school....ummmm that has been over 20 years. I just had to replace my 20 year old pair with a new one. These boots are made of great quality along with their cool stylish look. There was never a time that I didnt get a compliment! Love them and will continue to stay a fan. Great in the snow...rain...and cold. They are heavy at first but you get used to them quickly. I love them so much i bought my 8 year old a pair and she loves them just the same especially when we wear them together.

So this is a great winter boot and serves its purpose especially living in New England. They are a clunky looking. I'm a size 7 but when I look down at my feet they look quite large in these boots. I also feel like I might walk a little funny in them since they are a heavy boot. Trekking through the snow and ice is what I bought them for and these boots accommodate that.

I've only had these shoes for about a month and a half but I am completely obsessed with them! The winters in Minnesota are very harsh and this winter is no exception. These boots have kept my feet warm in -25 degree weather and stabilized me on icy sidewalks. So if you live in the midwest and you're concerned about whether they keep you warm the inside is very well insulated with a thick inner sole and do a good job of protecting against cold weather. The quality of the boot so far is superb and they are really sturdy and constructed really well! I got these boots in the color buff and they have complemented all my outfits nicely. Overall I'm extremely pleased with this purchase and if you're on the fence of buying these, get them! They are worth the investment.

In all of my shoes I wear an 8.5. So I ordered an 8.5. I returned then for a 7.5 and they are perfect. I saw the fit thing on line after I got the first pair. It would have recommended an 8, which would still have been too big.

Needing a quality and budget-friendly boot in a large size (12) I am often limited in options. I wanted to buy a Sorel boot soon after after reading about the company's exceptional history and reputation for quality. What sealed the deal for me were the comments on the Caribou fitting true to size or slightly larger, a needle in a haystack find for a size 12 girl like me.
Overall my experience with the boots has been great. I've had them for a little more than a month and have had only minimal, insignificant complaints (listed as my cons). At times, even living through a Michigan winter, I think I could have bought one of Sorel's "less sturdy" or less warm styles for my casual needs (car>office, shoveling, short walks) as the Caribou truly exceeded my expectations for warmth and durability.
Pros: Very warm, Excellent fit (room for thick socks), Removable inserts
Cons: Heavy, Feet look larger, Moderate ankle movement restriction

These are the first snow boots that I have ever owned, but I have had many waterproof hiking boots worn with very thick wool socks in the past. These are so clunky and big they made me feel like bigfoot. My feet are not narrow, my feet are not small, so it is definitely the boots. These are great if you live in Alaska I guess, but for tooling around in the snow in Yosemite, they are not the thing, unless you are planning to inhabit the snow, I guess. But not walking boost, really. They are way heavy and clumsy.
