This shoe is timeless and one I feel every gentleman should own. I have had this shoe 10 years and it still wears and looks incredible. While the shoe at first look does not seem to stand out, most seem to notice that it is elegantly different and its simple and clean look actually make it unique in style.

With mostvAE Shoes, I order a half size larger. This one is actual sizing. Great quality.

Very satisfied with this shoe. I have several pairs of these shoes and the Park Avenue for work and pleasure. I have passed this on to several of my co-workers here at the funeral home and they too are very satisfied with the quality of the Allen Edmond shoes. Thanks.

This is my 5th. pair of Grayson! I am hard on shoes ...but my Grayson's hold up better than any shoe I have ever worn. The leather is fine and really holds a shine.
My Grayson's out last any two mabe three pairs of any other shoes I have worn.

The heel was a little stiff at first. Once they were worn about six times, they were easier to wear. I LOVE these shoes and are extremely comfortable. Now to break in the other colors!

I've had 2 pairs of Graysons now. The first pair I had recrafted and they performed quite well. The uppers got worn enough I bought a new pair to replace them. The new pair is nowhere near the shoe the original pair was. It seems to be much more cheaply made. The fit isn't as good, nor is the comfort. The first pair was like a good Mercedes seat, firm at first, but very comfortable in the long run. This new pair is more like a park bench. Something to sit on, but you really don't want to be there long. I've also now had 2 sets of shoes recrafted. The first being the first pair of Graysons. They were done well. Came back fitting and looking almost like brand new. The second pair has come back fitting about like I sent them in with the addition of cheap insoles. Sad to see good products and services go down. I want quality products and services and am willing to pay for them. I do not return to poor products and shoddy services.

Have had a pair of Grasysons since 1990. Re-heeled once. Still a beautiful shoe.
Have several pair of AE's in the closet and rotate them regularly.
Keep them polished with AE polish and you're set.

I have worn this shoe for years. I can not count the number of pairs I have owned.
Within the last few years the shoes do not seem to wear as well. The soles wear out much quicker than the ones made years ago. I am not sure if the leather is a cheaper quality or if Allen E. have decided to make lower quality shoes.

There may be other expensive shoes to own but value to quality, I never regret purchasing my Edmonds.

I have been wearing Allen Edmonds shoes since 1978 and have never been disappointed. In fact I have had a pair of Berwick's recrafted 4 times that I bought in 1979 and only recently decided to let them go to the shoe graveyard.
I currently have two pairs of Park Avenue, 2 pairs of Grayson, a pair of Spectators and a pair of suede casual Allen Edmond shoes. I also have a pair of Loake's handcrafted in London and while they are comfortable and of high quality they are not, in my opinion, of the caliber of Allen Edmonds.
Thank you for making such a wonderful product in the USA.

I have been wearing the Grayson for many many years. I have two pair-brown and black. They fit well and look great no matter where I wear them. I have had them recrafted several times and finally wore out the black pair last spring. Replaced it with another pair of the same. This is the perfect shoe for office, courtroom (I'm an attorney) and casual wear. Dress up or dress down but dress in a pair of Allen Edmonds Grayson slip ons. PLUS the're made right here in the USA.

I have had 2 pairs of Grayson in the past, one (black) I wore out completely after several new soles and heels, the other(cordovan) I still have and wear regularly. My new pair hurt my feet. The first few hours around the office were fine, then I went on a ten minute walk outside and they hurt my feet. I have tried several times to wear them (with breaks in between to let my feet heal) in the hopes of breaking them in, but no luck. It is like the leather is plasticy and will not provide any give. Needless to say, I am disappointed.

I have worn Allen Edmonds shoes for over 10 years faithfully. The Grayson is stylish, but I must say it is the first pair of AE's that have ever hurt my feet, the bottom of my feet. I rotate these with other AE shoes, the Cody and the Wilbert.
I have attempted to wear the Grayson's less frequently, and they still hurt my feet when I do wear them while the other AE shoes do not. I would say the Cody is very close in the structure of the sole and inner linings. They are very comfortable.
I would not recommend the Grayson for comfort. I never thought I'd say that about an AE shoe?

I have two pair of Grayson tassel loafers - black calf and burgundy shell cordovan. First, on the fit; These are built on the same last as the Macneil, and therefore fit very similarly (a little wide in the forefoot, with a smaller toe box than some other lasts). This makes them a little longer (the shoe itself, not the fit) than some other styles, but also makes for a very beautiful shoe.
I got the black calf versions first, to wear with charcoal and black suits and slacks. They were so comfortable that I decided about 6 months later to splurge and get the burgundy shell cordovan versions as well. I have been extremely happy with both.
The soles on the shell version are harder-wearing (meaning that they last longer, showing less wear). Both are holding up well (I wear the shell version about 3 times per month, the black version probably 2 times per month, just due to shoe rotation and need for matching my slacks). The shell shoes are getting beautiful ripples in the vamp and are otherwise wearing extremely well. The calf versions get the typical creases one sees in calf.
I will say that these calf shoes use high quality calf! I slipped in the winter and fell on an icy patch on my driveway. The fall left a scratch along the entire outstep of my right shoe. With a little black AE polish, they look as good as new.
The only gripe I can come up wiht is that the tassels and side lacing are made of calf, even on the shell version. So, they don't quite match the color or texture. I admit it's a very minor issue, and one that no one but me will ever notice, but like I said - it's the only gripe I can come up with!

The Grayson loafer is one of the classic AE styles. The tassels give a dressy look to a slip on shoe. My black pair of Graysons have been worn two times a week for 3 years and have worn beautifully. I find that they fit me slightly smaller than the famous Park Ave. shoe. To sum up my reviews I would say the Grayson is classy and most of all comfortable. They are a staple of my business attire and would recommend them to anyone who needs a solid pair of slip on dress shoes.

Purchased when working in the loop of Chicago my Graysons were at home for both casual and business attire. After three decades I had them recrafted. My family complimented me on my "new" shoes. They had to be convinced that they were thirty years old. What a value!

This was my 1st Allen Edmonds shoe and I loved it so bought many more shoes. But then about 5-10 years ago Allen Edmonds decided not to fabricate shoes in my size (15AA) anymore. Very disappointing. I tried several other shoes in 15B, but since they don't fit well, they're not that comfortable. Consequently, I will continue to have my 15AAs recrafted as long as they last.

I've been wearing Allen Edmonds shoes for 10 years now. You pay a little more up front but the quality and durability make the price an excellent value. Whate other manufacturer has a program to let you send in your shoes for a makeover with their recrafting service!
