The biggest issue was the second person I talked to. The first guy was very helpful. The second female was a ditz.

I bought a different pair of Sambas a week ago - the Samba Manchester United. I had no idea that the ones I received today (the Classic) would be an entirely different feel, look, style, ... everything. I don't get how they're both called Samba. Confusion reigns. The Samba Classic is clunky, cut higher around the ankles, and has a wider *profile* - adding to its clunkiness - but it's actually just as narrow inside as the Manchester United. Compared to the Samba Classic, the Manchester United is super sleek, form-fitting, and low-profile (I mean that literally - it looks more like a ballet slipper, while the Classic does not mold itself sleekly & sublimely around the foot). I spent one minute with one of the Classics on, and that was plenty of time. My foot felt like it was carrying a big shoe around - tho my big toe was pressing against the tip of the shoe, so it was clearly not too big. I'm ordering another pair of Manchester United so I'll have a backup, because I love them. This is a female perspective, MY female perspective. Some women obviously may prefer the Classic, as some men may. I'm just saying that if you're looking for something that could be called graceful, you should check out the Manchester. And that doesn't have to mean feminine, as this is a men's shoe - but I love the classic, old-world look of the Manchester United. Reminds me of some Adidas running shoes I had in the '70s. Perfection.

I'm returning these due to Adidas involvement with Ye

I previously purchased a pair of Sambas in 2018; they were comfortable and lasted several years. Since then, the sizing and manufacture have evidently changed. The pair I just received (and returned) was the same size as my original pair, but were far too small. Moreover, the materials used in the shoe are completely different; the leather is chintzy, and the sole is of a inferior rubber (note that the sole is not the same color as is depicted in the image above).

Look closely at the photo. The tongue on this pair of shoes is WAAAAY to long. It would do well on a pair of high tops. I even tried to fold it over the laces but it's made of plastic or something and it won't stay folded over. I returned them.

The shoe is very stylish and smart. It is however very narrow and long, people with more rounded feet with heavy tops have difficulty putting the shoe on and once its on it hurts on both sides of the toes. The picture does not show it very long but in reality the shoe is not suitable for broad feet.

please heed the reviews that talk about the tongue on this monster. I didn’t - but, it’s no joke. I had my sons go and line up their sambas with the pair I ordered and mine is simply unwearable. you can fold the tongue over the laces and it will go half way down the shoe. I just don’t get it. this has to be a mistake doesn’t it?
