Customer Reviews New Balance Classics W801 - Deleted

I like New Balance but... Their sizing seems a bit inconsistent. I ordered a wide in this shoe based on reviews that it runs small and while I can slip it off and on easily, it is too short and my heel hits the edge of the shoe. Also, I mistakenly thought New Balance was made in the USA but this pair of shoes is not. It is made in China. I will be more careful in ordering next time because I prefer all made in the USA. I think the shoe is well made and it is comfortable despite the fact that it is a tiny bit short for me. I will keep them but not order this model again.

Good looking and comfortable, but I did order a half size bigger. Also hard to keep your foot down into the shoe, and if it slips out towards the back, you catch your heel on the lip of the shoe. But after broken in, very, very good!

Great clog/sneaker - I just had a knee replacement. I bought these shoes because they have a wide width and a good arch support. I can just slide into these shoes and not have to bend over and tie them. Which is good for therapy, because my shoes are on and off. I have these shoes in white, tan suede, and gray corduroy. I love them!

This is actually a nice shoe however it is a little hard across the top, possibly because of the synthetic material it is made of. They are most comfortable when worn with socks. I like the look especially when worn with sweatpants. I even received a compliment when I first wore them.

Good Shoe - I like this shoe for it's easy on/off. I often prefer a shoe that slips on rather than tie. The only drawback I have is that the shoe can initially be stiff and the upper portion seaming may hurt the foot. It seems this seam is right where my foot bends and causes very minor discomfort if worn for extended periods of time. I have only worn the shoes twice so that may change as I break the shoes in a little more.

Best with your orthotics - Because these are a mule, they're less supportive than other NB shoes. However, you can wear them with your orthotics. If your feet get swollen, these have elastic on the top to accommodate your feet - I wore them when I was pregnant, which was great! Great shoe with removable insole!

No arch support - I really needed new workout shoes and was anxiously waiting for these to arrive since I wore out my Asics. But, the lack of arch support aggravated my plantar fasciitis after a day's wear and I can't wear them anymore. It sure looked like it had arch support. The shoe does fit well and seems to do exactly what it should. It's stylish, comfortable, and very soft. Were it not for the lack of arch support, I'd have a winner on my hands.

Good Work Shoe - I bought this shoe in addition to the Easy Spirit Traveltime, both for work. I'm a nurse in a hospital so I do lots of walking but even more standing in my job. I have found this shoe to be more comfortable in standing than in walking. And they did need to be broken in to be really comfortable. Overall, worth the price.

Great everyday errand shoe. I wanted a shoe I could wear when I travel (I'm tired of taking off my sneakers and re-lacing them every time I go through security), and one that would be casual and comfortable for daily errands and things. This shoe does all that, although it's not quite as good-looking as I'd like. It took me a few tries to get the size right, and I wound up with the Wide--I've never needed a wide shoe before. I think it looks a little clunky, but it's comfortable, not awful looking, and easy to slip on and off. I wish the black had been available in my size.

Comfortable slip on shoes - These are exactly as I expected. They are somewhat unattractive but are quite comfortable and are perfect to slip on to walk the dog, run to the grocery store, etc. My only two complaints are they show wear worse than I though (they look far older than 1 year) and they are HOT - I cannot wear these unless the weather is cool.

NB W801 slide - I love the look of these shoes. The tread is perhaps a bit excessive -- I only plan to use them for in the house or going to yoga, not hiking in the woods! I found the B width a bit wide and the insole a bit flat for my feet. I prefer to have more support in the instep. I think I will get used to the feel though. They are convenient and as stated before, look great.

Pretty good shoe - I like the ease of a slip on, and I like this one because it has the edge on the back of the shoe at the heel. So it stays on better than an open back shoe. It has a stretch panel on the top of the shoe also, that has a little "give." Overall, it's pretty comfortable with no break in time.

Comfortable shoe - Nice shoe to slip into quickly and run your errands.

New Balance W801 - I was looking for a clog-type shoe that I could wear to work. These just didn't fit the bill ...they feel "heavy" for some reason. And maybe clogs just aren't for me. They DO stay on because of the elastic top and I really like that they are offered in Wide - work well with or without socks. I'm keeping them for use around the house and backyard but for work, they just aren't right... I know they're on my feet.

A keeper! First of all, I love the colored stripes which give the khaki version of this shoe a little pizazz. My feet hurt quite a bit if I do any amount of walking in 'regular' shoes, but not with these -- they're marvelous. Plus, the stripes make them prettier than the run-of-the-mill walking shoes. I had to exchange my normal size 8w for 8.5w, as they felt short to me, and until I'd worn them for a bit, a little tight across the top.

Feels more like a slipper than a sneaker, but they're getting more comfortable as I wear them in.

Wish the could be better - The very first pair of w801's I bought was great. They were the red ones in a size 9D. They fit great and I was pleased. So, I ordered another pair, this time the blue ones with the striped center part in a 9D. These were very tight and uncomfortable. I figured it was because of the elastic inset or perhaps my feet were swollen. But I still can't wear them comfortably. So, then I decided to order the same style as the red ones but in a different color, in a 9D. However, they also were very tight and hard to slip on. I don't understand, and even though the sizes go up to a DD, I can't seem to find this style in a 9DD or 9WW anywhere.

Very comfortable and stylish. Great shoe to wear to work with my jeans.

Surprises in the middle - The shoes look really good and fit good except I ordered a wide and the fit was not really wide in the middle. There is elastic in the middle that does not really stretch well. I am getting used to the shoes. They work well when walking. Very soft and comfortable.

Great look but fit took some 'break-in' time... This is a great looking mule! I ordered the khaki with the multi-colored stripes and I've received many compliments on them. The elastic gores pinched the top of my foot initially (I wear them without socks) and caused some blistering. After wearing them for a while, the fit is better. Other than that, the shoes are very comfortable, the traction is top notch, and they're just plain cool looking! By the way, Zappos is outstanding. I shop primarily on the Internet and I choose merchants based on customer service, shipping, guarantee, and prices. Zappos gets 5 stars from me on all of the above!

New Balance W801 - This is a really cute shoe that comes in a multitude of colors, patterns, material, etc. The width seems a little narrow, but I usually prefer an SL2 fit in a W, so it could just depend on foot shape. All in all not a performance shoe but good for style and popping around.

Love the look of these shoes and they have great support. They run narrow through the instep and I have 2 other pair New Balance that I wear for the treadmill that are a perfect fit so I thought these would be the same. I am hoping they will stretch out a little.

Tight Fit! The elastic on the shoe is very tight. Make sure to break the shoe in before any long walking escapades or you'll get blisters where the elastic hits like I did.
