The pair I originally ordered from Zappos were defective. The right boot made a loud popping sound when I walked & had air trapped in the sole at the ball of the foot (not the usual Docs squeaky sound). I returned w no issue and went to an official Dr. Marten store to get the same boots. These boots are so comfortable right out of the box and are not stiff because of the soft leather. Highly recommend as they had no break in required for me. I also have narrow feet and these fit great.

Want to look like you're cosplaying Docs with low end plastic boots? Then this is your boot. For $169, these were an INCREDIBLE letdown, and I have no idea how there are so many favorable reviews. Maybe they had a recent change in materials? That's the only conclusion I can come to because even looking at these boots from a distance, there is no mistaking them for quality leather. They SCREAM "pleather". The trim around the top is particularly unforgivable. You know the plastic trim on a really cheap purse? That's exactly what the top trim looks like. In my opinion, the only thing you are paying for is the easy to recognize yellow tag and stitching. My conclusion: FIT- As expected. 7M fits like a 7M WORKMANSHIP: Stitching etc is good COMFORT- Feels cheap inside and stepping causes obvious white stress lines to the super thin outer shell APPEARANCE -$39 pleather boot STATUS- Returned

Definitely a "go to" doc. If you are a women's shoe size 8.5, you will need to order a size 9.

Bought my normal size, couldn't even get my feet in. I couldn't say if it was comfortable because it was way too small.

These definitely run a bit small. The weather is beautiful and softer than the patent leather. I hope that means they will be easier to break in the worst thing about these is where the tongue attaches to the top of the shoe, inside. The seam protrudes, and is quite uncomfortable. I really hope this softens up as they break in.

I was so excited to finally get some docs on sale, but now I'm heartbroken. The bridge where the laces end is VERY low, making these shoes tight and uncomfortable. I wish they fit. They are beautiful.

The fit is very comfortable, and I’m on my feet all day as a teacher. I love the look and they’re light enough to NOT feel like I’m “clunking “ around with cement shores on my feet all day long. I’ve gotten several compliments, by young people, so that means a lot —to me and the Doc Marten franchise.

Love these - my first pair of 1460's and so glad I went with the nappa leather. It will wear so much better than the smooth leather. Very comfortable and minimal break in period. Thank you Zappos!

i request a size 5 but you guys sent me a men size 10 so i never got to wear the shoe. it was entirely too big.

Sizing is true for us 7. These boots look good but they are very stiff and you'd need to break them in. Not comfortable to wear. I also had a feeling that the "smooth" leather looks a little fake. So they are going back.

I am usually a 7.5 in shoes, 7 in Converse and sometimes a 7 if I get a wide shoe. I know the thing to do for Dr. Martens is to size down to the next whole size. I've learned that my slightly wide feet seemed too wide and just a little bit too long for the women's 7. However, in unisex Dr. Martens the Men's 6/Women's 7 fit me perfectly. I was hesitant but exchanged for an 8. The Women's 8 fits more like how I would have expected the 7 to fit according to what I've heard about the brand. Otherwise, I love them! Just know you may need to exchange if you're in between sizes due to no half size. The half size larger fit review is for the SIZE 8. Size 7 was anywhere from a half size too small to maybe even a full size with a narrower width.

It was way too narrow for me. The fit overall felt smaller than the jadon, even at the toes. It felt a size too small. While I want to order a size up, I feel it might still be narrow. Returning these unfortunately. The boots were super cute though.

Classic style you can't go wrong with. Love them!

This boot is so cute but hugely uncomfortable. Unfortunately I need to return them. They are very stiff and cut into the back of my calf.

good for rainy weather

Fit seems alright, haven't worn yet but not as comfy as I'd liked. Love the look.

They are a bit heavy but manageable. They are also comfortable. I like them. I am a size 10 and I ordered a size 10. They feel a tad roomy but I knew the 9 would be uncomfortable in the long run.

The tongue and vamp of shoe were so stiff and tight and pressed against the top of my foot. It was so painful I could hardly walk and I have a narrow foot. Shoe itself is very stylish.

Ouch!! So painful on my shins, and the top of my foot. I could only wear them for maybe 3 minutes. I don’t know how anyone could wear these boots. They’re super adorable but so disappointingly on comfort.

I really love these boots. I wear them with fishnets and a dress or skirt. I also wear them with jeans - the usually. You really need to break these in. Bring bandaids for your first few outings.

They feel and look great!! I absolutely love these shoes, and can wear them with just about anything! Also, the breaking in did not take as long as I thought they would!!

I’ve had two other pairs of docs before these ones. My feet randomly grew and they got too small, so I bought these in the Black Napa Leather. I expected and am okay with them being slightly too big lengthwise because I am in between sizes, but they are really loose all around the width of my feet. The Black Napa Leather creases really easily and doesn’t feel very sturdy, so if you don’t like those elements I wouldn’t recommend the material. Overall these shoes are just okay. I would return them, but I’ve worn them twice outside and I’m lazy. They are alright, so it’s not that bad. I’d give them a 5/10.

Went with size 10. I wear 91/2. Thought they looked a little clunky out of the box, but once on I loved them! Can’t wait to wear with jeans or dresses!

The Nappa leather breaks in like a dream. It’s not stiff at all and a few days in thick socks and these babies are ready to go anywhere.
